The 2013-14 NBA season is officially in the books and the attention on the hardwood has turned to the offseason, in particular the free agency period, which begins on July 1. The biggest potential free agent is LeBron James, who is still under contract for two more years with the Miami Heat but the All-Star does have the ability to opt out of the deal.

If he does, every other team in the NBA will pursue the league’s best player.

Oddsmakers at Sportsbook.ag are offering up odds on where James will play next.

To no surprise, the Heat are listed as heavy 1/8 favorites (Bet $100 to win $12.50).

After Miami, the offshore outfit believes LeBron could reunite with Cleveland, who has been listed as a 6/1 choice (Bet $100 to win $600).

Bettors should make a note that just because the Heat are the top betting choice to retain James, it doesn’t mean he’ll stay in South Florida. In case you forgot, Miami was nowhere on LeBron’s radar until very late in the process. In the summer of 2010, Cleveland was a 1/3 favorite to retain him and we all know how that turned out. In case you forgot, the Heat were the fifth choice after the Cavaliers, Bulls, Knicks and Nets.

Another looming free agent is New York's Carmelo Anthony. Similar to James, he also has an opt out clause in his contract and can become a free agent. Oddsmakers have made the Knicks 11/10 favorites (Bet $100 to win $110) to retain Anthony's services but the Bulls (6/5) are also receiving attention, as are the Houston Rockets (9/2).
