How Far Will Rockets Win Streak Climb?
Just when people were trying to find another MVP in the league, James Harden produced the highlight of the year by shattering Wesley Johnson’s ankles in one of the most disrespectful plays of all time. This isn’t a race, folks. Harden is the MVP of this season barring any sort of injury, and his team’s 15-game winning streak is stone cold proof that this team is out for blood.
The BetOnline.ag wizards have thrown up a fun prop bet for Rockets fans who want to cash in big on their team’s success. If the Rockets can soar to 23 wins, you can cash in huge on +1400 odds (Bet $100 to win $1400).
This is the flier bet to end all flier bets. I love it!
Houston Rockets Win Streak Record – 23 Wins (Yes +1400 / No -4000)
The previous record was established by Tracy McGrady’s Rockets back in 2008 when they ripped off 22 victories. The longest ever winning streak is 33 wins by the Lakers in 1971-72, while the Warriors strung together a two-season long winning streak from 2015-16 that included the playoffs and totaled 28 games. The South Beach Boyz aka Miami Heat also compiled a 27-game winning streak that stands as the longest in-season (2012-2013) stretch of any team in the modern era. And yes, I know nobody ever called them the South Beach Boyz.
So how do we feel about the Rockets? It’s hard not to feel awesome about it to be honest. At full health, the Rockets are clearly the best team in the regular season. And the best part about their remaining schedule is that they don’t face the Golden State Warriors.
Rockets Remaining Games To Claim Record:
at OKC (3/6)
at Milwaukee (3/7)
at Toronto (3/9)
at Dallas (3/11)
vs San Antonio (3/12)
vs LAC (3/15)
at New Orleans (3/17)
at Minnesota (3/18)
at Portland (3/20)
Obviously the thing that stands out about this schedule of games is that six of the eight games are on the road and very few of their opponents are push overs. Hell, the Rockets could very well lose Tuesday night against the Thunder for all we know. Travelling to play the Bucks and Raptors also poses some difficulties for this team, and a home stand against San Antonio isn’t a picnic.
What should offer some optimism if you’re going to attack this NBA prop bet is that the Rockets perform well above expectation when on the road. They’ve faced the focused wrath of the oddsmakers all season long, and when they’re on the road they’ve compiled a great 20-11 ATS record.
A fully healthy Rockets team has only lost two games this entire season. Most of their defeats came when CP3 was nursing injury. He’s never looked better or more comfortable. And Harden is simply playing on another planet. He’s coming off a month where he averaged 30.1 points per game and never lost a single game. Unbelievable.
However you feel about the Rockets long term is up to you. We all know how this franchise performs when May comes around. Paul and Harden both have gorillas on their backs when it comes to post season curses. But this regular season winning streak is well in play despite the gargantuan odds being tallied by the oddsmakers. It’s a fun bet to chase so have at it.
