PLAYER UPDATES Provided By SportsBuff.com
Player: Roddy White WR, Atlanta Falcons 11/20/08, Time: 5:57 pm
 Status:
Probable
News: White did not practice on Thursday due to a deep back bruise.
 Analysis:

White is still expected to play on Sunday against the Panthers and is a must-start when healthy. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Harris LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/20/08, Time: 5:42 pm
 Status:
Out
News: Harris remains sidelined as he is still recovering from groin surgery.
 Analysis:

Harris has been a tackle machine for the Jets and should be kept on your radar in IDP leagues as he gets closer to returning to action. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jason Elam K, Atlanta Falcons 11/20/08, Time: 12:57 pm
News: Elam has been amazingly steady as the kicker in Atlanta. His age seems to have not affected is ability to kick and he seems to flourish in the dome atmosphere.
 Analysis:

Elam can still reach from way out and is a solid No. 1 kicking option in week 12 against Carolina. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerious Norwood RB, Atlanta Falcons 11/20/08, Time: 12:56 pm
News: Norwood has been nursing sore ribs and has practiced this week. He averages 10 touches per game so far this season.
 Analysis:

Norwood is a risky play this week due to his injury. He is the best breakaway threat in the Falcon offense. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Ryan QB, Atlanta Falcons 11/20/08, Time: 12:54 pm
News: Ryan did not have a huge statistical game in Week 11 throwing for 250 with an interception and no touchdowns.
 Analysis:

Ryan should get back into fantasy form this week against Carolina. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Michael Turner RB, Atlanta Falcons 11/20/08, Time: 12:53 pm
News: Turner has over 80 yards rushing for three straight weeks and had two touchdowns in Week 11 against Denver.
 Analysis:

Turner is a solid No. 1 choice at RB and shows no sign of being overworked. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Roddy White WR, Atlanta Falcons 11/19/08, Time: 9:02 pm
 Status:
Probable
News: White missed practice Wednesday because of a reported back injury. He's not expected to miss any game action, though.
 Analysis:

An injury is about all that should take White out of your fantasy lineup at this point. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Roddy White WR, Atlanta Falcons 11/16/08, Time: 3:49 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: White topped the 100-yard barrier for the fourth time this season with 102 yards against Denver. He was held out of the endzone.
 Analysis:

The expected big numbers from the Atlanta passing attack did not happen, but White had more than 40% of the Falcons' total passing yardage. He has become a stud in 2009 and his connection with QB Matt Ryan foreshadows potential keeper status in the offseason. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Michael Turner RB, Atlanta Falcons 11/16/08, Time: 3:47 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Turner ran for a pair of TD's against the Broncos and now has nine scores on the season. He also ran for 82 yards.
 Analysis:

Turner's 3.2 yards per carry was one of his lowest averages of the season, but you have to give the Broncos some credit here. Still, there's little reason to sit him against anyone throughout the rest of the season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Ryan QB, Atlanta Falcons 11/16/08, Time: 3:45 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Ryan was held out of the endzone by the Broncos. He did throw for 250 yards, but was intercepted by Dre Bly.
 Analysis:

This was Ryan's first touchdown-less game since Week 4. He looked like a good play against the weak Bronco defense, but Denver came to play (and won). Ryan may be a good sit against the Panthers next week, but you may use reverse logic from this week and play him. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Eric Barton LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:43 am
News: Barton led the Jets defense with 17 total tackles, 14 solo, and forced a fumble in the Jets' overtime win over the Patriots.
 Analysis:

Barton has stepped it up for the Jets defensively and has recorded 27 tackles over his last two games, 22 of which are solo. Barton is certainly worthy of a pickup if you are in need of a linebacker. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:39 am
News: Cotchery had five receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown on Thursday against New England.
 Analysis:

Cotchery made an outstanding one-handed catch for 46 yards and later went on to record his first touchdown in five games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Dustin Keller TE, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:36 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Keller had eight catches for 87 yards in Thursday's win over the Patriots.
 Analysis:

Keller has become Brett Favre's favorite target as of late and played a huge part in the Jets win. Keller now has 14 catches for 194 yards over his last two games. If Keller is still available in your league, pick him up right away. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Thomas Jones RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:33 am
News: Jones rushed the ball 30 times for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Jets OT win over the Patriots on Thursday.
 Analysis:

Jones rushed for over 100 yards for the second straight game and now has touchdowns in four straight games. Jones has six touchdowns over that span. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brett Favre QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:30 am
News: Favre completed 26-of-33 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns on Thursday in the Jets 34-31 OT win over New England.
 Analysis:

Favre played one of his best games of the season for the Jets as he did not turn the ball over. The Jets face a tough match up next week against Tennessee. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Michael Jenkins WR, Atlanta Falcons 11/13/08, Time: 10:34 am
News: Jenkins caught six passes for 72 yards a week after scoring two touchdowns in Oakland. He has emerged as the solid No. 2 receiver in Atlanta behind Roddy White and has had four straight games with at least 50 yards receiving.
 Analysis:

Jenkins is a solid play this week because the Denver defense has not stopped anybody so far this season. Grab any Falcon you can and start them this week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerious Norwood RB, Atlanta Falcons 11/13/08, Time: 10:32 am
News: Norwood is proving to be a very reliable No. 2 back. Last week he had a 67 yard reception for a touchdown and registered 17 fantasy points while only touching the ball four times.
 Analysis:

Norwood could see more action against Denver in Week 11 in a game that could end up a shoot-out. (Sports Buff.com)

Player: Matt Ryan QB, Atlanta Falcons 11/13/08, Time: 10:30 am
News: Ryan continues to impress and was again solid in Week 10, throwing for 248 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan has tossed two or more touchdowns in his last five games.
 Analysis:

Atlanta plays Denver this week and that would make Ryan a must-start in all fantasy formats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Harris LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/13/08, Time: 10:17 am
 Status:
Out
News: Harris will miss his third straight game tonight because of an injured groin. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/12/08, Time: 7:31 am
News: Cotchery, who has been suffering from a shoulder injury, was limited in practice on Tuesday.
 Analysis:

Cotchery is still expected to be in the starting lineup against the Patriots on Thursday and should improve on his one catch for 18 yards in the Jets win over the Rams. Consider Cotchery a solid WR2 against New England. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ty Law DB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/11/08, Time: 8:13 am
News: The Jets signed Law to a one-year contract on Monday.
 Analysis:

Law is expected to be active against New England on Thursday but it is unclear what role he will have or how much he will even play. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Roddy White WR, Atlanta Falcons 11/09/08, Time: 5:42 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: White bounced back from his first TD-less game in a month with five receptions for 68 yards and a TD.
 Analysis:

He has been a nice security option for rookie QB Matt Ryan. He now has 53 receptions and six TD's this year and is a top ten WR option. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerious Norwood RB, Atlanta Falcons 11/09/08, Time: 5:40 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Norwood did most of his damage on receptions against the Saints. He had a 67-yard TD reception and added a 21-yard catch for good measure.
 Analysis:

It's hard to recommend Norwood because he is not a feature back. Nevertheless, he is making the most of his opportunities and has scored TD's in the last two weeks. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Michael Turner RB, Atlanta Falcons 11/09/08, Time: 5:36 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Turner ran through the Saints defense for 96 yards and a TD.
 Analysis:

Turner posted consecutive good games for the first time this season. This is his first year as a feature back, so maybe he is just getting used to being the focus of the offense. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Ryan QB, Atlanta Falcons 11/09/08, Time: 5:35 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Ryan continued to post respectable numbers for a fantasy QB. He had 248 yards and a pair of TD's against the Saints.
 Analysis:

Ryan has had two TD's in his last three games and has not thrown an interception in his last two. Granted, he was playing against the Saints and Raiders, but he is a very impressive rookie. Keeper leagues be aware. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kris Jenkins DT, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:20 pm
News: Jenkins beat a battered interior Bills line for two sacks in the Jets' victory on Sunday. That gives him three for the year, matching his best season total since 2003.
 Analysis:

Don't expect it to be a sign of things to come. Jenkins is a very good player, just not the kind who tends to show it with numbers. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Darrelle Revis DB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:16 pm
News: Revis had a big day in the win at Buffalo, notching a sack, an interception and a fumble recovery to go with five tackles (four solo).
 Analysis:

Revis is a solid IDP option, though his value tends to rely on him making a couple of plays on the ball in coverage. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Laveranues Coles WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:14 pm
News: Coles caught just three passes for 40 yards on Sunday in Buffalo.
 Analysis:

That's going to happen from time to time. It doesn't mean you should be wary of using him going forward. Of course, it would be nice for Coles owners if Brett Favre could pick it up a bit. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:12 pm
News: Cotchery tied for the team lead with six catches on Sunday and paced the Jets with 62 receiving yards.
 Analysis:

Cotchery has been a much better point-per-reception player this season than he has been in leagues that don't score catches. That's not helped by Brett Favre's recent touchdown drought. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Leon Washington RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:10 pm
News: Washington came back to Earth on Sunday, carrying seven times for 13 yards and catching two passes for 42. He scored two touchdowns a week ago in the victory over Kansas City.
 Analysis:

Washington might be fantasy worthy if Thomas Jones were to get hurt. Any scoring he does outside of that, though, should be viewed as fluky -- at least until the team starts going to him much more often. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Thomas Jones RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:07 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Jones took 12 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory and caught six passes for 38 more yards. The score was Jones' fifth in the past four games.
 Analysis:

The Jets could certainly stand to hand Jones the ball a bit more often, but it's encouraging that he's getting the touchdown carries. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brett Favre QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:05 pm
 Status:
Cold
News: Favre went 19-for-28 in Sunday's win over the Bills but tossed an interception and didn't connect for a touchdown.
 Analysis:

Actually, that's not true. Favre did hit Buffalo corner Jabari Greer for a score. It was the second time in three weeks that Favre failed to throw a touchdown pass to his own team ... and the second straight game in which he did throw one to the opponent. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Michael Turner RB, Atlanta Falcons 11/02/08, Time: 7:01 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Turner continues to smash poor teams (and the Packers). He had 139 yards against the Raiders.
 Analysis:

Turner has four 100+ yards games and none of them have come against an above .500 team. Perhaps the Falcon offensive line can only create holes against subpar defenses. Turner makes for a good play against the Saints next week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Michael Jenkins TE, Atlanta Falcons 11/02/08, Time: 6:59 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Jenkins made Roddy White owners unhappy by snagging both of Matt Ryan's TD passes against the Raiders.
 Analysis:

He had but two catches on the day, but both ended up with Jenkins dancing in the endzone. He only had one TD (in week 1) previously in the season, so he will probably being looking up at White in the stats next week again. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brett Favre QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 10:33 am
News: According to Jets beat writer Mike Canizzaro, the Bills have allowed 77 percent completions over the past three games and picked off just one pass. That can only help Brett Favre, who has been erratic lately. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: David Harris LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 8:55 am
News: ILB David Harris didn't even make the trip to Buffalo with his team this weekend and will miss today's game with hip and groin injuries. It's just as well, as he has been a big IDP disappointment thus far. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Jerious Norwood RB, Atlanta Falcons 10/31/08, Time: 7:50 pm
News: Norwood was limited in practice during the week after suffering a concussion. He has been removed from the injury report, though, and appears ready for Sunday.
 Analysis:

Norwood could be a fantasy sleeper against the Raiders on Sunday, except that he hasn't garnered more than four carries since Week 3. It's incredible the way he continues to be underused. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/31/08, Time: 1:43 pm
 Status:
Probable
News: Cotchery was limited again in practice this week by a shoulder injury that had him questionable in Week 8. He played in that game and caught nine passes for 102 yards.
 Analysis:

He'll probably carry the same designation into this week, but there's no reason to believe that Cotchery might miss Sunday's game. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Laveranues Coles WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/31/08, Time: 1:41 pm
 Status:
Hot Questionable
News: Coles continues to be limited in practice during the week by a thigh injury that has been present all season.
 Analysis:

He's likely to stay listed as questionable for Sunday's game again, but there's no reason to believe he won't play. Coles is having a very good season thus far and remains a strong option. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Harris LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/31/08, Time: 1:38 pm
 Status:
Cold Doubtful
News: Harris missed practice all week with injuries to a hip and his groin. It doesn't appear likely that he'll play on Sunday.
 Analysis:

No big loss for fantasy owners, as he has been an IDP disappointment all season, anyway. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Michael Turner RB, Atlanta Falcons 10/29/08, Time: 11:00 am
News: Turner was relatively quiet in Week 8 but will look to rebound in Week 9 against Oakland. Turner has proven to be a solid No. 1 RB and Atlanta keeps the ball moving enough for him to get his touches.
 Analysis:

Turner is also a must-start in every fantasy format. Consider him a No. 1 this week against Oakland. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Roddy White WR, Atlanta Falcons 10/29/08, Time: 10:58 am
News: Roddy White is a fantasy stud. White was once again a top performer in Week 8, catching eight balls for 113 yards and two touchdowns.
 Analysis:

White is a must-start in any fantasy format. He has become a No. 1 receiver and should never be out of your line-up. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Ryan QB, Atlanta Falcons 10/29/08, Time: 10:56 am
News: Ryan registered 277 yards passing in a Week 8 loss to Philadelphia. Ryan threw two touchdown passes and was also picked off twice.
 Analysis:

Ryan keeps posting solid fantasy numbers and that should continue in Week 9 in Oakland. Consider Ryan a solid No. 2 starter. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jesse Chatman RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/29/08, Time: 9:56 am
News: The Jets placed HB Jesse Chatman on IR ending his season. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Erik Ainge QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/29/08, Time: 9:53 am
News: The Jets placed QB Erik Ainge on injured reserve ending his season. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/27/08, Time: 11:28 am
News: Cotchery caught 9 passes for 102 yards in the Jets win over Kansas City.
 Analysis:

Cotchery continues to show he is a big time wide receiver who can rack up catches and yards with a gun slinging QB. Continue to play Cotchery every week.(SportsBuff.com)

Player: Leon Washington RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/27/08, Time: 11:26 am
News: Leon Washington had a big day in minimal time. He carried 3 times for 67 yards and a TD and caught 3 passes for 34 yards and a td.
 Analysis:

Washington remains a very risky play, he has breakaway speed but still sits behind Thomas Jones on the depth chart. Wait till he surpasses Jones to permanently play him in fantasy. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brett Favre QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/27/08, Time: 11:24 am
News: Favre struggled early against the Chiefs but still managed to lead his team to the go ahead touchdown. Favre finished with 290 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 3 INTs.
 Analysis:

Cause for concern for Favre owners. He put up mediocre numbers against a bad Chiefs D. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/26/08, Time: 9:59 am
News: WR Jerricho Cotchery is active and will join Laveranues Coles in the starting lineup today. Both are decent options against the Chiefs. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Chris Baker TE, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/25/08, Time: 8:14 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: A back injury has Baker listed as questionable for this week's meeting with Kansas City.
 Analysis:

That should be enough to keep him out of fantasy lineups, as the Jets are already unpredictable with which tight end will put up the best numbers. (SportsBuff.com)
