PLAYER UPDATES Provided By SportsBuff.com
Player: Greg Camarillo WR, Miami Dolphins 11/20/08, Time: 6:27 am
News: The Dolphins signed Camarillo to a three-year extension worth $6 million on Wednesday.
 Analysis:

Camarillo is leading the Dolphins in receptions (49) and yards (538). (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 11/16/08, Time: 11:16 am
News: As expected, Chad Pennington is active and will start today. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: John Henderson DT, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/16/08, Time: 9:43 am
News: DT John Henderson will miss his second straight game today, which should make running the ball even easier for the Titans today. They had little trouble the first time they faced the Jaguars anyway. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 11/16/08, Time: 8:56 am
News: Chad Pennington has a sore foot but will be in the lineup today. That shouldn't hamper him too much, as the Raiders don't sport a strong enough pass rush to make him move around a ton. He's just an average fantasy option, though, against an Oakland defense that picked Jake Delhomme four time last week and invites opponents to run. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/16/08, Time: 6:40 am
News: Matt Jones will be a game-time decision today because of a thigh bruise. He draws a tough matchup with the Titans and would likely face Cortland Finnegan most of the day, if not the whole day. You'd be better off with another option this week. In case you don't have another attractive one, though, we'll keep an eye on his playing status all morning. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/15/08, Time: 12:35 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Jones missed practice on Friday with a thigh bruise and will be a game-time decision on Sunday.
 Analysis:

He'll have a tough matchup anyway with Tennessee, so you'd probably be better off going in another direction if possible. We'll keep an eye on the situation on Sunday morning, though. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/15/08, Time: 12:09 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Jones missed practice on Friday with a thigh injury and will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Titans.
 Analysis:

Jones has been playing well for Jacksonville this season, recording at least five catches in all but one game but is a risky start this week against Tennessee. He should be benched if you have a better option at wide receiver. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ted Ginn WR, Miami Dolphins 11/11/08, Time: 10:37 am
News: Ginn caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory.
 Analysis:

This looks more like the upside for Ginn than that aberration of a performance against the Bills. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 11/11/08, Time: 10:35 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Brown's touchdown in Sunday's win over the Seahawks masked an otherwise unexciting day. He carried 10 times for 39 yards, though he did catch four passes.
 Analysis:

Brown hasn't managed 4 yards per carry in a game since Week 5, but he has found the end zone in four of the past six games. His owners should probably keep him in the lineup most weeks. Just beware that he could offer little if he doesn't happen to find the goal line. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ricky Williams RB, Miami Dolphins 11/11/08, Time: 10:32 am
News: Williams made his fantasy day with a 51-yard touchdown scamper in Sunday's victory over Seattle. He finished with 105 yards on 12 carries overall.
 Analysis:

Williams figures to split the load pretty evenly with Ronnie Brown, but he took the ball seven times or fewer in the three games before Sunday's. Don't get too excited. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 11/11/08, Time: 10:30 am
 Status:
Steady
News: Pennington threw for 209 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's victory over Seattle.
 Analysis:

Pennington continues to be solid, but the Week 11 matchup with Oakland could be trouble. Jake Delhomme and Brett Favre each struggled while throwing multiple interceptions in recent contests against the Raiders. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerry Porter WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/11/08, Time: 9:53 am
News: Porter caught his first touchdown pass of the season in Sunday's victory at Detroit.
 Analysis:

He still caught just two balls total, though, giving him five for the season. Porter needs to get more work before he becomes a viable fantasy starter. If Matt Jones ever actually gets suspended, it could help Porter's cause. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Maurice Jones-Drew RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/11/08, Time: 9:16 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Jones-Drew picked up 70 yards and three touchdowns on his 11 carries against the Lions on Sunday. It marked the fourth time in the past five games that he has found the end zone.
 Analysis:

Jones-Drew has had a disappointing season so far, but the disappointment overshadows the fact that he has scored in six of nine games and is on pace to score more touchdowns than the 15 he notched as a breakout rookie in 2006. This week brings a tough matchup in the Titans, but Jones-drew is a better option than he might seem going forward. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Fred Taylor RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/11/08, Time: 9:12 am
News: Taylor gave notice that he's still alive on Sunday by carrying 18 times for 80 yards in the victory over the Lions.
 Analysis:

He'll have to do more than that to prove worthy of being owned again in fantasy leagues, though. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Garrard QB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/11/08, Time: 9:10 am
News: Garrard threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win at Detroit. It was the second time in three games that he has tossed a pair of scoring passes.
 Analysis:

Unfortunately for Garrard, Week 11 brings a much tougher matchup in Tennessee. That pair of two-touchdown outings marks the only two times he's done that this year. Conversely, he threw two picks in the first meeting with the Titans. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/09/08, Time: 11:41 am
News: Despite being well enough to practice this week for the first time in a while, WR Mike Walker is inactive for today's game in Detroit. We'll see if it's just a matter of trying to get him healthier for the rest of the schedule. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Mike Peterson LB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/09/08, Time: 11:40 am
News: DT John Henderson was expected to be out for today's game, but the team has also deactivated MLB Mike Peterson. Peterson was sent home midweek for apparent attitude-related issues. This is the final year on his contract, so it wouldn't be surprising if he's done as a starter in Jacksonville. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/08/08, Time: 12:00 pm
 Status:
Probable
News: Walker was a full practice participant this week for the first time since hurting his knee during a breakout performance in Week 5. He is listed as probable for the game at Detroit.
 Analysis:

Although he could well be worth owning the rest of the way for a team that could still lose Matt JOnes for three games at any time, Walker would be a risky start this week. He doesn't have a long enough track record to plug back in after a three-game layoff. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ted Ginn WR, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:55 am
News: Ginn came back to Earth with a three-catch, 38-yard outing in Denver on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Please treat his big day against Buffalo as an aberration, if you weren't already. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Greg Camarillo WR, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:54 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Camarillo caught 11 passes for 111 yards in Miami's win at Denver on Sunday.
 Analysis:

The 11 catches were more than three times what any of his teammates got. Camarillo has turned himself into a weekly PPR play and a decent option in all formats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ricky Williams RB, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:52 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Williams carried just six times for 16 yards in Denver on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Coach Tony Sparano had said that he wanted to get Williams some more work, and Sunday's game against one of the league's weakest run defenses seems like it would have been a prime opportunity. As it is, we can't trust Williams as a fantasy option. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:50 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Brown picked up just 59 yards on his 20 carries against one of the league's worst run defenses in Denver on Sunday. He did save his fantasy value with a touchdown, though.
 Analysis:

Since beating the Chargers for 125 yards in Week 5, Brown has averaged just less than 3 yards per carry. It wouldn't be a bad idea to sell now if you can find a buyer clinging to Brown's big games against New England and San Diego. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:46 am
News: Despite the silly gushing of the CBS announcers, Pennington managed to complete just 23 of 40 passes for no touchdowns and an interception against a Broncos defense that was without Champ Bailey. He did compile 281 yards, though.
 Analysis:

Pennington remains a solid fantasy play, though he isn't going to blow anyone away with numbers. He has a pretty favorable matchup in Week 10 with Seattle. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/03/08, Time: 7:27 am
 Status:
Steady
News: Jones caught seven passes for 69 yards against the Bengals on Sunday, the third straight game in which he caught at least seven passes.
 Analysis:

Jones has hauled in at least five balls in every game but one this season, suddenly making him quite a steady and thus valuable PPR performer. A three-game league suspension still looms, pending appeal, but he's a starter until that becomes official. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Fred Taylor RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/03/08, Time: 7:25 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Taylor carried just five times for 12 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
 Analysis:

Taylor is not worth owning in fantasy leagues at this point. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Maurice Jones-Drew RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/03/08, Time: 7:20 am
News: The frustration continues for fantasy owners, as Jones-Drew garnered just 10 carries in Sunday's loss, picking up 33 yards and a touchdown.
 Analysis:

Jones-Drew has gotten more than 12 carries just twice this season. Those two games just happen to have been his two best per-carry performances for the year so far. The Jaguars' willingness to load up on pass plays at the expense of a much stronger running game is inexplicable and severely hampers Jones-Drew's fantasy value. At least he has reached the end zone in five of eight games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Garrard QB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/03/08, Time: 7:17 am
News: Garrard threw an interception for the first time since Week 3 in an embarrassing loss to the Bengals on Sunday. He also failed to toss a touchdown pass while compiling 229 yards.
 Analysis:

Garrard won't be a dominant fantasy performer any time soon, but he seemed to be at least a safe play against the Bengals. It's tough to trust anything Jaguar these days, though, except for Matt Jones. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Reggie Williams WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/02/08, Time: 9:58 am
News: Reggie Williams returned to full practice by the end of the week after being limited by a hamstring injury. He should be starting today at Cincinnati and could be a No. 3 receiver option for fantasy owners searching. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/31/08, Time: 11:00 am
News: Jones still has yet to hear from the league on his suspension. He should still play this weekend.
 Analysis:

With the Jags facing a must win situation given the Titans 7-0 start, Jones could be primed for a big week before an impending suspension will sideline him. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/28/08, Time: 11:10 am
News: Jones is still awaiting word on his status following his appeal of his three game suspension.
 Analysis:

I wouldn't expect the league to reduce the suspension any, Jones owners may have him for this week as his appeal might not be heard. However, I would watch closely. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ted Ginn WR, Miami Dolphins 10/27/08, Time: 10:16 am
News: Ted Ginn Jr had a huge day against Buffalo, he caught 7 catches for 175 yards, unfortunately he was unable to haul in a touchdown catch.
 Analysis:

Ginn broke out in this game against the Bills. He still has the talent to make Miami happy they took him as high as they did. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 10/27/08, Time: 10:14 am
News: Brown was slowed down by the Bills on Sunday, only 43 yards rushing and catching 1 pass for 5 yards.
 Analysis:

Brown had a down day but he still remains a top fantasy choice at halfback. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 10/27/08, Time: 10:08 am
News: Chad Pennington had a huge day against the Bills on Sunday, throwing for 314 yards and 1 td.
 Analysis:

Pennington continues to surprise everyone in Miami. He is one of the most consistent options at this point as Miami continues to show they will not go away. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ricky Williams RB, Miami Dolphins 10/24/08, Time: 11:40 am
News: Dolphins Coach Tony Sparano has vowed to get Ricky more involved in the Phins offense.
 Analysis:

With the way Miami has run their offense this year it is anybody's guess as to how Ricky will be more involved. He could line up at FB, WR, HB, QB, or maybe return kicks. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Greg Camarillo WR, Miami Dolphins 10/20/08, Time: 12:47 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Camarillo continued his breakout year on Sunday going for 6 catches for 74 yards.
 Analysis:

Camarillo has been a pleasant surprise for anyone who managed to grab him late or in FA. His game against the Ravens continues to show that in deeper leagues or if you're thin at WR he is a must start. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 10/20/08, Time: 12:24 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Pennington completed 24 of 35 passes for 295 yards and one touchdown against the Ravens.
 Analysis:

Good news for Pennington owners as he was able to approach the 300 yard mark against a tough D with his run game struggling. Pennington continues to put up solid numbers for a QB who was taken late or not at all in most drafts, expect him to continue the success. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 10/20/08, Time: 12:17 pm
News: The Dolphins used the Wildcat formation seven times on Sunday gaining a lowly 24 yards. The Ravens did a good job stopping Brown and the Dolphins.
 Analysis:

Thankfully for Brown owners they won't see the Ravens every week. Brown will still have plenty of opportunities against weaker D's the rest of the year. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Fred Taylor RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/16/08, Time: 10:38 am
 Status:
Probable
News: Taylor suffered his third career concussion in the Jags last game.
 Analysis:

Taylor expects to play Sunday and was fitted with a special bulkier helmet. Even though he is expected to play, Jones-Drew should see the majority of the field. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/13/08, Time: 6:45 am
 Status:
Steady
News: Jones caught seven more passes for 69 yards in the win at Denver on Sunday.
 Analysis:

His opening to the season seemed like it could have been fluky, but it looks like Jones is finally realizing his potential. He nearly took one of his receptions into the end zone Sunday, and he'll get his if he keeps catching passes so regularly. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Fred Taylor RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/13/08, Time: 6:43 am
News: Taylor left in a bit of a daze in the first half after taking a hard hit from Denver's Nate Webster and fumbling. He did return in the second half, which should mean he'll be fine, especially after a Week 7 bye.
 Analysis:

Anyone who started him agaisnt the Broncos, of course, isn't fine with the three carries and one catch for 20 combined yards and a fumble. Look for a more even distribution of carries to continue after the bye, though. Jones-Drew will always carry the higher value, however. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Maurice Jones-Drew RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/13/08, Time: 6:36 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Jones-Drew finally had a huge day against the Broncos on Sunday. He picked up 125 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries, adding two catches for another 23 yards.
 Analysis:

It didn't hurt that Fred Taylor left in the first half (though later returned) after getting his bell rung. We all know that Jones-Drew is capable of this kind of output. Really, it would be fine if he could manage even half or two-thirds of it on a more-regular basis. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Garrard QB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/13/08, Time: 6:32 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Garrard enjoyed his most efficient day of the season on Sunday in Denver, completing 73.5 percent of his passes for a season-best 276 yards and a touchdown. He also went interception-free for the third straight game.
 Analysis:

Garrard seems to have settled into the role of solid, ball-protecting passer that we got used to last season. He's back to being a safe-though-unexciting fantasy option. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Patrick Cobbs RB, Miami Dolphins 10/12/08, Time: 8:58 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Cobbs came out of nowhere to catch three passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in Miami's loss to the Texans Sunday.
 Analysis:

Cobbs had one career touchdown and 17 total touches before Sunday since entering the league in 2006. Expect this to be more of an aberration than a breakout. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ricky Williams RB, Miami Dolphins 10/12/08, Time: 8:56 pm
News: Williams carried 11 times for 46 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Texans.
 Analysis:

If you're hard up for a flex player, Williams seems to be getting as much as 40 or 45 percent of the load. It'll be tough to expect him to score often, though. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 10/12/08, Time: 8:45 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Brown took just 13 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Texans.
 Analysis:

Fantasy owners should gladly take that if it's a below-average performance. Brown ran for more than 100 yards in each of his past two games. He does have a tough matchup with the Ravens next week, but it's tough to sit him right now. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 10/12/08, Time: 8:42 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Pennington connected on 19 of his 25 passes in the loss to Houston on Sunday for 284 yards, two scores and a pick.
 Analysis:

Pennington is the kind of quarterback you look to if you're desperate in a bye week or have a terrible matchup with your normal starter. He generally won't light it up or kill you. Sunday's production is pretty much his upper limit. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/08/08, Time: 7:28 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: The Orlando Sentinel reports that an MRI showed Walker's injured MCL is sprained and not torn. The young receiver said he's "shooting for Sunday."
 Analysis:

Let's go ahead and consider him out for fantasy purposes, unless he somehow proves close to 100 percent by Sunday. If Walker can get and stay healthy, he could be a helpful fantasy player for the second half of the season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/08/08, Time: 11:25 am
 Status:
Out
News: The Orlando Sentinel reports that Jack Del Rio said his young receiver might have torn an MCL in Sunday night's game rather than merely sprained it.
 Analysis:

It seems that when a coach makes a "might have" annnouncement on in injury like this, it usually ends up turning into "did." Assume that Walker will be out for the rest of the year, which would be unfortunate after a breakout 100-yard performance against the Steelers. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/08/08, Time: 9:57 am
News: Jones agreed to avoid a criminal trial stemming from his felony cocaine arrest in the off-season. He agreed to enter an intervention program.
 Analysis:

Jones for now remains an option at WR for fantasy owners. However, should he not meet the requirements of his agreement he will face a criminal trial. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/07/08, Time: 9:10 am
 Status:
Questionable
News: Walker caught six passes for 107 yards on Sunday night but came away from the loss to Pittsburgh with a sprained MCL. It's not yet known whether he'll be able to play in Week 6.
 Analysis:

With a bye coming in Week 7, don't be surprised if the team takes a cautious approach with its young wideout. If Walker can get back healthy, he certainly has a chance to become a regular contributor in a pass offense that has been searching for receivers since before Jimmy Smith retired.
