PLAYER UPDATES Provided By SportsBuff.com
Player: Greg Camarillo WR, Miami Dolphins 11/20/08, Time: 6:27 am
News: The Dolphins signed Camarillo to a three-year extension worth $6 million on Wednesday.
 Analysis:

Camarillo is leading the Dolphins in receptions (49) and yards (538). (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Steve Slaton RB, Houston Texans 11/20/08, Time: 6:24 am
News: Slaton injured his chest on Sunday against the Colts.
 Analysis:

Slaton is expected to be okay and play against the Browns in Week 12. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 11/16/08, Time: 11:16 am
News: As expected, Chad Pennington is active and will start today. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Matt Schaub QB, Houston Texans 11/16/08, Time: 10:43 am
News: As expected, Matt Schaub is inactive once again. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 11/16/08, Time: 8:56 am
News: Chad Pennington has a sore foot but will be in the lineup today. That shouldn't hamper him too much, as the Raiders don't sport a strong enough pass rush to make him move around a ton. He's just an average fantasy option, though, against an Oakland defense that picked Jake Delhomme four time last week and invites opponents to run. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Morlon Greenwood LB, Houston Texans 11/15/08, Time: 12:17 pm
 Status:
Doubtful
News: Greenwood is doubtful for Sunday's visit to Indianapolis because of a bruised fibula. Rookie Xavier Adibi will get the start in his place. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Steve Slaton RB, Houston Texans 11/14/08, Time: 11:32 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Coaches have reportedly seen a bit more vigor from Slaton in practice this week after resting him for most of the loss to Baltimore. He's expected to get more work this week against the Colts.
 Analysis:

Slaton still looks like a risky play, as there's no telling how much the "worn down" feeling coaches previously mentioned will show in the game. In addition, the Colts have improved against the run since the last time these teams met. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ted Ginn WR, Miami Dolphins 11/11/08, Time: 10:37 am
News: Ginn caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory.
 Analysis:

This looks more like the upside for Ginn than that aberration of a performance against the Bills. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 11/11/08, Time: 10:35 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Brown's touchdown in Sunday's win over the Seahawks masked an otherwise unexciting day. He carried 10 times for 39 yards, though he did catch four passes.
 Analysis:

Brown hasn't managed 4 yards per carry in a game since Week 5, but he has found the end zone in four of the past six games. His owners should probably keep him in the lineup most weeks. Just beware that he could offer little if he doesn't happen to find the goal line. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ricky Williams RB, Miami Dolphins 11/11/08, Time: 10:32 am
News: Williams made his fantasy day with a 51-yard touchdown scamper in Sunday's victory over Seattle. He finished with 105 yards on 12 carries overall.
 Analysis:

Williams figures to split the load pretty evenly with Ronnie Brown, but he took the ball seven times or fewer in the three games before Sunday's. Don't get too excited. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 11/11/08, Time: 10:30 am
 Status:
Steady
News: Pennington threw for 209 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's victory over Seattle.
 Analysis:

Pennington continues to be solid, but the Week 11 matchup with Oakland could be trouble. Jake Delhomme and Brett Favre each struggled while throwing multiple interceptions in recent contests against the Raiders. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Andre Johnson WR, Houston Texans 11/11/08, Time: 10:27 am
 Status:
Steady
News: Johnson didn't have a big day against the Ravens, but he did catch seven passes for 66 yards.
 Analysis:

Limited numbers should have been expected against a tough defense. Week 11 presents another tough matchup (Indy) for the pass defense, but Johnson caught nine balls for 131 yards and a touchdown with Sage Rosenfels under center in the first meeting. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kevin Walter WR, Houston Texans 11/11/08, Time: 10:24 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Walter caught four passes for 85 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory.
 Analysis:

Walter is a near lock for four catches, having made that many in six of the past eight games. With three touchdowns over the past three weeks, he also seems to be a fairly popular end-zone target. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Steve Slaton RB, Houston Texans 11/11/08, Time: 10:22 am
News: Slaton carried just four times for 7 yards in Sunday's loss and caught two passes for 17 more. He reportedly had a 58-yard touchdown catch called back because of a holding penalty.
 Analysis:

Coach Gary Kubiak reportedly said that his diminutive rookie back is "worn down." This could mean fewer carries for Slaton the rest of the way and more limited fantasy value. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Sage Rosenfels QB, Houston Texans 11/11/08, Time: 10:19 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Rosenfels threw for nearly 300 yards (294) and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to Baltimore, but he also tossed four interceptions.
 Analysis:

He has been a turnover machine this year and doesn't make for an attractive fantasy starter. This week's game at Indianapolis is no exception. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Donald Driver WR, Houston Texans 11/09/08, Time: 7:22 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Driver settled back down to earth against the Vikings with five catches for 46 yards.
 Analysis:

Driver had a stupendous game against the Titans a week ago (136 yards and a TD), but he won't go for triple-digits too often anymore. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Zach Diles LB, Houston Texans 11/08/08, Time: 11:56 am
 Status:
Out
News: Diles broke his leg in practice this week and will miss the remainder of the season. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Sage Rosenfels QB, Houston Texans 11/03/08, Time: 1:16 pm
News: Rosenfels will reportedly take over the starting job in Houston for at least the next month. According to FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer, starter Matt Schaub tore the MCL in his left knee Sunday at Minnesota.
 Analysis:

Rosenfels won't inspire confidence in his coaches or fantasy owners, but he did throw for 224 yards and two touchdowns in the second half on Sunday. He's an OK spot-starting option, though not a great choice this week against Baltimore. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Schaub QB, Houston Texans 11/03/08, Time: 1:13 pm
 Status:
Out
News: FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer reports that Schaub has a torn MCL and will miss at least a month. Houston's starter could wind up on injured reserve. Sage Rosenfels takes over. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Ted Ginn WR, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:55 am
News: Ginn came back to Earth with a three-catch, 38-yard outing in Denver on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Please treat his big day against Buffalo as an aberration, if you weren't already. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Greg Camarillo WR, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:54 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Camarillo caught 11 passes for 111 yards in Miami's win at Denver on Sunday.
 Analysis:

The 11 catches were more than three times what any of his teammates got. Camarillo has turned himself into a weekly PPR play and a decent option in all formats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ricky Williams RB, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:52 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Williams carried just six times for 16 yards in Denver on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Coach Tony Sparano had said that he wanted to get Williams some more work, and Sunday's game against one of the league's weakest run defenses seems like it would have been a prime opportunity. As it is, we can't trust Williams as a fantasy option. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:50 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Brown picked up just 59 yards on his 20 carries against one of the league's worst run defenses in Denver on Sunday. He did save his fantasy value with a touchdown, though.
 Analysis:

Since beating the Chargers for 125 yards in Week 5, Brown has averaged just less than 3 yards per carry. It wouldn't be a bad idea to sell now if you can find a buyer clinging to Brown's big games against New England and San Diego. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 11/03/08, Time: 10:46 am
News: Despite the silly gushing of the CBS announcers, Pennington managed to complete just 23 of 40 passes for no touchdowns and an interception against a Broncos defense that was without Champ Bailey. He did compile 281 yards, though.
 Analysis:

Pennington remains a solid fantasy play, though he isn't going to blow anyone away with numbers. He has a pretty favorable matchup in Week 10 with Seattle. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Steve Slaton RB, Houston Texans 11/03/08, Time: 9:18 am
News: Slaton had a solid 62 yards on 16 carries against one of the league's toughest run defenses in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. He added tremendous PPR value with eight catches.
 Analysis:

Slaton remains a strong fantasy option. Sunday's game was just the second in the past five in which he failed to reach the end zone. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Andre Johnson WR, Houston Texans 11/03/08, Time: 8:53 am
 Status:
Steady
News: Johnson broke his streaks of 10-catch games and 130-yard performances by grabbing just four balls for 62 yards against the Vikings on Sunday. He did reach the end zone one, though, to keep up his fantasy value.
 Analysis:

Johnson remains a top receiving option. Although the Ravens generally present a tough matchup, Johnson could be up for starting a new streak if Baltimore remains without its starting corners. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Owen Daniels TE, Houston Texans 11/03/08, Time: 8:51 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Daniels did a tremendous Andre Johnson impression on Sunday, catching 11 passes for 133 yards and not reaching the end zone at all.
 Analysis:

With Antonio Gates' toe-fueled limitations and Jason Witten's rib fracture and quarterback issues, Daniels just might be the league's No. 1 fantasy tight end right now. At the very least, he's an every-week starter. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Schaub QB, Houston Texans 11/03/08, Time: 8:49 am
 Status:
Questionable
News: Schaub left at halftime with a sprained ligament in his left knee, according to the Houston Chronicle. He could miss the next two games, though an MRI is scheduled for Monday.
 Analysis:

Despite getting hurt early, Schaub was a decent 11-for-16 before getting pulled. His owners should just hope he's back healthy before the fantasy playoffs. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Sage Rosenfels QB, Houston Texans 11/03/08, Time: 8:46 am
News: Rosenfels stepped in for an injured Matt Schaub in the second half against the Vikings and completed 21 of 29 passes for 224 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
 Analysis:

Although the Texans lost, it was a decent bounceback from Rosenfels' last performance, when he gave away a late lead to the Colts. He wouldn't be a strong fantasy option in Week 10 against the Ravens, though, if Schaub is unavailable. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kevin Walter WR, Houston Texans 11/02/08, Time: 11:11 am
News: As expected, Kevin Walter is active today against the Vikings. He's a decent No. 3 option, though his production is spotty. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Ahman Green RB, Houston Texans 11/02/08, Time: 11:08 am
News: Chris Mortensen reports that Ahman Green is inactive today. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Ahman Green RB, Houston Texans 11/01/08, Time: 5:47 am
 Status:
Questionable
News: Green is questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Vikings because of a thigh injury that limited him in practice this week.
 Analysis:

What else is new? If you're even considering Green this week, you're either desperate or a fool -- maybe both. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Zach Diles LB, Houston Texans 10/31/08, Time: 8:01 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Diles was limited in practice this week by an injured hamstring and is questionable for the game against Minnesota.
 Analysis:

He makes for a strong play if available, so we'll keep an eye on his status on Sunday. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ted Ginn WR, Miami Dolphins 10/27/08, Time: 10:16 am
News: Ted Ginn Jr had a huge day against Buffalo, he caught 7 catches for 175 yards, unfortunately he was unable to haul in a touchdown catch.
 Analysis:

Ginn broke out in this game against the Bills. He still has the talent to make Miami happy they took him as high as they did. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 10/27/08, Time: 10:14 am
News: Brown was slowed down by the Bills on Sunday, only 43 yards rushing and catching 1 pass for 5 yards.
 Analysis:

Brown had a down day but he still remains a top fantasy choice at halfback. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 10/27/08, Time: 10:08 am
News: Chad Pennington had a huge day against the Bills on Sunday, throwing for 314 yards and 1 td.
 Analysis:

Pennington continues to surprise everyone in Miami. He is one of the most consistent options at this point as Miami continues to show they will not go away. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ricky Williams RB, Miami Dolphins 10/24/08, Time: 11:40 am
News: Dolphins Coach Tony Sparano has vowed to get Ricky more involved in the Phins offense.
 Analysis:

With the way Miami has run their offense this year it is anybody's guess as to how Ricky will be more involved. He could line up at FB, WR, HB, QB, or maybe return kicks. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Greg Camarillo WR, Miami Dolphins 10/20/08, Time: 12:47 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Camarillo continued his breakout year on Sunday going for 6 catches for 74 yards.
 Analysis:

Camarillo has been a pleasant surprise for anyone who managed to grab him late or in FA. His game against the Ravens continues to show that in deeper leagues or if you're thin at WR he is a must start. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 10/20/08, Time: 12:24 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Pennington completed 24 of 35 passes for 295 yards and one touchdown against the Ravens.
 Analysis:

Good news for Pennington owners as he was able to approach the 300 yard mark against a tough D with his run game struggling. Pennington continues to put up solid numbers for a QB who was taken late or not at all in most drafts, expect him to continue the success. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 10/20/08, Time: 12:17 pm
News: The Dolphins used the Wildcat formation seven times on Sunday gaining a lowly 24 yards. The Ravens did a good job stopping Brown and the Dolphins.
 Analysis:

Thankfully for Brown owners they won't see the Ravens every week. Brown will still have plenty of opportunities against weaker D's the rest of the year. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Andre Johnson WR, Houston Texans 10/20/08, Time: 10:19 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Johnson caught 11 passes for 141 yards thanks in large part to Coach Kubiak and the Texans moving him around in formations to avoid double teams.
 Analysis:

Johnson continues to be one of the bright spots on a disappointing Texans team. He shows week after week he is a top receiver and a must start. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chris Taylor RB, Houston Texans 10/18/08, Time: 3:03 pm
 Status:
Out
News: Taylor has been placed on injured reserve, opening a spot on the roster for activated corner Dunta Robinson. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Mario Williams DE, Houston Texans 10/12/08, Time: 9:05 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: The 2006 No. 1 pick beat 2008 No. 1 pick Jake Long for two sacks in the Texans' victory over Miami on Sunday.
 Analysis:

If it weren't for John Abraham's huge start, Williams would easily be the No. 1 fantasy lineman right now. As it is, he's probably the top option going forward anyway. He's a beast. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Andre Johnson WR, Houston Texans 10/12/08, Time: 9:03 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Johnson caught 10 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory over Miami.
 Analysis:

Johnson is one of the league's best receivers and an every-week fantasy starter. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Schaub QB, Houston Texans 10/12/08, Time: 9:01 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Schaub threw for a league-high (at least before the Patriots-Chargers game ended) 379 yards on Sunday, connecting for a touchdown and two interceptions. He also ran in the game-winning touchdown on a draw near the end of the fourth quarter.
 Analysis:

Schaub has thrown for 300 yards in consecutive games and seems ready to be a solid fantasy contributor. He should be better than solid next week, as the Texans welcome the lowly Lions to town. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Patrick Cobbs RB, Miami Dolphins 10/12/08, Time: 8:58 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Cobbs came out of nowhere to catch three passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in Miami's loss to the Texans Sunday.
 Analysis:

Cobbs had one career touchdown and 17 total touches before Sunday since entering the league in 2006. Expect this to be more of an aberration than a breakout. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ricky Williams RB, Miami Dolphins 10/12/08, Time: 8:56 pm
News: Williams carried 11 times for 46 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Texans.
 Analysis:

If you're hard up for a flex player, Williams seems to be getting as much as 40 or 45 percent of the load. It'll be tough to expect him to score often, though. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ronnie Brown RB, Miami Dolphins 10/12/08, Time: 8:45 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Brown took just 13 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Texans.
 Analysis:

Fantasy owners should gladly take that if it's a below-average performance. Brown ran for more than 100 yards in each of his past two games. He does have a tough matchup with the Ravens next week, but it's tough to sit him right now. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chad Pennington QB, Miami Dolphins 10/12/08, Time: 8:42 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Pennington connected on 19 of his 25 passes in the loss to Houston on Sunday for 284 yards, two scores and a pick.
 Analysis:

Pennington is the kind of quarterback you look to if you're desperate in a bye week or have a terrible matchup with your normal starter. He generally won't light it up or kill you. Sunday's production is pretty much his upper limit. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Will Demps DB, Houston Texans 10/12/08, Time: 9:03 am
News: S Will Demps is expected back on the field this week after missing the Week 5 matchup with the Colts. He's nothing special as an IDP option. (SportsBuff.com)
