PLAYER UPDATES Provided By SportsBuff.com
Player: Alex Smith TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/20/08, Time: 6:06 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Smith did not practice on Thursday due to an injured ankle.
 Analysis:

Smith was downgraded on the injury report and it is unlikely that he plays in Week 12 against the Lions. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kurt Warner QB, Arizona Cardinals 11/20/08, Time: 12:41 pm
News: Warner has been nothing short of spectacular in the 2008 season. He leads the QB charge with 223 points and averages over 22 points per game.
 Analysis:

Warner shows no signs of slowing down and has made some excellent veteran throws this year. He gets rid of the ball quickly and rarely turns it over. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Larry Fitzgerald WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/20/08, Time: 12:39 pm
News: Fitzgerald is a top tier fantasy receiver and is a must-play in all formats. He should have another good statistical game in Week 12.
 Analysis:

Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin are fantasy studs and are a must-play in any format. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Edgerrin James RB, Arizona Cardinals 11/20/08, Time: 12:37 pm
News: Edgerrin James has been denied his request to be traded from Arizona. James is the No. 3 back in Arizona and has little fantasy value.
 Analysis:

Tim Hightower and J.J. Arrington are ahead of James on the depth chart. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Noah Herron RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/19/08, Time: 2:23 pm
News: Herron signed with the Bucs on Wednesday, the same day that starter Earnest Graham found his way to injured reserve.
 Analysis:

The former Packer could carve out a niche as the team's goal-line back. Herron is just about exactly the same size as Cadillac Williams but isn't making his way back from a serious knee injury. Both backs outweigh Warrick Dunn by about 30 pounds. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Warrick Dunn RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/19/08, Time: 2:20 pm
News: Dunn officially took over as the Bucs' starter on Wednesday when the team place Earnest Graham on injured reserve with an ankle ailment.
 Analysis:

Dunn's fantasy value obviously rises, but it remains to be seen whether he'll get shots at the end zone. Fullback B.J. Askew vultured a touchdown last week, and just-signed Noah Herron outweighs Dunn by about 30 pounds. Dunn will have to rack up a ton of yardage to become a consistent fantasy option without touchdowns. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Earnest Graham RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/19/08, Time: 2:17 pm
 Status:
Out
News: The Bucs made it official on Wednesday, ending Graham's season by placing him on injured reserve.
 Analysis:

The team signed former Packer Noah Herron to fill Graham's roster spot. Expect Warrick Dunn and Cadillac Williams to see the majority of the carries, though fullback B.J. Askew could continue to get goal-line work. He scored his first NFL touchdown on Sunday. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jeff Garcia QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/19/08, Time: 10:23 am
News: Garcia will be relied on heavily with the injury to Ernest Graham. Garcia has been more than solid in the last four starts and is a No. 1 QB in all formats.
 Analysis:

Tampa Bay is at Detroit and Garcia should find some decent passing lanes in Week 12. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: B.J. Askew RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/19/08, Time: 10:21 am
News: Askew could get some increased looks out of the Tampa backfield. He will get all of the carries near the goal line in the absence of Ernest Graham.
 Analysis:

Consider Askew a nice stop-gap No. 2 option at RB in Week 12. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Warrick Dunn RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/19/08, Time: 10:17 am
News: Dunn will be the go-to guy in Tampa for as long as he remains healthy. With the injury to Ernest Graham and the unpredictability of Cadillac Williams, Dunn is a solid No. 1.
 Analysis:

Look for Dunn to get 20 plus touches per game for the rest of the season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Carnell Williams RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/19/08, Time: 10:14 am
News: Williams is active and ready to take the field. He will be asked to shoulder as much offensive responsibility as his surgically reconstructed knee can handle.
 Analysis:

Williams is active and is seemingly ready to play. Keep an eye on his progress to see if he has any hope of registering decent fantasy numbers the rest of the way out. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Clifton Smith RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/19/08, Time: 10:05 am
News: Smith got some carries in Week 11 as Tampa Bay seems to be leaning towards running back by committee with Ernest Graham out for the season.
 Analysis:

Smith is a low-end RB at best but may get some work down the stretch. Tampa Bay is a very good team that is very thin at RB. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Earnest Graham RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/19/08, Time: 9:59 am
News: Graham appears to be done for the season. Jon Gruden has already begun making changes in the offensive backfield and you may consider dropping Graham to clear room for an active player.
 Analysis:

Graham has been an all-around back for Tampa Bay and he will be missed. He has no remaining fantasy value. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: J.J. Arrington RB, Arizona Cardinals 11/18/08, Time: 1:52 pm
News: Arrington is beginning to show up on the radar with the demotion of Edgerrin James. He scored two touchdowns in Week 11 and led all Arizona rushers with 40 yards.
 Analysis:

Arizona has to play the Giants this week, so the match-up is less than stellar but monitor Arrington closely as he may get more work down the stretch. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Anquan Boldin WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/18/08, Time: 1:50 pm
News: Boldin had another huge week registering 13 catches for 186 yards. He was held out of the end zone for the first time in four weeks.
 Analysis:

Boldin is a statistical wonder this season. The only thing that has stopped him was the early injury, otherwise he has been lights-out. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kurt Warner QB, Arizona Cardinals 11/18/08, Time: 1:49 pm
News: Warner just keeps on racking up huge fantasy numbers week after week. He threw for 395 yards in Week 11 and now has four 300 yard passing games in a row.
 Analysis:

Warner is simply a must-play in all fantasy formats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerramy Stevens TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/16/08, Time: 4:36 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Stevens had his best game of the season with six catches for 84 yards.
 Analysis:

Stevens shares the tight end responsibilities with Alex Smith, so he is unlikely to break out. He showed some upside with the Seahawks in years past, so if he starts being productive from week to week, give him a shot. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Warrick Dunn RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/16/08, Time: 4:34 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Dunn took the lead as the Buccaneer back. He ran 20 times for 53 yards and had 65 yards of receiving.
 Analysis:

Dunn has just one TD this season and the one running TD (and only Tampa TD of the game) was given to blocking back B.J. Askew. If he gets the same carries against the Lions next week, Dunn could be a good play. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jeff Garcia QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/16/08, Time: 4:32 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Garcia has been an excellent game manager for Tampa Bay. Against the Vikings, he completed better than 70% of his passes (his fifth such accomplishment in the last six games).
 Analysis:

If your league awards points for passing accuracy, then Garcia may have a place on your team. Most leagues are based on a TD's and Garcia is not the man in that case. He has just three TD's in his last six games and didn't score on Sunday. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Carnell Williams RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/16/08, Time: 10:23 am
News: Although Cadillac Williams has finally come off the PUP list, he won't be activated by the Bucs today. It's unlikely that he'll provide any fantasy value this year unless some injuries occur to the guys ahead of him on the depth chart. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Earnest Graham RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/16/08, Time: 10:21 am
News: Earnest Graham and Warrick Dunn will both be available for the Bucs today. Neither makes for a good fantasy starter, though, against the tough Vikings run defense. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Earnest Graham RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/15/08, Time: 12:48 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Graham was limited in practice all week by an ailing knee and is listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Vikings.
 Analysis:

Between his questionable health and the terrible matchup with Minnesota, Graham is a bad fantasy play this week. Go in another direction if at all possible. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Neil Rackers K, Arizona Cardinals 11/14/08, Time: 11:27 am
News: Rackers had three field goals and two extra points in Week 10. The Arizona offense has been amazing so far this season and Rackers has been a consistent kicker.
 Analysis:

Look for Rackers to continue to rack up points. He is an excellent No. 1 option at kicker in all formats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Steve Breaston WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/14/08, Time: 11:26 am
News: Breaston has not missed a beat since being moved from No. 2 to No. 3 receiver with the return of Anquan Bolden. Breaston has seven or more catches in five of his last six games.
 Analysis:

Arizona tosses the ball around a lot and Breaston has been getting the highest amount of catches in that potent offense. He is a solid No. 2 receiver this week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Edgerrin James RB, Arizona Cardinals 11/14/08, Time: 11:24 am
News: James only got two carries for four yards against San Francisco in Week 10. He has lost the bulk of his carries to rookie Tim Hightower.
 Analysis:

The Edgerrin James era in Arizona appears to be over. Look for him to get limited work for as long as Tim Hightower stays healthy. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Antonio Bryant WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/13/08, Time: 10:24 am
News: Bryant is having a big year for Tampa Bay. He has 556 yards and two touchdowns and is in the top of many receiving categories. He has become the No. 1 receiving option for QB Jeff Garcia.
 Analysis:

Tampa plays a very stout Minnesota defense this week so consider Bryant a decent low-end No. 1 option at receiver. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Joey Galloway WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/13/08, Time: 10:21 am
News: Galloway has been slowly working his way back into the offense but has yet to register big numbers. There are three receivers with more yards than Galloway.
 Analysis:

Consider him a low-end No. 2 option at receiver this week. Tampa Bay faces a tough Minnesota defense in Week 11. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Earnest Graham RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/13/08, Time: 10:18 am
News: Graham was very limited in practice on Wednesday and is still very much in doubt to play on Sunday. If you have a better or healthier option on your roster, play him.
 Analysis:

Graham has been used as a fullback a lot this season and has taken a pretty good pounding. He is questionable for Week 11. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Carnell Williams RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/12/08, Time: 12:14 pm
News: Williams has been activated since suffering a major knee injury in Week 4 of 2007. Tampa Bay has released Michel Bennett while Warrick Dunn and Ernest Graham are both nursing injuries.
 Analysis:

Add Williams to your roster but only play him if you must. It has been a year and seven games since he has taken a competitive hit. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jeff Garcia QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/12/08, Time: 12:13 pm
News: Garcia went for over 300 yards for the second straight week. The Tampa Bay passing game seems to be clicking on all cylinders.
 Analysis:

Consider Garcia a decent No. 1 option at QB this week. He faces a tough Minnesota pass rush but has been very efficient so keep him on your roster. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Earnest Graham RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/12/08, Time: 12:11 pm
News: Graham has been resting all week and nursing a sore knee. Monitor his progress in practice and look for other options.
 Analysis:

Graham goes up against a stout Minnesota defense this week so he is a risky play even if he remains healthy. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Tim Hightower RB, Arizona Cardinals 11/11/08, Time: 2:10 pm
News: Hightower only had 50 yards of total offense against San Francisco on Monday night. He still remains ahead of Edgerrin James on the depth chart and Arizona has moved the ball all season.
 Analysis:

Consider Hightower a decent No.2 RB as the Cardinals take on Seattle this week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Anquan Boldin WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/11/08, Time: 2:07 pm
News: Bolden had two touchdowns on Monday night and has showed no ill-effects from the fractured sinus he suffered earlier in the season.
 Analysis:

Bolden and teammate Larry Fitzgerald, are going to be catching touchdown passes for the rest of the season so keep him in your line-up (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kurt Warner QB, Arizona Cardinals 11/11/08, Time: 2:03 pm
News: Warner threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns on Monday night against San Francisco. The ageless Warner has so many offensive weapons that it would seem that he will continue to register huge stats every week.
 Analysis:

Warner has looked every bit like the MVP quarterback he once was. He is a must-start in all fantasy formats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Edgerrin James RB, Arizona Cardinals 11/11/08, Time: 7:48 am
 Status:
Cold
News: James had only two carries for four yards in Arizona's win over the 49ers on Monday.
 Analysis:

James continues his downward spiral into fantasy irrelevance as he has carried the ball only nine times in his last three games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Anquan Boldin WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/11/08, Time: 7:44 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Boldin caught seven passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns in Arizona's victory over San Francisco on Monday.
 Analysis:

Boldin had yet another huge game for the Cardinals and now has a touchdown in six straight games, with ten touchdowns over that span. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Tim Hightower RB, Arizona Cardinals 11/11/08, Time: 7:42 am
News: Hightower ran for only 22 yards on 13 carries against San Francisco on Monday.
 Analysis:

Hightower was coming off a 100-yard performance from a week ago but was unable to get going, averaging only 1.7 yards per carry. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Larry Fitzgerald WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/11/08, Time: 7:39 am
 Status:
Steady
News: Fitzgerald had eight receptions for only 49 yards but added a touchdown in Arizona's victory over the 49ers on Monday.
 Analysis:

Even with a quiet night, Fitzgerald was able to record his sixth touchdown pass of the season. (SortsBuff.com)

Player: Steve Breaston WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/11/08, Time: 7:35 am
News: Breaston caught seven passes for 121 yards in Arizona's 29-24 victory over San Francisco on Monday.
 Analysis:

Even with Anquan Boldin back in the lineup, Breaston continues to be an important part of the Cardinals' offense. Breaston has at least seven receptions in five of his last six games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kurt Warner QB, Arizona Cardinals 11/11/08, Time: 7:33 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Warner completed 32 of 42 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns in Arizona's 29-24 victory over the 49ers on Monday.
 Analysis:

Warner has thrown for over 300 yards in three straight games and has at least two touchdown passes in nine straight games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Leonard Pope TE, Arizona Cardinals 11/09/08, Time: 11:03 am
News: The Cardinals tight end situation is still cloudy this week. Leonard Pope is expected to be back in uniform, but will not be 100 percent. Fellow tight end Ben Patrick is also hobbled thanks to a bum knee.
Player: Anquan Boldin WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/06/08, Time: 11:38 am
News: Bolden is a fantasy stud. He had 83 yards and a touchdown last week and the Cardinals play the 49ers this week so more catches are going to happen.
 Analysis:

Bolden remains a must-start along with his teammate Larry Fitzgerald and his quarterback Kurt Warner. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Tim Hightower RB, Arizona Cardinals 11/06/08, Time: 11:36 am
News: The Tim Hightower era in Arizona may already be upon us. In his first official start last week he went for 109 yards and a touchdown.
 Analysis:

The Edge did not register a carry in Week 9 so consider the starting RB in Arizona officially belonging to Hightower. He is a solid No. 2 fantasy option. (SportBuff.com)

Player: Kurt Warner QB, Arizona Cardinals 11/06/08, Time: 11:34 am
News: Warner had another monster game in Week 9 with 342 yards and two touchdowns. Simply stated, Warner is having an MVP type season.
 Analysis:

Keep Warner in your line-up in any fantasy format. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Edgerrin James RB, Arizona Cardinals 11/02/08, Time: 6:46 pm
 Status:
Cold
News: James got a DNP-CD on Sunday against the Rams. No word on whether he'll be in the backfield next week.
 Analysis:

Perhaps Ken Whisenhut was just sending James a message by starting Tim Hightower. Perhaps Hightower is just better than James at this point in their respective careers. He has had a long and fruitful NFL journey, but James has apparently neared the end. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Larry Fitzgerald WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/02/08, Time: 6:38 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Fitzgerald continued his fine season with six catches for 81 yards against the Rams. It was actually his worst fantasy output of the season.
 Analysis:

Fitzgerald either had 100 yards receiving or a TD in every game coming into the week. I wouldn't worry about his slight dip in production. He has become a top echelon receiver and will continue to reward his owners each and every week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Anquan Boldin WR, Arizona Cardinals 11/02/08, Time: 6:35 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Boldin continued to show that a broken face is nothing to stand in the way of an NFL player. He had six catches for 85 yards and a TD.
 Analysis:

Woe is he that dropped Boldin after he got hurt. He is playing for a new contract and may be Rod Tidwelling his way into someone showing him the money. Since returning he has 15 catches for 148 yards and two scores in two games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Tim Hightower RB, Arizona Cardinals 11/02/08, Time: 6:30 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Hightower made the start for the ineffective Edgerrin James and ran for 109 yards and a TD.
 Analysis:

Hightower had looked good as a short yardage back in previous games, but he may be ready to handle the load. He now has seven TD's on the season and should continue to rack up more scores and yards. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kurt Warner QB, Arizona Cardinals 11/02/08, Time: 6:29 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Warner continued to ignite the high octane Cardinal offense with 342 yards and two TD's. He has at least two TD's in each of his last seven games.
 Analysis:

Warner is on pace for a 4700 yard season with 32 TD's. Whether he can keep this up is questionable, but as long as he is healthy, he'll continue to put up points - big points. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Bryant K, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11/02/08, Time: 6:25 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Bryant had another nice day for Tampa. He made all three of his field goals, including a 34-yard game winner in OT.
 Analysis:

Bryant has been a steady source of points as a kicker. His low game was six in Week 2 and he had 12 in Week 4 against the Packers. He has only missed three kicks and none with 40 yards. (SportsBuff.com)
