PLAYER UPDATES Provided By SportsBuff.com
Player: Willie Parker RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/20/08, Time: 11:28 pm
News: Parker rushed 14 times for only 37 yards in the Steelers' 27-10 win over the Bengals.
 Analysis:

Parker could never get going in the game, averaging only 2.6 yards per carry. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Heath Miller TE, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/20/08, Time: 11:26 pm
News: Miller had four catches for 44 yards and a touchdown against Cincinnati on Thursday.
 Analysis:

Miller had a strong game against the Bengals after missing the last two games with an ankle injury. The touchdown was only Miller's second of the season after having seven last season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Santonio Holmes WR, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/20/08, Time: 11:24 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Holmes had five receptions for 84 yards in Pittsburgh's win over Cincinnati on Thursday.
 Analysis:

Holmes has played well against the Bengals this season, recording five catches and over 80 yards in both games. Holmes is starting to get targeted more and could be a solid addition to your team if he is available. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ben Roethlisberger QB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/20/08, Time: 11:20 pm
News: Roethlisberger completed 17-of-30 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for another score in a 27-10 win over the Bengals.
 Analysis:

Roethlisberger had gone three straight games without a passing touchdown. He did not throw an interception for a second straight game. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kellen Winslow TE, Cleveland Browns 11/20/08, Time: 5:54 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Winslow missed practiced on Thursday as he continues to rest his sprained right shoulder.
 Analysis:

He has not been ruled out for Sunday but at this point, it appears unlikely that Winslow will be healthy enough to play in Week 12 against the Texans. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brady Quinn QB, Cleveland Browns 11/20/08, Time: 5:25 pm
 Status:
Probable
News: Quinn has a small fracture in his right index finger.
 Analysis:

Quinn is still expected to start on Sunday against Houston and will wear a splint on the finger. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kellen Winslow TE, Cleveland Browns 11/19/08, Time: 8:38 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Winslow has a sprained shoulder and is considered questionable for Sunday's game. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Coach Romeo Crennel says that if Winslow can raise his arms over his head without limitation, he'll play.
 Analysis:

This looks like a decision that will probably go into the weekend, unless Winslow shows definitively before then that he's healthy enough. He's worth waiting on, if you can, because of the excellent matchup with the weak Houston pass defense. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: D'Qwell Jackson LB, Cleveland Browns 11/18/08, Time: 6:17 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Jackson had 11 total tackles, five solo in the Browns' victory over the Bills on Monday.
 Analysis:

Jackson has recorded 11 total tackles in three straight games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Phil Dawson K, Cleveland Browns 11/18/08, Time: 6:09 am
News: Dawson connected on all five field goal attempts and added two extra points on Monday against Buffalo.
 Analysis:

Dawson had a great game for the Browns', hitting the eventual game winning field goal from 56-yards with only 1:39 left in the game. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerome Harrison RB, Cleveland Browns 11/18/08, Time: 6:06 am
News: Harrison had three carries for 80 yards and a touchdown in the Browns' 29-27 win over Buffalo on Monday.
 Analysis:

Harrison scored his first rushing touchdown of the season on a 72-yard run in the fourth quarter. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kellen Winslow TE, Cleveland Browns 11/18/08, Time: 6:04 am
News: Winslow caught three passes for 40 yards in Cleveland's 29-27 win over Buffalo on Monday.
 Analysis:

Winslow was coming off his best game of the season, a ten catch, 111-yard performance last week but the Browns' offense did not play well. Look for Winslow to bounce back strong in Week 12 against the Texans. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jamal Lewis RB, Cleveland Browns 11/17/08, Time: 11:14 pm
News: Lewis carried the ball 18 times for 65 yards against Buffalo on Monday.
 Analysis:

It has only been an okay year for Lewis so far this season, as has yet to record over 100 rushing yards after doing it five times last season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Braylon Edwards WR, Cleveland Browns 11/17/08, Time: 11:10 pm
News: Edwards had eight catches for 104 yards in Cleveland's 29-27 win over Buffalo on Monday.
 Analysis:

Edwards recorded his second 100-yard receiving game of the season, both of which have come during a Monday Night Football game. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brady Quinn QB, Cleveland Browns 11/17/08, Time: 11:08 pm
News: Quinn was 14-of-36 for 185 yards and no touchdowns in a 29-27 win over Buffalo on Monday. He also rushed four times for 18 yards.
 Analysis:

In his second career start, Quinn clearly struggled on the road in Buffalo, completing only 38.9 percent of his passes. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Spaeth TE, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/16/08, Time: 10:35 am
News: TE Matt Spaeth will start in place of the injured Heath Miller today. He's a solid sleeper option against a generous Chargers pass defense for anyone in search of a starter. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: LaMarr Woodley LB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/16/08, Time: 8:03 am
News: LaMarr Woodley will be back on the field for the Steelers today after missing last week's game with a calf injury. His pass-rush ability will be welcome against the league's highest-scoring pass offense in San Diego. Woodley is only an OK IDP this week, though, as the Chargers have allowed just 12 sacks all season. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Shaun Rogers DT, Cleveland Browns 11/15/08, Time: 1:03 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Rogers practiced on only a limited basis this week after hurting his neck against the Broncos last time out. He is listed as questionable but expected to play.
 Analysis:

Rogers is a good IDP lineman against the Bills and their ailing interior. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Willie Parker RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/12/08, Time: 8:07 am
 Status:
Probable
News: Parker will return to practice on Wednesday and is expected to start Sunday in Week 11 against San Diego.
 Analysis:

Parker is likely to see the bulk of the carries over Mewelde Moore and should be considered a RB2 against the Chargers. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Heath Miller TE, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/12/08, Time: 8:03 am
 Status:
Out
News: Miller will not play in Week 11 against the Chargers as he has been ruled out with an ankle injury.
 Analysis:

Miller will miss his second straight game and remains questionable for the Steelers' Week 12 game against the Bengals. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: LaMarr Woodley LB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/12/08, Time: 7:57 am
 Status:
Questionable
News: Woodley is expected to return to practice on Thursday.
 Analysis:

Woodley missed the Steelers' game against the Colts in Week 10 with a calf injury but looks likely to return to action against the Chargers. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Willie Parker RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/09/08, Time: 11:36 am
News: NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the shoulder injury that will keep Willie Parker out today is a torn labrum. His status for next week is in doubt as well. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: LaMarr Woodley LB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/09/08, Time: 8:52 am
News: LB LaMarr Woodley was limited all week by a calf injury that he carried into the Monday night game. Woodley is expected to play through it. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Ben Roethlisberger QB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/09/08, Time: 8:09 am
News: Barring some sort of setback in warmups today, Ben Roethlisberger will be under center for the Steelers. His banged-up right shoulder, though, as well as an injured right thumb could threaten to take him off the field at any point. Add the injuries to the matchup with a Colts defense that has allowed just two touchdown passes all year, and you should go in a different direction at quarterback today. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Willie Parker RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/09/08, Time: 6:59 am
News: RB Willie Parker will almost definitely not be on the field today, leaving the starting job to Mewelde Moore. Moore is a good fantasy option against a Colts defense that can be generous on run defense. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Willie Parker RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/08/08, Time: 11:41 am
 Status:
Doubtful
News: Parker missed practice all week with a mysterious injured shoulder that no one felt the need to announce publicly until midweek. He is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game.
 Analysis:

That returns Mewelde Moore to the status of good fantasy starter. The Colts have gotten better against the run since their Week 4 bye, but they let the Patriots go for 4.4 a carry last week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ben Roethlisberger QB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/08/08, Time: 11:36 am
News: Roethlisberger returned to practice on Friday despite his hurting shoulder. He is listed as probable for the matchup with the Colts.
 Analysis:

He's still not a good fantasy choice against an Indy defense that has allowed just two touchdown passes all year. The Colts' Tampa 2 system makes it less important that Indy will be without both starting corners. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Braylon Edwards WR, Cleveland Browns 11/07/08, Time: 7:51 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Edwards caught just one pass for 15 yards on Thursday night in Brady Quinn's first start at quarterback. Quinn threw in Edwards' direction several other times but couldn't connect.
 Analysis:

It'd be nice to chalk the lack of action up as an aberration, but we'll have to see what kind of connection Quinn and Edwards have and/or can develop. The return to health of Donte' Stallworth and Quinn's apparent comfort with Kellen Winslow II probably won't help Edwards' numbers. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kellen Winslow TE, Cleveland Browns 11/07/08, Time: 7:49 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Winslow caught 10 balls for 111 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday night's loss.
 Analysis:

He also made a couple of key mistakes, but those don't matter much in the fantasy sense. Brady Quinn hit the tight end more than twice as often as any other passing target, which bodes well for Winslow's value going forward. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jamal Lewis RB, Cleveland Browns 11/07/08, Time: 7:47 am
News: Lewis carried 19 times for just 60 yards and a touchdown in the Thursday night loss to the Broncos.
 Analysis:

The fact that he didn't manage more yards against one of the league's weakest run defenses could be indicative of Lewis' lack of fantasy potential and the team's unimpressive use of him. Cleveland ran a disturbing number of plays to the outside, when staying between the tackles would have taken better advantage of Lewis' attributes and attacked the Broncos' vulnerability. Lewis is a marginal fantasy starter the rest of the way. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brady Quinn QB, Cleveland Browns 11/07/08, Time: 7:43 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Quinn completed 23 of 35 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns in his debut as a starter Thursday night.
 Analysis:

Although the Browns lost, it was tough to find anything to dislike about Quinn's performance. By the time Week 11 games start, he'll likely be owned in nearly all fantasy leagues. Don't get overaggressive in starting him, though, as Denver carries one of the league's worst defenses, especially with several key starters injured. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Heath Miller TE, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/04/08, Time: 6:37 am
News: Miller caught nary a pass in the Monday night victory at Washington. It was the fourth time this season that he put up two or fewer catches. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Hines Ward WR, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/04/08, Time: 6:34 am
News: Ward caught three passes for 39 yards in Monday night's victory. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Santonio Holmes WR, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/04/08, Time: 6:33 am
News: Holmes returned from his one-game team suspension with three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown on Monday night.
 Analysis:

These numbers have been pretty typical for Holmes this season, less than what most expected from a player who seemed to be on the rise. He's a No. 3-caliber fantasy receiver at this point. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Nate Washington WR, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/04/08, Time: 6:06 am
News: Washington led the Steelers with 59 receiving yards on Monday night. He caught two passes, including a 50-yarder.
 Analysis:

Washington's value comes entirely from big plays, which makes him a risky fantasy play at best. He doesn't get the ball enough to boast PPR value and doesn't offer much in general if he doesn't happen to reach the end zone. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mewelde Moore RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/04/08, Time: 6:05 am
 Status:
Cold
News: With Willie Parker back on the field, Moore carried just four times for minus-2 yards on Monday night. He did catch three passes for 45 yards, though.
 Analysis:

It was expected that Moore would garner a bit more of the rushing load, especially because Pittsburgh coaches had espoused wariness for giving Parker too much work right away. Apparently they were lying, and Moore loses pretty much all fantasy value. He's only worth keeping around if you have a deep bench, in case Parker gets hurt again. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Willie Parker RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/04/08, Time: 6:02 am
News: Parker returned to the lineup after missing four games with a sprained knee and carried 21 times for 70 yards and a touchdown.
 Analysis:

For anyone who was wondering if Mewelde Moore earned a larger share of carries with his work in Parker's absence, the answer is apparently no. Parker should once again be a regular fantasy starter. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ben Roethlisberger QB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/04/08, Time: 5:59 am
 Status:
Questionable
News: Big Ben came out of Monday night's win at halftime because of an injured right shoulder. X-rays were negative, and Coach Mike Tomlin reportedly said his starter could have returned if needed.
 Analysis:

It seems like Roethlisberger, who has had trouble with his throwing shoulder for most of the season, will probably start in Week 10 against the Colts. The constant pounding on the shoulder, though, could be a reason to sit him against a Colts defense that has allowed just one touchdown pass over the past three weeks. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Byron Leftwich QB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/04/08, Time: 5:50 am
News: Leftwich completed seven of 10 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown in relief of Ben Roethlisberger on Monday night.
 Analysis:

Coach Mike Tomlin reportedly said after the game that his starter could have returned if needed despite an ailing right shoulder. Thus, it would seem likely that Roethlisberger will return for the Week 10 matchup with the Colts. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Derek Anderson QB, Cleveland Browns 11/03/08, Time: 7:07 pm
 Status:
Cold
News: Anderson has been benched by the Browns, in favor of Brady Quinn.
 Analysis:

This move isn't exactly shocking, but it does come at a strange time. Anderson has tossed six touchdown passes and just one interception over his past four games and has all three of his 200-yard games within that span. If Quinn struggles, Anderson could see the field again. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brady Quinn QB, Cleveland Browns 11/03/08, Time: 7:03 pm
News: Quinn will start Thursday night against the Broncos, as the team has decided to bench Derek Anderson.
 Analysis:

The move seems to come at a strange time, as Anderson has posted decent numbers over his past four games. Nevertheless, Quinn gets a nice matchup to start against a Denver defense that has yielded the second highest passer rating and highest completion percentage to opposing quarterbacks. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kellen Winslow TE, Cleveland Browns 11/03/08, Time: 8:38 am
News: Winslow caught five passes for 64 yards in Sunday's loss.
 Analysis:

It's nothing special, but his owners should be happy to see that line compared with Steve Heiden's two receptions for 25 yards. Winslow remains one of the team's main targets in the passing game. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Braylon Edwards WR, Cleveland Browns 11/03/08, Time: 8:36 am
 Status:
Steady
News: Edwards caught four passes for 86 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens on Sunday.
 Analysis:

He still isn't exciting fantasy owners, but Edwards has generally done enough over the past few weeks to maintain starter consideration after a terrible start. He should get a Champ Bailey-less Denver backfield on Thursday night. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jamal Lewis RB, Cleveland Browns 11/03/08, Time: 8:34 am
News: Lewis carried 19 times for just 49 yards in Sunday's loss to Baltimore.
 Analysis:

Meager fantasy option, very tough matchup -- this result was to be expected. Thursday night's meeting with Denver looks much more favorable. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Derek Anderson QB, Cleveland Browns 11/03/08, Time: 8:32 am
News: Anderson managed to complete just more than 50 percent of his passes but put up 219 yards and two touchdowns to go with an interception in Sunday's loss to Baltimore.
 Analysis:

It was a far sight better than his first performance against the Ravens this season and another indication that fantasy owners can get back to at least considering Anderson on a regular basis. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Donte Stallworth WR, Cleveland Browns 11/02/08, Time: 11:03 am
News: Donte' Stallworth is inactive today after reportedly aggravating the quad injury that kept him out of the season's first six games. Syndric Steptoe will start in his place but is certainly no fantasy starter. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Santonio Holmes WR, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/02/08, Time: 8:58 am
News: WR Santonio Holmes will be back in the starting lineup for the Steelers on Monday night and should certainly be motivated to perform well. He was deactivated a week ago following drug possession charges and then watched his team lose a close game at home to the Giants. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Willie Parker RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/02/08, Time: 8:50 am
News: Willie Parker should be back on the field Monday night for the Steelers, but Mewelde Moore is still expected to get plenty of work. Combine the uncertain work split with a matchup against Washington -- which has allowed 3.8 yards per carry and just four rushing touchdowns all season and hasn't let an opponent score 20 points since Week 4 -- and neither Parker nor Moore looks like a safe bet this week. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Troy Polamalu DB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/02/08, Time: 5:46 am
News: Troy Polamalu's first child, a boy named Paisos, arrived on Friday. That means the Steelers strong safety will be on hand Monday night when the Steelers travel to Washington. Proceed as usual with Polamalu in IDP lineups. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Willie Parker RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 11/01/08, Time: 6:03 am
News: Parker was a full practice participant late in the week and is probable for the Monday night game at Washington. He missed the past four games.
 Analysis:

His coaches say he isn't yet ready for a full workload and that Mewelde Moore will continue to get significant playing time. That status makes each player an iffy fantasy choice, though both could be considered for flex roles if you're in need. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mewelde Moore RB, Pittsburgh Steelers 10/31/08, Time: 10:57 am
News: Moore is going to lose carries to Willie Parker this week, however, Willie isn't expected to bat a full work load yet.
 Analysis:

Moore is still a good fantasy option as he has proven in past weeks. Though the healthier Parker gets the more one will have to look elsewhere for points. (SportsBuff.com)
