PLAYER UPDATES Provided By SportsBuff.com
Player: Terrell Owens WR, Dallas Cowboys 11/20/08, Time: 6:03 pm
News: Owen practiced in full on Thursday after missing practice on Wednesday with flu-like symptoms.
 Analysis:

Owens is expected to be recovered for the Cowboys' game against San Francisco on Sunday and is a must-start. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Harris LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/20/08, Time: 5:42 pm
 Status:
Out
News: Harris remains sidelined as he is still recovering from groin surgery.
 Analysis:

Harris has been a tackle machine for the Jets and should be kept on your radar in IDP leagues as he gets closer to returning to action. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Felix Jones RB, Dallas Cowboys 11/20/08, Time: 2:48 pm
 Status:
Out
News: The watch for Jones' return can finally end. ProFootballTalk.com reports that the Cowboys announced Thursday that Jones will have surgery to repair a big-toe ligament he tore while rehabbing the hamstring that had been keeping him out. The rookie has been placed on injured reserve.
 Analysis:

As long as his rehab goes all right, Jones should return as a fantasy flex option next season. Tashard Choice hasn't done anything to marginalize Jones while filling in. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jason Witten TE, Dallas Cowboys 11/20/08, Time: 6:41 am
News: Witten was limited in Cowboys' practice on Wednesday as he is still bothered by sore ribs.
 Analysis:

Witten will continue to play but his production might slip until he fully heals from the injury. Witten has only three catches for 42 yards in his last three games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Marion Barber RB, Dallas Cowboys 11/18/08, Time: 1:38 pm
News: Barber registered 150 total yards of offense to go along with a touchdown in Week 11. With the offense relying more on the ground game while Tony Romo heals, Barber is an excellent play.
 Analysis:

Consider him a solid choice at No. 1 in Week 12. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Tony Romo QB, Dallas Cowboys 11/18/08, Time: 1:36 pm
News: Romo has some pretty uninspiring numbers on Sunday night throwing for 198 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. He did help his team get the win and will only improve as his health improves.
 Analysis:

There are better options in Week 12 than Romo but he is a winner. Consider him a No. 2 option at best. (SportsBuff.com0

Player: Terrell Owens WR, Dallas Cowboys 11/18/08, Time: 1:34 pm
News: The T.O. melt-down watch has begun. Owens had just five catches for 38 yards on Sunday night and the return of Tony Romo did nothing for his bottom line.
 Analysis:

T.O. is still a big time player but it is hard to predict his worth right now. Romo is back but obviously not completely healed so look for other options in Week 12. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jason Witten TE, Dallas Cowboys 11/16/08, Time: 9:03 am
News: The return of Tony Romo tonight should help the value of Jason Witten, who will continue to play through a broken rib. He started against the Giants in Week 9 but didn't catch a pass. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Felix Jones RB, Dallas Cowboys 11/15/08, Time: 12:56 pm
 Status:
Out
News: It had been hoped that Jones would be ready to go this week, but he'll miss at least one more game with his injured hamstring.
 Analysis:

The coaching staff is being cautious with its rookie back. We'll see if he can offer any fantasy value the rest of the way. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Eric Barton LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:43 am
News: Barton led the Jets defense with 17 total tackles, 14 solo, and forced a fumble in the Jets' overtime win over the Patriots.
 Analysis:

Barton has stepped it up for the Jets defensively and has recorded 27 tackles over his last two games, 22 of which are solo. Barton is certainly worthy of a pickup if you are in need of a linebacker. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:39 am
News: Cotchery had five receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown on Thursday against New England.
 Analysis:

Cotchery made an outstanding one-handed catch for 46 yards and later went on to record his first touchdown in five games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Dustin Keller TE, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:36 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Keller had eight catches for 87 yards in Thursday's win over the Patriots.
 Analysis:

Keller has become Brett Favre's favorite target as of late and played a huge part in the Jets win. Keller now has 14 catches for 194 yards over his last two games. If Keller is still available in your league, pick him up right away. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Thomas Jones RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:33 am
News: Jones rushed the ball 30 times for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Jets OT win over the Patriots on Thursday.
 Analysis:

Jones rushed for over 100 yards for the second straight game and now has touchdowns in four straight games. Jones has six touchdowns over that span. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brett Favre QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/14/08, Time: 7:30 am
News: Favre completed 26-of-33 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns on Thursday in the Jets 34-31 OT win over New England.
 Analysis:

Favre played one of his best games of the season for the Jets as he did not turn the ball over. The Jets face a tough match up next week against Tennessee. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Marion Barber RB, Dallas Cowboys 11/13/08, Time: 10:46 am
News: Barber is another player that will benefit from the return of Tony Romo. He was shut down the past few games because Dallas had virtually no passing threat with Brad Johnson at QB.
 Analysis:

Barber is a very good running back and should be considered a low-end No. 1 running back this week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Terrell Owens WR, Dallas Cowboys 11/13/08, Time: 10:43 am
News: Owens has struggled his season and has been very quiet since the injury to Tony Romo. He has yet to register a 100-yard game this season.
 Analysis:

Look for Owens and Romo to share that big, bright prime time spotlight on Sunday night. Owens is way overdue for a breakout game. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Tony Romo QB, Dallas Cowboys 11/13/08, Time: 10:42 am
News: Romo is expected to make his return to the line-up in Week 11 against the Redskins on Sunday night. The Cowboys have struggled since Romo broke his pinky.
 Analysis:

Romo loves the bright lights and a prime time game on Sunday night could be just what the doctor ordered. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Harris LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/13/08, Time: 10:17 am
 Status:
Out
News: Harris will miss his third straight game tonight because of an injured groin. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Tony Romo QB, Dallas Cowboys 11/13/08, Time: 7:57 am
 Status:
Probable
News: Romo, who is coming back from a broken pinkie finger, practiced in full on Wednesday.
 Analysis:

Romo will wear a splint on the finger and is expected to start against Washington on Sunday. Unless he suffers a setback, get Romo back into your starting lineup right away. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/12/08, Time: 7:31 am
News: Cotchery, who has been suffering from a shoulder injury, was limited in practice on Tuesday.
 Analysis:

Cotchery is still expected to be in the starting lineup against the Patriots on Thursday and should improve on his one catch for 18 yards in the Jets win over the Rams. Consider Cotchery a solid WR2 against New England. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ty Law DB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/11/08, Time: 8:13 am
News: The Jets signed Law to a one-year contract on Monday.
 Analysis:

Law is expected to be active against New England on Thursday but it is unclear what role he will have or how much he will even play. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kris Jenkins DT, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:20 pm
News: Jenkins beat a battered interior Bills line for two sacks in the Jets' victory on Sunday. That gives him three for the year, matching his best season total since 2003.
 Analysis:

Don't expect it to be a sign of things to come. Jenkins is a very good player, just not the kind who tends to show it with numbers. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Darrelle Revis DB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:16 pm
News: Revis had a big day in the win at Buffalo, notching a sack, an interception and a fumble recovery to go with five tackles (four solo).
 Analysis:

Revis is a solid IDP option, though his value tends to rely on him making a couple of plays on the ball in coverage. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Laveranues Coles WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:14 pm
News: Coles caught just three passes for 40 yards on Sunday in Buffalo.
 Analysis:

That's going to happen from time to time. It doesn't mean you should be wary of using him going forward. Of course, it would be nice for Coles owners if Brett Favre could pick it up a bit. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:12 pm
News: Cotchery tied for the team lead with six catches on Sunday and paced the Jets with 62 receiving yards.
 Analysis:

Cotchery has been a much better point-per-reception player this season than he has been in leagues that don't score catches. That's not helped by Brett Favre's recent touchdown drought. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Leon Washington RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:10 pm
News: Washington came back to Earth on Sunday, carrying seven times for 13 yards and catching two passes for 42. He scored two touchdowns a week ago in the victory over Kansas City.
 Analysis:

Washington might be fantasy worthy if Thomas Jones were to get hurt. Any scoring he does outside of that, though, should be viewed as fluky -- at least until the team starts going to him much more often. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Thomas Jones RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:07 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Jones took 12 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory and caught six passes for 38 more yards. The score was Jones' fifth in the past four games.
 Analysis:

The Jets could certainly stand to hand Jones the ball a bit more often, but it's encouraging that he's getting the touchdown carries. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brett Favre QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 9:05 pm
 Status:
Cold
News: Favre went 19-for-28 in Sunday's win over the Bills but tossed an interception and didn't connect for a touchdown.
 Analysis:

Actually, that's not true. Favre did hit Buffalo corner Jabari Greer for a score. It was the second time in three weeks that Favre failed to throw a touchdown pass to his own team ... and the second straight game in which he did throw one to the opponent. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brooks Bollinger QB, Dallas Cowboys 11/02/08, Time: 7:10 pm
 Status:
Cold
News: Cowboy fans got what they were chanting for - an appearance by Bollinger. He relieved Brad Johnson and went 9-for-16 for 63 yards, a TD, and an interception.
 Analysis:

Terrell Owens did catch the TD, but it was about the only highlight of the 35-14 loss against the Giants. Tony Romo may be back after the Week 9 bye, so Bollinger may have seen his last action of the season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brett Favre QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 10:33 am
News: According to Jets beat writer Mike Canizzaro, the Bills have allowed 77 percent completions over the past three games and picked off just one pass. That can only help Brett Favre, who has been erratic lately. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Brad Johnson QB, Dallas Cowboys 11/02/08, Time: 9:39 am
News: Today's game against the Giants is too important for the Cowboys to stick with a struggling Brad Johnson, if he continues to struggle today. Brooks Bollinger got some first-team reps during the week and should be in waiting to step in if needed. Johnson is a terrible fantasy option today. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Anthony Henry DB, Dallas Cowboys 11/02/08, Time: 9:21 am
News: The troubled Cowboys' defensive backfield will get a little help with the return of CB Anthony Henry today. Henry is a decent IDP option when healthy. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: David Harris LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 11/02/08, Time: 8:55 am
News: ILB David Harris didn't even make the trip to Buffalo with his team this weekend and will miss today's game with hip and groin injuries. It's just as well, as he has been a big IDP disappointment thus far. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Jason Witten TE, Dallas Cowboys 11/02/08, Time: 8:44 am
News: Jason Witten will be a game-time decision today with his fractured rib. Because his game time is 4 p.m. (Eastern), though, many fantasy owners will have to make the call before official word is given. It's not a bad idea to go with another starter, especially because you'll need to have another tight end on hand anyway to fill in during Witten's Week 10 bye. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/31/08, Time: 1:43 pm
 Status:
Probable
News: Cotchery was limited again in practice this week by a shoulder injury that had him questionable in Week 8. He played in that game and caught nine passes for 102 yards.
 Analysis:

He'll probably carry the same designation into this week, but there's no reason to believe that Cotchery might miss Sunday's game. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Laveranues Coles WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/31/08, Time: 1:41 pm
 Status:
Hot Questionable
News: Coles continues to be limited in practice during the week by a thigh injury that has been present all season.
 Analysis:

He's likely to stay listed as questionable for Sunday's game again, but there's no reason to believe he won't play. Coles is having a very good season thus far and remains a strong option. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Harris LB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/31/08, Time: 1:38 pm
 Status:
Cold Doubtful
News: Harris missed practice all week with injuries to a hip and his groin. It doesn't appear likely that he'll play on Sunday.
 Analysis:

No big loss for fantasy owners, as he has been an IDP disappointment all season, anyway. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jason Witten TE, Dallas Cowboys 10/30/08, Time: 4:28 am
 Status:
Questionable
News: Witten missed practice Wednesday because of the broken rib he suffered Sunday. He has said that he hopes to play in Week 9.
 Analysis:

The player always hopes to play, but we probably won't know before the weekend whether he will. It's probably a good idea to go ahead and pick up another option, which you'll need in Week 10 anyway to cover Dallas' bye. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jesse Chatman RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/29/08, Time: 9:56 am
News: The Jets placed HB Jesse Chatman on IR ending his season. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Erik Ainge QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/29/08, Time: 9:53 am
News: The Jets placed QB Erik Ainge on injured reserve ending his season. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Brad Johnson QB, Dallas Cowboys 10/28/08, Time: 11:34 am
News: Brad Johnson did enough in Week 8 to help his team stop a two-game skid. He was unspectacular in the Week 8 win against Tampa.
 Analysis:

Johnson will most likely get another start in Week 9 against the Giants in the Meadowlands. He is a very risky play in all fantasy formats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Terrell Owens WR, Dallas Cowboys 10/28/08, Time: 11:32 am
News: Owens had only five catches for 33 yards in Week 8. T.O. has gone three consecutive weeks without a touchdown reception.
 Analysis:

T.O. will continue to struggle in Week 9 against the G-men. The Giants have an outstanding secondary and Brad Johnson will once again line up under center for the Cowboys. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Roy Williams WR, Dallas Cowboys 10/28/08, Time: 11:30 am
News: Williams had two catches for 10 yards in Week 8. One of those catches was a fade route in the end zone for a touchdown.
 Analysis:

Williams will get increasingly more dangerous as he gets to know the playbook. The Cowboys face a tough test in Week 9, in the Meadowlands against the division leading Giants. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerricho Cotchery WR, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/27/08, Time: 11:28 am
News: Cotchery caught 9 passes for 102 yards in the Jets win over Kansas City.
 Analysis:

Cotchery continues to show he is a big time wide receiver who can rack up catches and yards with a gun slinging QB. Continue to play Cotchery every week.(SportsBuff.com)

Player: Leon Washington RB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/27/08, Time: 11:26 am
News: Leon Washington had a big day in minimal time. He carried 3 times for 67 yards and a TD and caught 3 passes for 34 yards and a td.
 Analysis:

Washington remains a very risky play, he has breakaway speed but still sits behind Thomas Jones on the depth chart. Wait till he surpasses Jones to permanently play him in fantasy. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brett Favre QB, N.Y. Jets Jets 10/27/08, Time: 11:24 am
News: Favre struggled early against the Chiefs but still managed to lead his team to the go ahead touchdown. Favre finished with 290 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 3 INTs.
 Analysis:

Cause for concern for Favre owners. He put up mediocre numbers against a bad Chiefs D. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Roy Williams WR, Dallas Cowboys 10/26/08, Time: 2:46 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Williams caught his first TD with the Cowboys.
 Analysis:

He only had two catches for ten yards, but if you played him and got six points, you are happy. It will be interesting to see what happens with Williams when Tony Romo comes back. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Terrell Owens WR, Dallas Cowboys 10/26/08, Time: 2:44 pm
 Status:
Cold
News: Owens had yet another mediocre day against Tampa. He caught six passes for 33 yards.
 Analysis:

T.O. has not caught a TD in the last three games and has not received for more than 36 yards in any of those games. Perhaps he needs to get in Brad Johnson's ear and tell him he is open all day long. Or perhaps he just needs to shut up and play. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Marion Barber RB, Dallas Cowboys 10/26/08, Time: 2:43 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: Barber gutted out 71 yards against a Tampa defense that was aimed to stop him.
 Analysis:

Barber has only scored two TD's in the last five games after scoring five in the first three. Granted, Cowboy opponents no longer need to worry about Dallas throwing the ball, so whatever you get from Barber, you should be satisfied with. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brad Johnson QB, Dallas Cowboys 10/26/08, Time: 2:41 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Johnson was not able to take advantage of the Tampa defense crowding the line. He threw for just 122 yards and a TD.
 Analysis:

The days of Johnson being even a remotely effective QB are long since past. His accuracy and arm strength look like those of a 40-year-old man. Wait a minute - he's how old? (SportsBuff.com)
