PLAYER UPDATES Provided By SportsBuff.com
Player: Dwight Freeney DE, Indianapolis Colts 11/20/08, Time: 6:38 am
News: Freeney did not practice on Wednesday as the Colts' decided to rest him.
 Analysis:

Freeney has battled injuries all year but has played well with seven sacks and three forced fumbles. Freeney will play in Week 12 against the Chargers. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Anthony Gonzalez WR, Indianapolis Colts 11/16/08, Time: 10:44 am
News: Anthony Gonzalez and Reggie Wayne are both active and available for the Colts today. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Bob Sanders DB, Indianapolis Colts 11/16/08, Time: 10:42 am
News: Bob Sanders in inactive for today's game. IDP owners need to look for a replacement. His fill-in Melvin Bullitt should be a solid option. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: John Henderson DT, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/16/08, Time: 9:43 am
News: DT John Henderson will miss his second straight game today, which should make running the ball even easier for the Titans today. They had little trouble the first time they faced the Jaguars anyway. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/16/08, Time: 6:40 am
News: Matt Jones will be a game-time decision today because of a thigh bruise. He draws a tough matchup with the Titans and would likely face Cortland Finnegan most of the day, if not the whole day. You'd be better off with another option this week. In case you don't have another attractive one, though, we'll keep an eye on his playing status all morning. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/15/08, Time: 12:35 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Jones missed practice on Friday with a thigh bruise and will be a game-time decision on Sunday.
 Analysis:

He'll have a tough matchup anyway with Tennessee, so you'd probably be better off going in another direction if possible. We'll keep an eye on the situation on Sunday morning, though. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Anthony Gonzalez WR, Indianapolis Colts 11/15/08, Time: 12:26 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Gonzalez is listed as questionable for Sunday with a touchy hamstring. He practice fully on Friday, though, and is expected to play.
 Analysis:

Gonzalez is a decent option. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Robert Mathis DE, Indianapolis Colts 11/15/08, Time: 12:24 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Mathis is listed as questionable with a foot injury. He was a full practice participant on Friday, though, and doctors said Thursday that he should be able to play.
 Analysis:

Mathis is a solid IDP line starter against the Texans. Go ahead and use him. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Bob Sanders DB, Indianapolis Colts 11/15/08, Time: 12:22 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Sanders missed practice Friday because of the knee he recently had surgery on. He's listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with Houston.
 Analysis:

There hasn't been any particular reported setback, so it seems like Sanders will probably play. We'll keep an eye out on Sunday morning. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Reggie Wayne WR, Indianapolis Colts 11/15/08, Time: 12:17 pm
News: Wayne, who has been suffering from a knee injury, is expected to play in Week 11 against the Texans.
 Analysis:

Wayne is a must-start fantasy option when healthy and should definitely be in your starting lineup. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/15/08, Time: 12:09 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Jones missed practice on Friday with a thigh injury and will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Titans.
 Analysis:

Jones has been playing well for Jacksonville this season, recording at least five catches in all but one game but is a risky start this week against Tennessee. He should be benched if you have a better option at wide receiver. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jerry Porter WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/11/08, Time: 9:53 am
News: Porter caught his first touchdown pass of the season in Sunday's victory at Detroit.
 Analysis:

He still caught just two balls total, though, giving him five for the season. Porter needs to get more work before he becomes a viable fantasy starter. If Matt Jones ever actually gets suspended, it could help Porter's cause. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Maurice Jones-Drew RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/11/08, Time: 9:16 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Jones-Drew picked up 70 yards and three touchdowns on his 11 carries against the Lions on Sunday. It marked the fourth time in the past five games that he has found the end zone.
 Analysis:

Jones-Drew has had a disappointing season so far, but the disappointment overshadows the fact that he has scored in six of nine games and is on pace to score more touchdowns than the 15 he notched as a breakout rookie in 2006. This week brings a tough matchup in the Titans, but Jones-drew is a better option than he might seem going forward. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Fred Taylor RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/11/08, Time: 9:12 am
News: Taylor gave notice that he's still alive on Sunday by carrying 18 times for 80 yards in the victory over the Lions.
 Analysis:

He'll have to do more than that to prove worthy of being owned again in fantasy leagues, though. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Garrard QB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/11/08, Time: 9:10 am
News: Garrard threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win at Detroit. It was the second time in three games that he has tossed a pair of scoring passes.
 Analysis:

Unfortunately for Garrard, Week 11 brings a much tougher matchup in Tennessee. That pair of two-touchdown outings marks the only two times he's done that this year. Conversely, he threw two picks in the first meeting with the Titans. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/09/08, Time: 11:41 am
News: Despite being well enough to practice this week for the first time in a while, WR Mike Walker is inactive for today's game in Detroit. We'll see if it's just a matter of trying to get him healthier for the rest of the schedule. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Mike Peterson LB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/09/08, Time: 11:40 am
News: DT John Henderson was expected to be out for today's game, but the team has also deactivated MLB Mike Peterson. Peterson was sent home midweek for apparent attitude-related issues. This is the final year on his contract, so it wouldn't be surprising if he's done as a starter in Jacksonville. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/08/08, Time: 12:00 pm
 Status:
Probable
News: Walker was a full practice participant this week for the first time since hurting his knee during a breakout performance in Week 5. He is listed as probable for the game at Detroit.
 Analysis:

Although he could well be worth owning the rest of the way for a team that could still lose Matt JOnes for three games at any time, Walker would be a risky start this week. He doesn't have a long enough track record to plug back in after a three-game layoff. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Marvin Harrison WR, Indianapolis Colts 11/03/08, Time: 12:41 pm
 Status:
Cold
News: Harrison caught four passes for 50 yards in the Sunday night victory but failed to score for the third straight game and the fourth time in five games.
 Analysis:

Harrison is no better than a candidate for a No. 3 fantasy receiver slot each week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Anthony Gonzalez WR, Indianapolis Colts 11/03/08, Time: 12:39 pm
News: Gonzalez caught four passes for 55 yards Sunday night, including both of Peyton Manning's touchdown tosses. They were the second-year receiver's first two scores of the season.
 Analysis:

Those of us who drafted Gonzalez as insurance for Marvin Harrison are now stuck with the weekly crapshoot between the two, trying to guess which (if either) might find the end zone. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Reggie Wayne WR, Indianapolis Colts 11/03/08, Time: 12:37 pm
News: Despite heading into the game questionable with a bad knee, Wayne started and led Colts receivers with five catches and 65 yards.
 Analysis:

The lack of touchdowns kept it from being a productive fantasy night, but he's a weekly starter nonetheless. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Joseph Addai RB, Indianapolis Colts 11/03/08, Time: 12:35 pm
News: Addai returned to the lineup Sunday night, carrying 17 times for 32 yards and catching two passes for 10 more. He had missed the previous two games with a hamstring injury.
 Analysis:

The weak numbers should have been expected against New England's tough front seven. Addai will have another tough matchup in Week 10 against Pittsburgh. Nevertheless, his fantasy owners should be happy to have him back well in advance of the playoffs. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Peyton Manning QB, Indianapolis Colts 11/03/08, Time: 12:32 pm
News: Manning hit on 21 of 29 passes Sunday night, for 254 yards and two touchdowns.
 Analysis:

That's more like it. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/03/08, Time: 7:27 am
 Status:
Steady
News: Jones caught seven passes for 69 yards against the Bengals on Sunday, the third straight game in which he caught at least seven passes.
 Analysis:

Jones has hauled in at least five balls in every game but one this season, suddenly making him quite a steady and thus valuable PPR performer. A three-game league suspension still looms, pending appeal, but he's a starter until that becomes official. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Fred Taylor RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/03/08, Time: 7:25 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Taylor carried just five times for 12 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
 Analysis:

Taylor is not worth owning in fantasy leagues at this point. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Maurice Jones-Drew RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/03/08, Time: 7:20 am
News: The frustration continues for fantasy owners, as Jones-Drew garnered just 10 carries in Sunday's loss, picking up 33 yards and a touchdown.
 Analysis:

Jones-Drew has gotten more than 12 carries just twice this season. Those two games just happen to have been his two best per-carry performances for the year so far. The Jaguars' willingness to load up on pass plays at the expense of a much stronger running game is inexplicable and severely hampers Jones-Drew's fantasy value. At least he has reached the end zone in five of eight games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Garrard QB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/03/08, Time: 7:17 am
News: Garrard threw an interception for the first time since Week 3 in an embarrassing loss to the Bengals on Sunday. He also failed to toss a touchdown pass while compiling 229 yards.
 Analysis:

Garrard won't be a dominant fantasy performer any time soon, but he seemed to be at least a safe play against the Bengals. It's tough to trust anything Jaguar these days, though, except for Matt Jones. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Reggie Wayne WR, Indianapolis Colts 11/02/08, Time: 1:28 pm
News: Reggie Wayne says he'll play against the Patriots tonight. He was limited all week by a knee injury. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Reggie Williams WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/02/08, Time: 9:58 am
News: Reggie Williams returned to full practice by the end of the week after being limited by a hamstring injury. He should be starting today at Cincinnati and could be a No. 3 receiver option for fantasy owners searching. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Reggie Wayne WR, Indianapolis Colts 10/31/08, Time: 8:05 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: The knee injury that limited Wayne in practice this week has him listed as questionable for the Sunday night game against New England. He'll reportedly be a game-time decision.
 Analysis:

The fact that game time doesn't come until about 8:15 that night means that fantasy owners will either have to gamble that he'll be available or risk missing his numbers by going ahead and using someone else. For what it's worth, ESPN's John Clayton says the fact that Wayne was "out there trying to do some things" in practice is a bit encouraging. He wouldn't be the first guy to do some practicing and then miss the game, though. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/31/08, Time: 11:00 am
News: Jones still has yet to hear from the league on his suspension. He should still play this weekend.
 Analysis:

With the Jags facing a must win situation given the Titans 7-0 start, Jones could be primed for a big week before an impending suspension will sideline him. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Bob Sanders DB, Indianapolis Colts 10/30/08, Time: 6:17 am
 Status:
Questionable
News: According to The Associated Press, Coach Tony Dungy expects to have Sanders back on the field Sunday night, barring any setbacks to his sprained ankle in practice.
 Analysis:

Sanders has been out since Week 2 but probably wouldn't take too long to round back into valuable IDP form once he returns. It might not hurt to try to wait a week before playing him, but if he's your best option, he's worth a shot. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Joseph Addai RB, Indianapolis Colts 10/30/08, Time: 6:15 am
 Status:
Questionable
News: The Associated Press reports that, barring any setback in practice, Coach Tony Dungy expects Addai to return this week against New England.
 Analysis:

The Patriots have not allowed a rushing touchdown since Week 3, so Addai might not be all that strong a fantasy play even if he does return this week. If you can, wait to see him in action before returning him to your lineup. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Joseph Addai RB, Indianapolis Colts 10/29/08, Time: 9:42 am
News: Addai has an injury that will leave him questionable for this weekends game.
 Analysis:

Coach Tony Dungy did not give any further insight other than to say Addai is questionable.

Player: Peyton Manning QB, Indianapolis Colts 10/29/08, Time: 9:40 am
News: With speculation about his arm being injured, Colts GM Bill Polian refuted that notion saying Peyton is fine.
 Analysis:

Fine or not Peyton and the Colts aren't fine this year and with the Titans at 7-0 the Colts could be looking at the Wild Card if that. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Matt Jones WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/28/08, Time: 11:10 am
News: Jones is still awaiting word on his status following his appeal of his three game suspension.
 Analysis:

I wouldn't expect the league to reduce the suspension any, Jones owners may have him for this week as his appeal might not be heard. However, I would watch closely. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Bob Sanders DB, Indianapolis Colts 10/28/08, Time: 9:56 am
 Status:
Questionable
News: Despite being upgraded to questionable for Week 8, Sanders was once again deactivated.
 Analysis:

The safety appears to be nearing a return, but IDP owners should probably wait until he completes a game before putting him back into fantasy lineups. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Gary Brackett LB, Indianapolis Colts 10/28/08, Time: 9:53 am
News: Brackett led all players with nine solo tackles in the Colts' Monday night loss to Tennessee.
 Analysis:

Brackett continues to be a good IDP option. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Dallas Clark TE, Indianapolis Colts 10/28/08, Time: 9:46 am
 Status:
Hot
News: Clark led all players with 94 receiving yards on Monday night to go with seven catches and two touchdowns.
 Analysis:

That, folks, is why you just pick a tight end and leave him alone. Clark went into the Monday night game with no touchdowns for the season. He has caught 15 passes in the past two games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Dominic Rhodes RB, Indianapolis Colts 10/28/08, Time: 9:44 am
News: Rhodes had a ho-hum rushing night on Monday, taking 17 carries for 70 yards. He caught a whopping eight passes, however, to lead everyone in the game and thrill PPR owners. It was his second straight start in place of Joseph Addai.
 Analysis:

Rhodes has caught a pretty impressive 19 passes in his limited time on the field this year, which bodes well for his continued fantasy value as long as Addai is out. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Peyton Manning QB, Indianapolis Colts 10/28/08, Time: 9:41 am
News: Manning threw for 223 yards, two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions in the Monday night loss at Tennessee.
 Analysis:

It appears as though one of his off-season knee surgeries included implanting Eli's passing skills. The elder Manning is putting up numbers that have been more customary from his younger brother, though he at least remains a solid fantasy starter. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Bob Sanders DB, Indianapolis Colts 10/26/08, Time: 12:33 pm
News: Bob Sanders has been upgraded to questionable this week but has yet to return to full practice. He has been out since Week 2 with a shoulder injury and knee surgery. Don't start him just yet, but he could be an IDP factor in Week 9. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Marlin Jackson DB, Indianapolis Colts 10/26/08, Time: 12:32 pm
News: CB Marlin Jackson remains listed as questionable following Saturday practices. IDP owners can't wait on him because of the Monday night game. The Colts have no reason to make a decision on his playing status before tomorrow. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Joseph Addai RB, Indianapolis Colts 10/26/08, Time: 12:31 pm
News: RB Joseph Addai has been upgraded to questionable this week, but there has been no report of him returning to the practice field. Consider him out as you set your lineup. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Bob Sanders DB, Indianapolis Colts 10/26/08, Time: 8:05 am
News: Bob Sanders has been upgraded to questionable this week but has yet to return to full practice. He has been out since Week 2 with a shoulder injury and knee surgery. Don't start him just yet, but he could be an IDP factor in Week 9. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Joseph Addai RB, Indianapolis Colts 10/25/08, Time: 7:55 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Addai has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable, even though he still has yet to practice.
 Analysis:

Don't expect him to play this week, though maybe the upgrade is a signal that Addai could return in Week 9. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Anthony Gonzalez WR, Indianapolis Colts 10/23/08, Time: 11:39 am
News: Gonzalez has been solid in the slot position for the Colts. He had five receptions for 72 yards in Week 7 against the Packers.
 Analysis:

The Titans are a great defensive team and Gonzalez will struggle to get open looks on Monday night. Consider him only if you have to. (SportsBuf.com)

Player: Joseph Addai RB, Indianapolis Colts 10/23/08, Time: 11:38 am
News: Addai is still listed as questionable for Week 8 and still has yet to practice this week. Addai is nursing an injured hamstring the he injured in Week 6.
 Analysis:

Addai has put up respectable fantasy numbers so far this season but the Colts are nowhere near what they have been the past six seasons. Monitor his progress this week but consider him a risky play for Monday night against the Titans. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Peyton Manning QB, Indianapolis Colts 10/23/08, Time: 11:36 am
News: Manning had only 229 yards passing and had two interceptions returned for touchdowns in a Week 7 loss to the Packers. The absence of starting running back Joseph Addai makes passing yards hard to come by for the Colts.
 Analysis:

The Colts face the undefeated Titan this week in Tennessee and the Titans can put a lot of pressure on a quarterback. Don?t look to Manning for any huge numbers this week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Joseph Addai RB, Indianapolis Colts 10/19/08, Time: 8:25 am
News: Contrary to reports from earlier this week, RB Joseph Addai's injured hamstring is reportedly not partially torn. Although he probably won't play today, he might be back sooner than initially anticipated. (SportsBuff.com)
