PLAYER UPDATES Provided By SportsBuff.com
Player: Brian Westbrook RB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/20/08, Time: 6:01 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Westbrook sat out of practice on Thursday to rest his sprained ankle and sore ribs.
 Analysis:

Westbrook has not played well lately and is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Donovan McNabb QB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/19/08, Time: 10:31 am
News: McNabb posted good fantasy numbers in a Week 11 tie against Cincinnati, but was picked off three times and has turned the ball over five times in the last three games.
 Analysis:

There seems to be no interest from Andy Reid to bench the scuffling McNabb with Kevin Kolb. Consider him a low-end option for Week 12 against Baltimore. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kevin Curtis WR, Philadelphia Eagles 11/19/08, Time: 10:29 am
News: Curtis has seemed to find his stride since coming back for his surgery for a sports hernia. In Week 11 he caught seven balls for 64 yards in the ugly tie against Cincinnati last week.
 Analysis:

Curtis is excellent for a PPR league because he is targeted so many times in a game. He is a solid choice at No. 2. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: L.J. Smith TE, Philadelphia Eagles 11/19/08, Time: 10:28 am
News: Smith caught a touchdown pass in Week 11 against Cincinnati and with the injuries to Brian Westbrook, has become a bigger option near the goal line.
 Analysis:

Smith does not get a lot of balls thrown his way but he sure is effective when he gets his hands on one. Look for Smith to be a larger part of the Philadelphia red-zone offense. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Correll Buckhalter RB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/19/08, Time: 10:26 am
News: Buckhalter has gotten a fair amount of work with the injuries to Westbrook. He had a 44 yard pass reception in Week 11 and could get more work in Week 12.
 Analysis:

Keep him in reserve but do not be surprised if he is more of the featured back in the third-and-passing situation with Westbrook still banged up and facing the Ravens defense. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brian Westbrook RB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/19/08, Time: 10:25 am
News: Westbrook has been nowhere near as productive as fantasy owners need him to be. He is far from healthy and the Baltimore defense awaits him in Week 12.
 Analysis:

Westbrook has been reduced to a low-end No. 1 or possibly even a No. 2 option at RB with his less-than-stellar performances in the past three weeks. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Fred Jackson RB, Buffalo Bills 11/18/08, Time: 4:29 pm
News: Jackson carried the ball a season-high 12 times for 60 yards on Monday against Cleveland.
 Analysis:

The 60 yards was a season-best for Jackson but he did lose a fumble in the game. Jackson does not see enough touches to have much fantasy value expect as a flex based on the match up. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Lee Evans WR, Buffalo Bills 11/18/08, Time: 6:29 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Evans failed to catch a pass on Monday in the Bills' loss to Cleveland.
 Analysis:

Evans was only targeted once all game by Trent Edwards. He has been quiet lately with only six receptions for 63 yards in his last three games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Marshawn Lynch RB, Buffalo Bills 11/18/08, Time: 6:24 am
News: Lynch rushed 23 times for 119 yards, and also had 10 receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown against Cleveland on Monday.
 Analysis:

This was Lynch's best game of the season as he topped 100 rushing yards for the first time and recorded his first receiving touchdown. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Trent Edwards QB, Buffalo Bills 11/18/08, Time: 6:21 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Edwards was 16-of-26 for 148 yards and three interceptions in a 29-27 loss to the Browns'
 Analysis:

Despite the three interceptions, Edwards did throw for a touchdown and ran for one as well. Edwards has only three touchdown passes and seven interceptions in his last three games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kevin Curtis WR, Philadelphia Eagles 11/16/08, Time: 4:17 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Curtis led the Eagle receivers with seven catches and added 64 yards.
 Analysis:

Curtis had some great games last year but a number of them came with Jeff Garcia as the Eagle QB. He will likely become one of the leading targets for Donovan McNabb, so he might be a worthy waiver wire pick if he's still available in your league. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brian Westbrook RB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/16/08, Time: 4:15 pm
 Status:
Cold
News: Westbrook had his third quiet week in a row with just 60 yards rushing and 11 yards receiving against Cincinnati.
 Analysis:

The Giants game showed that the Eagles are not adept at smash mouth football. Against Cincinnati, Coach Andy Reid went pass wacky, but still came out with just a tie (which is as good as a loss against the Bengals). Westbrook faces the Ravens next week so it might be a good week to sit him. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Donovan McNabb QB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/16/08, Time: 4:13 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: McNabb had a rough game against the uncharacteristically feisty Bengal defense. He gave up three interceptions and a fumble, but did manage to throw for a TD and 338 yards on 58 attempts.
 Analysis:

This was McNabb's first multi-interception game of the season. Hopefully, it is not a sign of things to come in the second half of the season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Donte Whitner DB, Buffalo Bills 11/15/08, Time: 1:00 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Whitner took part in some limited practice this week and hopes to play on Monday night. He missed last week's game after separating his shoulder against the Patriots.
 Analysis:

He'll probably be a game-time decision, so we can't wait for the Monday night start to make the lineup call. Go for another defensive back in his place. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: DeSean Jackson WR, Philadelphia Eagles 11/14/08, Time: 11:34 am
News: Jackson has been hampered with a strained groin but has yet to miss a game. The return of Kevin Curtis has cut into his activity but he remains a big play option for the Eagles.
 Analysis:

Consider Jackson a decent flex option if you must. Philadelphia has struggled to find offense lately and they looked much better earlier in the year when Jackson was posting big numbers. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: L.J. Smith TE, Philadelphia Eagles 11/14/08, Time: 11:31 am
News: Smith caught three balls for 36 yards in Week 10 and is a decent check-down receiver for Donovan McNabb. He has good hands and runs good routes.
 Analysis:

Smith might get a bit more attention this week against the pitiful Bengals. Consider him a solid No. 2 TE. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Correll Buckhalter RB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/14/08, Time: 11:29 am
News: Buckhalter had 21 yards in Week 10 and is not much more than an insurance policy for Brian Westbrook owners.
 Analysis:

Buckhalter has proven to be a decent back but will remain on the bench for as long as the multi-talented Westbrook remains healthy. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Marshawn Lynch RB, Buffalo Bills 11/11/08, Time: 10:52 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Lynch carried 14 times for just 46 yards in Sunday's loss to the Patriots.
 Analysis:

Lynch has had trouble accumulating yardage all season. He has now scored in just two of the past six games, however. A first-round pick in many leagues, Lynch is only an average fantasy option at this point, though the Browns could provide a favorable matchup this week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Trent Edwards QB, Buffalo Bills 11/11/08, Time: 10:49 am
 Status:
Cold
News: Edwards threw for just 120 yards and one touchdown while tossing two picks against the Patriots on Sunday.
 Analysis:

After making it through the first six games with just two interceptions, Edwards has been picked five times in the past three weeks. This week's matchup with a Browns defense that just allowed Jay Cutler to throw for 447 yards looks attractive, but Cleveland is also capable of grabbing some interceptions. They picked Eli Manning three times, for instance, in the Giants' only loss of the season so far. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: L.J. Smith TE, Philadelphia Eagles 11/09/08, Time: 8:55 am
News: TE L.J. Smith returned to full practice this week after missing the Seattle game with a concussion. The team?s second tight end, Brent Celek, had a big game in his absence and should continue getting looks, but Smith we regain his starting role. His only value lies in the fact that the Eagles spread the ball around, so anyone is liable to catch a touchdown pass from Donovan McNabb. If you start Smith, you have to do so knowing there?s a real possibility that he?ll catch just one or even zero passes. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Kawika Mitchell LB, Buffalo Bills 11/09/08, Time: 8:50 am
News: LB Kawika Mitchell was a limited practice participant this week because of an injured ankle, but he is expected to start. The ankle issue certainly makes him a less-than-safe choice, but there is scoring potential against a Pats offense whose running game should provide a decent number of tackle chances and whose pass offense remains vulnerable to sacks.
Player: Marshawn Lynch RB, Buffalo Bills 11/09/08, Time: 8:18 am
News: The Bills could be without both starting guards today on offense, which doesn't help Marshawn Lynch at all. The Bills' back already had a decently tough matchup with the Patriots and is averaging just 3.5 yards per carry on the season. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: L.J. Smith TE, Philadelphia Eagles 11/08/08, Time: 12:16 pm
News: Smith got back to full practice this week after missing the Week 9 contest with a concussion. He is expected to play on Sunday, and his coach has said that he'll reassume the starting role.
 Analysis:

Brent Celek had a huge day in Smith's absence last week and will probably continue to be a passing-game factor. Nevertheless, Smith's value has always resided in the possbility that he'll catch a TD pass in Philly's spread-it-around offense. If you start Smith, you should always do so knowing that an empty week is just as possible as redeeming any value. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Donte Whitner DB, Buffalo Bills 11/08/08, Time: 11:00 am
 Status:
Out
News: Whitner is out indefinitely with the shoulder separation he suffered against the Jets last week. Bryan Scott will start in his place.
 Analysis:

Scott has put up decent numbers in fill-in duty and could be a deep sleeper option for IDPers. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brian Westbrook RB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/05/08, Time: 3:50 pm
News: Westbrook was relatively quiet in Week 9 against Seattle. He has been great on the ground and solid through the air when he has been healthy.
 Analysis:

Westbrook is a must-start in all fantasy formats. If the Eagles are to beat the giants, Westbrook must have a big day. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kevin Curtis WR, Philadelphia Eagles 11/05/08, Time: 3:48 pm
News: Curtis has already become a favorite target of Donovan McNabb. He registered six catches for 83 yards in Week 9.
 Analysis:

Curtis is only going to get better as time goes on. He is only two games deep into his 2008 season and has shown no ill effects of his sports hernia injury. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Donovan McNabb QB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/05/08, Time: 3:47 pm
News: McNabb has been stellar so far this season and seems to be fully recovered from the blown-out knee from two seasons ago. The Giants come to town on Sunday and McNabb will be tested early.
 Analysis:

McNabb is still a must-start in all formats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Derek Fine TE, Buffalo Bills 11/02/08, Time: 9:41 pm
News: Fine caught four passes for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss. For the season, that gives him ... four catches, 43 yards and a touchdown.
 Analysis:

Don't expect this to be the breakout game for a sudden fantasy factor. We'll see, though, if the rookie can show the team enough to get the starting nod in 2009 ahead of Robert Royal. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Robert Royal TE, Buffalo Bills 11/02/08, Time: 9:36 pm
News: Royal led the team with five catches and 70 receiving yards in Sunday's loss to the Jets.
 Analysis:

With 24 catches through eight games, Royal is just one short of his career high for a season. He has become surprisingly useful as a fantasy tight end. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Marshawn Lynch RB, Buffalo Bills 11/02/08, Time: 9:33 pm
News: Lynch finished with just 58 total yards in the loss to the Jets on Sunday. He carried only nine times and caught three passes, missing the second quarter after flu-like symptoms left him nauseous following a play on which he chased Abram Elam about 90 yards downfield.
 Analysis:

Lynch has been going for terrible yardage totals, so his fantasy value is nullified when he misses the end zone. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Trent Edwards QB, Buffalo Bills 11/02/08, Time: 9:24 pm
News: Edwards went 24-of-35 in the loss to the Jets on Sunday, including a touchdown and two interceptions. It was his first multiple-interception game of the season, and one was returned for a touchdown by Jets safety Abram Elam.
 Analysis:

Edwards has been a model of efficiency for much of the season, but he has just one touchdown and three interceptions over the past two games. That doesn't bode well for his matchup next week with an intelligent, pressure-applying Patriots defense. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brent Celek TE, Philadelphia Eagles 11/02/08, Time: 7:05 pm
 Status:
Steady
News: Celek went from unproductive blocking tight end to featured receiver against the Seahawks. He hauled in six passes for 131 yards.
 Analysis:

Celek's previous highs were three catches and 28 yards (not in the same game). The second year tight end from Cincinnati got open and Donovan McNabb found him - repeatedly. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Donovan McNabb QB, Philadelphia Eagles 11/02/08, Time: 7:03 pm
 Status:
Hot
News: McNabb bounced back from an early interception to throw for two TD's and 349 yards.
 Analysis:

The yardage total was his high since Week 1 (361 yards) and it was only the second time he had thrown for multiple TD's since the opening week of the season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Aaron Schobel DE, Buffalo Bills 11/02/08, Time: 11:05 am
News: DE Aaron Schobel is once again inactive this week with a foot injury. He has been limited even when in the lineup and shouldn't be anywhere near IDP lineups any time soon. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Terrence McGee DB, Buffalo Bills 11/02/08, Time: 10:40 am
News: NFL Network reports that CB Terrence McGee will start today and, although he still isn't 100 percent following a knee injury, will not have to wear the knee brace he had last week. His weak performance against the Dolphins last week should bring plenty of balls his way today and give him the chance to offer a strong IDP performance. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: DeSean Jackson WR, Philadelphia Eagles 11/02/08, Time: 8:40 am
News: The suddenly crowded Eagles receiving corps figures to limit the fantasy prospects of rookie DeSean Jackson. He's expected to start ahead of the returning Reggie Brown today, but Donovan McNabb has appeared to lose some confidence in Jackson because of poor route running. Like Brown, Jackson is a No. 4/possible No. 3 fantasy option. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Reggie Brown WR, Philadelphia Eagles 11/02/08, Time: 8:38 am
News: Reggie Brown is expected to return to the field today but probably won't start at Seattle. He's no more than a fourth fantasy receiver or a possible No. 3 in deep leagues. He did catch 10 passes, though, over the two games in which he has been active this season. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Reggie Brown WR, Philadelphia Eagles 11/01/08, Time: 5:59 am
News: Brown's injured groin has healed to the point that he is probable for Sunday. He's not expected to start ahead of DeSean Jackson just yet, though all three should see significant time.
 Analysis:

It will be the first time this season that Brown and Curtis will take the field in the same game. Brown has 10 catches in his two outings so far, showing that Donovan McNabb will look for him when he's out there. The crowd at receiver for the Eagles, though, makes Brown something of a No. 4 fantasy wideout at this point, maybe a No. 3, depending on your options. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: L.J. Smith TE, Philadelphia Eagles 11/01/08, Time: 5:53 am
 Status:
Out
News: Smith will miss at least this week's game at Seattle because of the concussion suffered on a hit by Lawyer Milloy in Week 8. Brent Celek will start in his place. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: David Akers K, Philadelphia Eagles 10/31/08, Time: 12:45 pm
News: Akers has been a solid kicker for his entire career. The Philadelphia offense has been moving the football for most of the season and that usually translates into scoring opportunities for their kicker.
 Analysis:

Consider Akers a solid fantasy play in Week 9 in Seattle. The weather is expected to be mild in Seattle this weekend but with a chance for rain. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brian Westbrook RB, Philadelphia Eagles 10/31/08, Time: 12:43 pm
News: Westbrook hung 38 fantasy points last week and should deliver great fantasy numbers again this week. Westbrook took full practice reps all week.
 Analysis:

The Eagles play the Seahawks in a game that could feature a lot of offense. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kevin Curtis WR, Philadelphia Eagles 10/31/08, Time: 12:42 pm
News: Curtis is a solid No. 2 WR this week against Seattle. Curtis is the type of receiver that can take it to the house every time he touches the ball. (SportsBuff.com)
 Analysis:

Westbrook hung 38 fantasy points last week and should deliver great fantasy numbers again this week. Westbrook took full practice reps all week.

Player: Josh Reed WR, Buffalo Bills 10/28/08, Time: 10:55 am
News: Reed is sidelined indefinitely with injuries to his Achilles tendon and ankle.
 Analysis:

This will hurt Trent Edwards production as Reed has been one of Buffalo's most reliable third down threats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Trent Edwards QB, Buffalo Bills 10/27/08, Time: 10:31 am
News: Trent struggled against the Dolphins D. He only completed 21 of his 35 passes for 227 yards, no TDs, and 1 INT.
 Analysis:

Rough day for Edwards owners. Edwards needs more carries out of Lynch to keep D's more honest so he can throw to Evans and the rest of Buffalo WRs. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Lee Evans WR, Buffalo Bills 10/27/08, Time: 10:27 am
News: Lee Evans caught most of yardage that Trent Edwards threw for against the Dolphins. Evans caught 7 passes for 116 yards.
 Analysis:

Evans is one of the best wide receivers in the league and he shows it week after week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Marshawn Lynch RB, Buffalo Bills 10/27/08, Time: 10:18 am
News: Marshawn had a big day in PPR leagues. He ran for 61 yards and a touchdown while catching 5 passes for 34 yards.
 Analysis:

Good news for Lynch owners as the Bills struggled and were upset by the Phins, Lynch was still able to have a very nice game. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Lee Evans WR, Buffalo Bills 10/26/08, Time: 8:16 am
News: The Dolphins have allowed 23 pass plays of 20 or more yards this season, second most in the league. That bodes well for Buffalo's biggest big-play threat, WR Lee Evans, in Week 8. (SportsBuff.com)
Player: Kevin Curtis WR, Philadelphia Eagles 10/25/08, Time: 8:23 pm
 Status:
Probable
News: Curtis is listed as probable and expected to start for the first time this season. He had surgery for a sports hernia during the exhibition schedule.
 Analysis:

Curtis is bound to need a little time to get worked back into things, even if he's all the way back healthy. He probably has as good a chance as any receiver in the Eagles lineup of reaching the end zone, but he's not nearly the safest bet around. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Reggie Brown WR, Philadelphia Eagles 10/25/08, Time: 8:20 pm
 Status:
Questionable
News: Brown is listed as questionable with a groin injury this week, the third injury that has caused him to miss time this season.
 Analysis:

Even if he plays, it's tough to know how limited Brown might be. The crowd of receiving options figures to limit his potential as well, especially because he won't start. Kevin Curtis will join DeSean Jackson in the lineup. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brian Westbrook RB, Philadelphia Eagles 10/25/08, Time: 8:17 pm
 Status:
Probable
News: Westbrook was a full practice participant late this week and is expected to return to the starting lineup on Sunday. He missed the Week 6 trip to San Francisco with broken ribs.
 Analysis:

He should be in fantasy lineups whenever he's on the field. (SportsBuff.com)
