PLAYER UPDATES Provided By SportsBuff.com
Player: Kenny Britt WR, Tennessee Titans 11/13/09, Time: 8:43 am
News: Britt is expected to start on Sunday against the Bills now that Justin Gage appears very unlikely to play.
 Analysis:

Britt has only three catches in his last four games and has become a non-factor since bursting onto the fantasy scene earlier this season. He does have some upside this week against the poor Bills defense. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Justin Gage WR, Tennessee Titans 11/13/09, Time: 8:41 am
 Status:
Out
News: Gage has multiple fractures in his back and is unlikely to play against Buffalo on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Gage does not need surgery but it is unclear how much time he may miss. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Maurice Jones-Drew RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/13/09, Time: 8:39 am
News: Jones-Drew practiced on a limited basis with a knee injury on Thursday.
 Analysis:

The knee issue is new but it does not seem like it is serious. Expect MJD to be in the lineup against the Jets on Sunday. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Justin Gage WR, Tennessee Titans 11/12/09, Time: 7:55 am
News: Gage did not practice on Wednesday due to a back injury.
 Analysis:

Gage remains questionable to play in Week 10 against Buffalo. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chris Johnson RB, Tennessee Titans 11/11/09, Time: 8:28 am
News: Johnson will continue to get the majority of the carries going forward, according to the Tennessean.
 Analysis:

Not a surprise there as Johnson is one of the best running backs in the league. LenDale White has slowly been phased out of the offense. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Justin Gage WR, Tennessee Titans 11/11/09, Time: 8:26 am
News: The Tennessean reports that Gage remains sore after falling down hard making a catch last week against the 49ers.
 Analysis:

Gage is expected to be fine for Week 10 against the Bills. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Bo Scaife TE, Tennessee Titans 11/09/09, Time: 8:09 pm
News: Scaife had two catches for 20 yards on Sunday against San Francisco.
 Analysis:

Scaife has only 18 receptions so far this season and still has yet to score a touchdown. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Nate Washington WR, Tennessee Titans 11/09/09, Time: 8:08 pm
News: Washington caught three passes for 30 yards on Sunday against the 49ers.
 Analysis:

Washington has not had more than three receptions in four straight games despite scoring a touchdown last week. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Justin Gage WR, Tennessee Titans 11/09/09, Time: 8:07 pm
News: Gage caught four passes for 97 yards on Sunday against the 49ers.
 Analysis:

Gage had a season-best in receiving yards but left the game with an injury. Stay tuned. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: LenDale White RB, Tennessee Titans 11/09/09, Time: 8:06 pm
News: White had three yards on four carries against the 49ers on Sunday.
 Analysis:

White took a backseat to Chris Johnson and has done little for fantasy owners lately. He has only 198 yards rushing and one touchdown this season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chris Johnson RB, Tennessee Titans 11/09/09, Time: 8:04 pm
News: Johnson rushed 25 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers on Sunday. He also caught three passes for 25 yards.
 Analysis:

Johnson has rushed for over 125 yards in three straight games and now has four touchdowns in his past two games. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Vince Young QB, Tennessee Titans 11/09/09, Time: 7:47 pm
News: Young completed 12-of-19 passes for 172 yards and rushed five time for 14 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Young played well and did not turn the ball over. He did not throw a passing touchdown but was able to rush for his first touchdown of the season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Rashean Mathis DB, Jacksonville Jaguars 11/06/09, Time: 8:54 pm
News: Mathis (finger) is listed as probable this week against Kansas City.
 Analysis:

He's the Jaguars' best guy in their defensive backfield, but, frankly, that's not saying much this year. You shouldn't be looking for the Jacksonville team defense for much production. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Vince Young QB, Tennessee Titans 11/02/09, Time: 9:00 am
News: Young completed 15-for-18 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 12 times for 30 yards against the Jaguars.
 Analysis:

Young made his first start of the season and was effective in the Titans' first win of the season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chris Johnson RB, Tennessee Titans 11/02/09, Time: 8:59 am
News: Johnson rushed a season-high 24 times for 228 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 11 yards.
 Analysis:

Johnson had another monster game for the Titans' as he has rushed for over 100 yards three times this season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Cortland Finnegan DB, Tennessee Titans 10/29/09, Time: 9:31 pm
News: Finnegan returned to practice, albeit in a limited fashion, on Thursday. He has a good chance to play against Jacksonville.
 Analysis:

Finnegan's absence sent this unit's downward trajectory on warp speed. Getting him back should improve things a bit, though the Titans will still be thrown upon easily. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Nate Washington WR, Tennessee Titans 10/29/09, Time: 9:28 pm
News: Washington missed Thursday's practice with a quadricep injury and his status may be in doubt for the game against Jacksonville on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Keep checking on him as his matchup this week is a good one, even with Vince Young starting. He is a good play in PPR leagues. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Rashean Mathis DB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/27/09, Time: 12:23 am
News: Mathis is suffering from a broken index finger that is currently in a cast.
 Analysis:

Mathis is unlikely to practice all week and will be a game time decision against the Titans on Sunday. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Brett Kern P, Tennessee Titans 10/27/09, Time: 12:20 am
News: The Tennessean reports that the Titans have claimed punter Brett Kern over of waivers from Denver. They released punter Reggie Hodges in the process.
 Analysis:

Kern is averaging 46.1 yards per punt so far this season. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kerry Collins QB, Tennessee Titans 10/27/09, Time: 12:11 am
News: Collins could find himself as a backup in the very near future if coach Jeff Fisher listens to owner Bud Adams.
 Analysis:

Collins has done a decent job this season but at 0-7, the Titans need to take one more look in what they have in Vince Young. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Rashad Jennings RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/22/09, Time: 1:46 am
News: The Florida Times-Union reports that Jennings should see additional carries going forward.
 Analysis:

Jennings is the must-have handcuff for Maurice Jones-Drew owners but is not going to see enough action to warrant any fantasy value at the moment. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Ahmard Hall RB, Tennessee Titans 10/19/09, Time: 8:25 pm
News: Hall rushed one time for five yards and caught one pass for 15 yards against the Patriots on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Hall had the one long reception for the Titans on Sunday but he ended up losing a fumble. He has no fantasy value. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Nate Washington WR, Tennessee Titans 10/19/09, Time: 8:23 pm
News: Washington had one catch for minus 22 yards in the Titans' loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Washington has had a decent season so far and should be a decent play against the Jaguars in Week 8. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kenny Britt WR, Tennessee Titans 10/19/09, Time: 8:21 pm
News: Britt failed to record a catch for the first time all season as the Titans' were beat by the Patriots.
 Analysis:

Britt has 19 catches for 289 so far this season and still remains only a WR3/flex option in deeper leagues. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: LenDale White RB, Tennessee Titans 10/19/09, Time: 8:18 pm
News: White carried the ball six times for 15 yards and lost a fumble against the Patriots on Sunday.
 Analysis:

White suffered a knee injury as well but he will have time to rest it with the Titans' on a bye in Week 7. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chris Johnson RB, Tennessee Titans 10/19/09, Time: 8:13 pm
News: Johnson had 17 carries for 128 total yards Sunday against the Patriots.
 Analysis:

Johnson rushed for over 100 yards for the second time this season as he averaged 7.5 yards per carry against New England. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Vince Young QB, Tennessee Titans 10/19/09, Time: 8:10 pm
News: Young came in the game in the third quarter on Sunday against the Titans. He did not complete a pass on two attempts. He did however throw an interception.
 Analysis:

Young could very well be the starter for the Titans in Week 7 against Jacksonville but he is certainly not worthy of a starting spot in any league at the moment. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kerry Collins QB, Tennessee Titans 10/19/09, Time: 8:08 pm
News: Collins completed only 2-of-12 passes for minus seven yards on Sunday against the Patriots. He also threw an interception.
 Analysis:

It was an awful day for Collins and the Titans and he was replaced by Vince Young for a second straight game. It may be time for the Titans to once again see what they have in Young so Collins' days as a starter could be limited on the 0-6 Titans. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Garrard QB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/18/09, Time: 6:03 pm
News: Garrard threw for 335 yards and two interceptions against St. Louis on Sunday.
 Analysis:

The yardage was nice, but Garrard was unable to provide his owners with any touchdowns. He remains a low end fantasy option at quarterback. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Torry Holt WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/18/09, Time: 11:09 am
News: Holt faces the Rams today for the first time as a member of another team.
 Analysis:

This matchup could present a bit more motivation for the veteran and perhaps a bit of motivation for the team to look his way. Ultimately, he's a fine PPR option against a weak Rams defense but a somewhat weak play in other formats by virtue of not yet catching a touchdown. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/18/09, Time: 10:02 am
News: ProFootballTalk.com reports that Sims-Walker could be on the trading block as the deadline approaches.
 Analysis:

As PFT notes, this might just be part of the team showing a young receiver that he needs to avoid infractions like the one that got him suspended in Week 5. Really, it would be foolish for the Jags to deal a very promising young wideout. Either way, he's a very strong fantasy option in Week 6 against St. Louis. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Jevon Kearse DE, Tennessee Titans 10/17/09, Time: 12:26 pm
News: The Tennessean reports that Kearse will miss the Titans' game on Sunday against the Patriots due to a foot injury.
 Analysis:

The seriousness of the injury is unknown so stay tuned. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Rashean Mathis DB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/15/09, Time: 9:06 am
News: Mathis missed practice on Wednesday due to a hip injury.
 Analysis:

The Jaguars defense has a nice matchup against the Rams at home on Sunday but losing Mathis would certainly not help. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/14/09, Time: 12:17 pm
News: Sim-Walker is expected to play against the Rams on Sunday after missing Week 5 due to a suspension.
 Analysis:

Sims-Walker apologized for breaking team rules and is a must-start against the Rams this Sunday. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Maurice Jones-Drew RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/04/09, Time: 9:03 pm
News: Jones-Drew had a quiet day on Sunday, gaining only 16 rushing yards. He did, however, score a touchdown.
 Analysis:

Rookie Rashad Jennings and Greg Jones took most of the second half work. Jones-Drew should have no problem tearing up the Seattle defense next week. (Sportsbuff.com)

Player: David Garrard QB, Jacksonville Jaguars 10/04/09, Time: 8:59 pm
News: Garrard had a marvelous game against Tennessee, throwing for 323 yards and three touchdowns during the victory.
 Analysis:

With the team seeking to lighten the load on Maurice Jones-Drew, they've taken the restraints off the passing game and found that, with the addition of Mike Sims-Walker, it's really an underrated facet of their offense. Garrard is playing more like a starter than the fantasy backup he has been in the past. (Sportsbuff.com)

Player: Kenny Britt WR, Tennessee Titans 10/04/09, Time: 8:54 pm
News: Britt had his best game as a pro thus far on Sunday, hauling in seven catches for 105 yards.
 Analysis:

If Tennessee continues to play lousy defense, it will be to Britt's benefit as they'll be throwing a lot more. The rookie has really established himself in this offense and should be a strong consideration not only for dynasty leagues but redraft ones as well. (Sportsbuff.com)

Player: Chris Johnson RB, Tennessee Titans 10/04/09, Time: 8:51 pm
News: Johnson rushed for 83 yards against Jacksonville during Sunday's loss.
 Analysis:

He only got 16 opportunities as Tennessee's suddenly porous defense allowed the Jaguars to seemingly score at will. His owners hope this trend doesn't continue as they'll see more games like this if the Titans constantly have to play from behind. (Sportsbuff.com)

Player: Cortland Finnegan DB, Tennessee Titans 10/03/09, Time: 2:22 am
 Status:
Doubtful
News: Finnegan is doubtful to play against the Jaguars on Sunday, according to the Nashville Tennessean.
 Analysis:

Finnegan is battling a hamstring injury and with him out of the lineup, David Garrard could find more room to throw the ball. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 09/27/09, Time: 10:43 pm
News: Sims-Walker caught six passes for 81 yards on Sunday against the Texans.
 Analysis:

Torry Holt was supposed to be the Jags' #1 guy this season, but Sims-Walker looks as though he might be stepping into the role at this point. He should be owned in all formats. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Maurice Jones-Drew RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 09/27/09, Time: 10:38 pm
News: Jones-Drew tore up the Texans defense on Sunday by rushing for 119 yards and three touchdowns.
 Analysis:

MJD rewarded those owners who took him with a high pick at this year's fantasy drafts after his slow start. He faces the Titans next week, however, so they shouldn't expect a repeat performance. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kenny Britt WR, Tennessee Titans 09/27/09, Time: 8:47 pm
News: Britt led all Titans receivers with four catches for 59 yards on Sunday.
 Analysis:

Britt is a talented receiver, but he plays in an run-first environment that will continually hold him back. He shouldn't merit starting consideration in all but the deepest leagues at this point. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: LenDale White RB, Tennessee Titans 09/27/09, Time: 8:45 pm
News: White scored on a 5 yard touchdown run en route to gaining 27 yards against the Jets on Sunday.
 Analysis:

The Tennessee running game is just dominated by Chris Johnson right now and you really can't count on White for anything other than the occasional touchdown. He just cannot be a consistent addition to anyone's starting lineup. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chris Johnson RB, Tennessee Titans 09/27/09, Time: 8:40 pm
News: Even against a stout Jets run defense, Johnson managed to gain 97 yards on the ground in a losing effort.
 Analysis:

Johnson just continues to be a threat to score every time he touches the ball. It would hard to imagine sitting him no matter who the opponent is. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Nate Washington WR, Tennessee Titans 09/20/09, Time: 9:39 pm
News: Washington returned to action on Sunday, hauling in four catches for 36 yards and a touchdown.
 Analysis:

Don?t rush right out to nab him off the waiver wire. The entire Tennessee passing game will continue to play second fiddle to Chris Johnson and Lendale White. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Chris Johnson RB, Tennessee Titans 09/20/09, Time: 9:38 pm
News: Johnson rushed for 197 yards and scored three total touchdowns against Houston on Sunday.
 Analysis:

When this guy gets going, he makes the game a virtual track meet. Expect him to be a top five pick at next year?s drafts. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Kerry Collins QB, Tennessee Titans 09/20/09, Time: 9:38 pm
News: Collins had his typical workmanlike performance on Sunday, throwing for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
 Analysis:

He is one of the better second tier quarterbacks to have. He won?t wow you too often, but his consistency is a valued commodity in fantasy. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Mike Walker WR, Jacksonville Jaguars 09/20/09, Time: 9:31 pm
News: The youngster turned in a fantastic performance against Arizona, catching six balls for 106 yards and a touchdown.
 Analysis:

The kid has some skills and is definitely someone to look out for. Just keep in mind that, as a rookie, his week to week performances may vary greatly. (SportsBuff.com)

Player: Maurice Jones-Drew RB, Jacksonville Jaguars 09/20/09, Time: 9:30 pm
News: Jones-Drew only managed 66 yards against Arizona on Sunday.
 Analysis:

The Arizona run defense shut down Frank Gore last week as well, so it?s clearly an improved unit. However, Jones-Drew may find himself running the ball less than he anticipated this year due to the potential fact that the Jaguars might be playing from behind a lot this season.(SportsBuff.com)

Player: David Garrard QB, Jacksonville Jaguars 09/20/09, Time: 9:29 pm
News: Garrard threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns against Arizona on Sunday.
 Analysis:

The Jacksonville passing game is still a work in progress and Garrard himself blunted the impact of his performance by fumbling three times. However, it seems clear that the Jaguars might be playing catch up quite a bit this year and that?s usually a situation that bears fantasy goodness. (SportsBuff.com)
