Brother of Bucs WR charged with stabbing
March 25, 2014
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The brother of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams has turned himself in after authorities say he stabbed Williams in the leg.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said 23-year-old Eric Baylor, who turned himself in Monday night, was charged with aggravated battery domestic violence and held on $1,000 bail. Jail records didn't say whether he had an attorney.
Deputies responded Sunday to Williams' Tampa home, finding him with a stab wound in the left thigh. He was treated at a hospital and released.
Williams initially told deputies the brothers were wrestling and the stabbing was accidental. But witnesses gave statements later that the two argued before the stabbing.
Williams signed a $40 million, six-year deal with the Buccaneers last year. He caught 22 passes for 216 yards last season.
