Goff, Rams defeat Cowboys 13-10

Sean Mannion completed 18 of 25 passes for 144 yards and led Los Angeles on two long second-half scoring drives as the Rams beat the Dallas Cowboys 13-10 on Saturday night at Los Angeles Coliseum.

Mannion, a third-year backup quarterback from Oregon State, took over for starter Jared Goff early in the second half and was effective while working deep into the fourth quarter.

Los Angeles' touchdown came when wide receiver Cooper Kupp fell on a fumble by teammate Robert Woods in the end zone. Kupp, a rookie from Eastern Washington, had two catches for 35 yards in his first NFL game.

The Cowboys tied the score 10-10 when Cooper Rush connected with Rico Gathers, who played basketball at Baylor, on a 25-yard touchdown pass. Rush completed 9 of 11 passes for 104 yards.

Cardinals 20, Raiders 10

Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton each threw first-half touchdown passes and Arizona overpowered Oakland in Glendale, Ariz.

Palmer was 4 of 8 for 38 yards, including a 12-yard strike to Brittan Golden for a touchdown. David Johnson ran three times for 16 yards, including a tough 10-yard run to the outside to pick up a key first down.

E.J. Manuel started at quarterback for the Raiders and played the entire first half, completing 10 of 12 passes for 107 yards. Connor Cook finished 10 of 21 for 82 yards for Oakland.

Jets 7, Titans 3

Josh McCown made his only drive of the game count when he tossed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Charone Peake in New York's victory over Tennessee in East Rutherford, N.J.

The 38-year-old McCown, who is the favorite in the Jets' three-man quarterback competition, started and was 3-of-4 passing for 72 yards. The bulk of the yardage came on a 53-yard strike to Robby Anderson that gave New York a first-and-goal. McCown and Peake hooked up three plays later.

Titans starting quarterback Marcus Mariota, playing in a game for the first time since he suffered a broken leg on Dec. 24, went 2 for 3 for 15 yards in two series.
