Browns WR has not heard from Tannehill

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry said that he hasn't heard from quarterback Ryan Tannehill since being traded from the Miami Dolphins.

Furthermore, Landry said he isn't the least bit shocked by the silence.

"I'm not surprised," Landry said when asked why he had not heard from Tannehill, while speaking with the NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano and Aditi Kinkhabwala. "We didn't really have a good relationship anyway, so I'm not surprised.

" ... I wasn't trying to look back in the rearview mirror, you know. I'm focused on here and where we're taking it here. I wasn't trying to take a shot at him. I understand how hard every guy in this NFL works, especially at the position, especially at the quarterback position. But at the same time too. ... I give credit where credit is due."

Landry recorded 288 of his 400 career receptions from the hand of Tannehill during his first three seasons in Miami. The three-time Pro Bowl selection reeled in a career-best 112 catches last season for 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns while the quarterback was sidelined because of a knee injury.

The 25-year-old Landry hasn't been shy about speaking his mind of late. He recently told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he considers himself "the most complete receiver" in the league and echoed teammate Josh Gordon's sentiments about the Browns fielding the NFL's premier receiving corps.

"He ain't lying," Landry said. "We are playing to our strengths and playing to our ability to have (quarterback) Tyrod (Taylor) back there. "The things that Josh can do and Corey (Coleman) can do. We have a young cat coming up as well, (Antonio) Callaway. We are just really showing a lot of flashes. I think the capability of what we all can do is endless. We can only, obviously, beat ourselves at this point."

Landry signed a five-year, $75 million contract extension with the Browns after he was acquired in a trade with the Dolphins. Cleveland sent a fourth-round pick (123rd overall) in 2018 NFL Draft and a seventh-round selection in 2019 to Miami.
