NFL Betting Preview – Seahawks at Rams

The Los Angeles Rams will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season, as they host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday on CBS. The Rams were outscored last week by the New Orleans Saints, while the Seahawks lost at home to the Chargers.

If the Rams win this game they can pretty much put away the NFC West, as they would have a four game lead and own the tiebreaker. Let’s look at this Week 10 matchup that can be seen on CBS on Sunday and NFL picks.

Date and Time: Sunday, November 11, 4:25 p.m. ET
Location: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA
NFL Odds at BetDSI: Rams -10 (even), O/U 50.5
Seahawks vs. Rams TV Coverage: CBS

This is the second meeting between the Seahawks and Rams this season and the first one was a shootout. The Rams pulled out a 33-31 win in Seattle last month. Russell Wilson threw three TD passes and Chris Carson rushed for 116 yards, but it was not enough, as the Rams ran up and down the field on the Seattle defense.

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said that he hopes that his defense is better prepared this time. "We have to work with the under coverage better than we did last (time)," Carroll said to the media, "We gave up some stuff that they dumped off and made a lot of yards after the catch. A couple of those were tackles, but just deployment and stuff."

The Rams lead the NFL in total offense and they are third in scoring. They have the best running back in the league in Todd Gurley and three very good receivers in Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp and Brandin Cooks. Quarterback Jared Goff has a lot of weapons at his disposal.

The Rams are big favorites in this game, even though they gave up 45 points last week to New Orleans. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald said to the media that the team will bounce back strong. "This was just one game, we will fix it. We are disappointed that we lost, but like I said, we are going to fix it. We aren't panicking, we're not worried. We will make the corrections to fix it and continue to be better."

Matchup to Watch

How are the Seahawks going to slow down the Rams? This is not the Seattle defense of past seasons. They don’t have much of a pass rush and the secondary is vulnerable. I know that the stats say that Seattle is 6th in the league against the pass, but if you watch this team, they are simply not that good on defense. They have benefited from playing a schedule that has had them going against a lot of average or subpar offenses. They have faced Denver, Dallas, Arizona, Oakland and Detroit. When Seattle faced the Rams, Bears and Chargers they got exposed.

Key Stats

The Seahawks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Los Angeles. The Seahawks are 12-4-2 ATS in their last 18 games following a straight up loss. The Seahawks are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games in November. The Rams are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss. The Rams are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games. The Rams are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.

Looking at the total, the Under is 4-0 in the Seahawks last 4 road games. The Under is 6-2 in the Rams last 8 games on grass. The Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Los Angeles.

Seahawks vs. Rams Picks

I despise laying big points in the NFL, but I still lean to the Rams, as I don’t think Seattle’s defense can stop Los Angeles. I think the best option in this game is to simply play the total, as I see no reason this won’t be another shootout between the two teams. I will go over the total at BetDSI.

Seahawks vs. Rams Pick: Over 50.5 at BetDSI
Seahawks vs. Rams Score Prediction: Rams 34, Seahawks 24
