NFL Game Preview - Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles

There has been some high-profile chatter about the Dallas Cowboys, who at 3-5 have underachieved for a second straight season. Even so, the NFC East does not have a dominant team halfway through the year and Dallas is still in the mix for the division title. In order to have a shot at hanging around it seems essential that the Cowboys pick up a “Sunday Night Football” upset over the Philadelphia Eagles.

It won’t be easy as the defending Super Bowl champions are the more talented team and get this matchup at home. The Eagles have also not lived up to expectations this season but if they can turn it on down the stretch, a return to the playoffs should happen.

The Redskins currently lead the NFC East but they look vulnerable. The Eagles can start putting the pressure on with a win in this game, while the Cowboys can get right back into the chase with an upset in NFL gambling.

This NFL football game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles will be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 6:20 p.m ET on Sunday, November 11th, 2018. The game will be nationally televised on NBC.

We'll have NFL football odds at available for every game of the 2018 NFL season.

Odds Analysis

The Cowboys began the week as 6-point underdogs and that spread has now moved up to a touchdown as bettors back the Eagles. Dallas is listed as the +267 underdog while Philadelphia is the -330 favorite. The moneyline odds have also shifted quite a bit in favor of the Eagles.

The scoring total for this matchup is listed at 43.5 points as both offenses have struggled for much of the season. There is live betting available for this matchup, which allows gamblers to make bets on this game after the kickoff.

Key Stat

1. That’s the number of new go-to receivers for each team. The Cowboys traded a first-round draft pick to the Raiders for Amari Cooper. He is a former Pro Bowler who caught a touchdown in his debut with Dallas last week. The Cowboys’ wide receiver group was among the thinnest in the NFL before the trade. The deal may not be great down the road because the price to acquire Cooper was steep, but he could be a big part of this game.

The Eagles dealt a third-round pick to the Lions for Golden Tate. He is one of the game’s better slot receivers and is a master of getting yards after the catch. Philadelphia has been much less effective offensively this year compared to last and is hoping Tate can add a boost.

Injury Report

Cowboys star linebacker Sean Lee has a hamstring injury which is expected to keep him out of this matchup. He is a key cog in the middle of the field for Philly and the absence would be a big one.

The Eagles were hoping to get jitterbug running back Darren Sproles back in the fold but he aggravated a hamstring injury in practice this week and is not expected to play.

Free NFL ATS Picks

The Eagles have not been the same dominant team as 2017 but most of the same pieces are still in place. All of the team’s four losses have been by six points or fewer, and if the close-game luck evens out Philly should improve in the second half of the year. Dallas is a decent team but needed to win some of its previous games because this one is a tough situation.

The uptick of the spread makes it tougher for the Eagles to cover, but they are still the pick. Philadelphia is superior on both sides of the ball and should come away with the win and the cover in NFL wagering.

NFL ATS Pick: Philadelphia Eagles 27, Dallas Cowboys 19
