LVSC Rankings - Week 6

Five weeks of the NFL regular season are in the books and according to the oddsmakers at Las Vegas Sports Consultants, the company that provides the betting odds to over 90 percent of Nevada’s casinos, the NFC is still the stronger of the two conferences largely due to the powerful NFC East.

The Cowboys remain in the top spot even though the club barely squeaked past the Bengals 31-22 at home last Sunday and they’re behind New York in the division. The Giants jumped from up to the second spot from the fourth position after destroying the Seahawks 44-6 at home.

The biggest mover in the NFC East this past weekend was Washington, who stopped Philadelphia 23-17 on the road for its fourth straight win and cover. The Redskins stand at 4-1 and have three winnable games on deck against St. Louis, Cleveland and Detroit. Not a lot people expected first-year head coach Jim Zorn to be 7-1 after eight games but it’s very possible.

The Giants aren’t the only division leader that is ranked behind another team. Buffalo, Chicago and Denver all sit atop the AFC East, NFC North and AFC West respectively but the Patriots, Vikings and Chargers are getting more credit in the latest LVSC rankings.

New England (3-1) owns a winning record but both Minnesota (2-3) and San Diego (2-3) have been on the wrong side of the fence this season.

The Bolts fell from third to second in this week’s poll and some might be surprised to see them sitting so high after losing to Miami 17-10 on the road this past Sunday. Most would assume SD to slip again if they lose at home to New England in Sunday’s finale.

Below is a complete list of all the rankings.
