The Winnipeg Jets' power play is coming around. The results, however, aren't following.

They'll try to continue to produce with a man advantage and end a season-high four-game losing streak Monday night when they visit the New Jersey Devils.

In the last five games, the Jets (10-11-4) have gone 5 for 15 on the power play after starting the year 6 for 71, but they're 1-2-2 in that span.

Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien has scored four of those recent power-play goals and has five goals and two assists in his last five games. His 19 points are tied for second on the team and rank third in the league for defensemen.

Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to Minnesota was the latest contest in a seven-game span without a regulation win. The Jets haven't earned two points in 60 minutes since Nov. 8, though they're 3-2-2 since then with all of their wins coming in shootouts.

They led twice against the Wild with goals from Michael Frolik and Matt Halischuk.

"The way we lost today, it's disappointing," goaltender Ondrej Pavelec said. "We had the game. We had it. We should close it up. We didn't and we lost the point."

Frolik and Halischuk each assisted on the other's goal. Frolik has six goals in 25 games after scoring eight in 108 regular-season games the last two seasons with Chicago. With 13 points, he's already topped his 2012-13 point total of 10.

Monday's game starts a season-long six-game road trip for the Jets, losers of four of five away from home.

"It doesn't matter whether we're on the road or at home, I guess, you want to get to playing the right way and winning hockey games," captain Andrew Ladd told the team's official website. "But at the same time, sometimes it's nice to get away from the noise here and just focus on hockey."

Their 3-0 win over the Devils on Oct. 13 snapped a three-game losing streak. They'll try to snap a four-game slide this time around.

Winnipeg is trying for a fourth win in five tries against the Devils after going 2-0-1 in last season's meetings.

New Jersey (9-9-5) returns home after wrapping up a 2-1-0 trip with Saturday's 2-1 loss at San Jose, ending a season-best three-game winning streak.

"We played them pretty well but they got the two goals," center Travis Zajac said. "We matched them after that and there were just a couple of plays we didn't execute, and couldn't get another one."

Scoring goals has been a season-long issue for the Devils. They're averaging 2.13 per game and have three in their last two games.

After a poor start to the season, the Devils have managed to recover in the standings with a 6-2-1 stretch in which they've allowed 12 goals, the second-fewest in the league since Nov. 7.

Goalies Cory Schneider and Martin Brodeur have been a huge part of it.

Schneider has a 0.97 goals-against average and .964 save percentage in his last three games.

Brodeur is 6-2-0 since Oct. 29 with a 1.25 GAA and .948 save percentage after losing to the Sharks. The Devils were just grateful he was able to finish the game after taking a shot off the back of his neck and collapsing to the ice.

Brodeur has won his last five starts against the Winnipeg-Atlanta franchise with a 1.57 GAA.
