PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Olli Jokinen had a so-so first shift and ended up in the penalty box his second time on the ice with his new team. He made all the right moves the rest of the night.

Jokinen scored two goals in his first game for Calgary, and fellow trade-deadline addition Jordan Leopold also had a goal, leading the Flames to a 5-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night.

Jokinen, acquired from Phoenix on Wednesday, centered Calgary's top line between Mike Cammalleri and Jarome Iginla. The trio combined for seven points.

``Olli did some amazing things,' said Cammalleri, who added a goal and two assists.

Craig Conroy also scored for Calgary, 9-1-2 since a four-game losing streak early last month and 10 points ahead of second-place Vancouver in the Northwest Division.

Mike Knuble had the lone goal for the Flyers, who remained fourth in the Eastern Conference after their third loss in four games.

Philadelphia coach John Stevens clearly was upset with his team's performance.

``It was just an awful effort by our hockey team, right through our lineup,' Stevens said.

Jokinen scored off a give-and-go pass from Iginla to give Calgary a 2-0 lead midway through the first period. Six minutes later, Jokinen streaked down the right side, took a pass from Cammalleri and lifted a shot past goalie Antero Niittymaki to make it 3-0.

``He played great,' Iginla said. ``He's a really fast player, real powerful. It was a great start.'

At Uniondale, N.Y., Sean Avery returned to the NHL after a three-month exile, and Nikolai Zherdev had a goal and assist for the Rangers.

Avery was banished by Dallas in December because of crude comments he made about players dating his former girlfriends. He was suspended six games by the NHL and wasn't welcomed back by the Stars, who pried him away from the Rangers last summer with a four-year deal.

Chris Drury, Scott Gomez and Marcus Naslund also scored for New York. The Rangers snapped an 0-7-2 road skid. Blake Comeau and defenseman Jack Hillen, with his first NHL goal, scored for the Islanders.

At Sunrise, Fla., Sidney Crosby had a goal in his return to Pittsburgh's lineup, and Tyler Kennedy scored twice in the third period.

Kris Letang also had a third-period goal to help Pittsburgh win its fifth straight game. Bill Guerin, acquired from the Islanders on Wednesday, had an assist on Crosby's goal. After missing four games because of a groin injury, Crosby skated on a line with Guerin and fellow newcomer Chris Kunitz.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 31 saves, allowing only Radek Dvorak's goal.

At San Jose, Calif., Marek Zidlicky scored Minnesota's tying goal from mid-ice when goalie Brian Boucher made a humiliating blunder on the puck, and Mikko Koivu scored his second goal with 13.3 seconds left in overtime.

Zidlicky completed Minnesota's comeback from a three-goal deficit with 7:37 left in regulation when his dump-in backhand from just past the center line somehow bounced between the legs of Boucher, who whiffed with his glove.

Pierre-Marc Bouchard also scored for the Wild.

Joe Pavelski scored two goals, and Ryane Clowe had a goal and an assist for the Sharks, who lost for the fourth time in five games.

At Los Angeles, Michal Handzus scored his third goal of the game at 1:31 of overtime, capping his second career hat trick in the Kings' comeback victory.

The Kings scored twice in the final 3:18 of regulation. Dallas took three penalties in a 63-second span, giving Los Angeles a two-man advantage for 1:10. Handzus scored during the 5-on-3 power play, and Anze Kopitar tied it with 14 seconds left.

Alexander Frolov also scored for the Kings. Loui Eriksson, Mike Ribeiro, James Neal and Steve Ott scored for Dallas.

At Boston, Steven Reinprecht broke a second-period tie, and Ilja Bryzgalov made 25 saves to help Phoenix hand East-leading Boston its ninth loss in 12 games.

Scottie Upshall, acquired from Philadelphia on Wednesday, also scored for Phoenix. Chuck Kobasew scored, and Tim Thomas made 16 saves for Boston.

At Washington, Martin Gerber made 37 saves in his Toronto debut, and Lee Stempniak and Pavel Kubina scored third-period goals to help the Maple Leafs extend their season-high points streak to eight games.

Gerber, claimed off waivers from Ottawa on Wednesday, allowed only Alexander Semin's goal with 39 seconds left. NHL goals leader Alex Ovechkin missed the game because of a bruised right heel.

At Nashville, Tenn., Steve Sullivan scored the tiebreaking goal on a breakaway with 1:46 left in the second period, and the Predators won their sixth straight.

Vern Fiddler, Ryan Jones and Martin Erat also scored to help Nashville jump from a three-way tie for seventh to a tie for sixth with Columbus in the West.

Jason Williams and Rick Nash scored for Columbus, which lost its 10 straight in Nashville.

At Ottawa, Jason Spezza set an Ottawa record with a goal in the first 12 seconds, and set up Mike Comrie's second-period goal.

Spezza broke Daniel Alfredsson's club mark of 13 seconds when he beat Dwayne Roloson for his 23rd goal. Dany Heatley and Chris Campoli also scored for Ottawa.

Sam Gagner scored twice for Edmonton.
