Date: January 19, 2012 8:30 PM EDT

WINNIPEG, Alberta (AP) - The Winnipeg Jets used a timely visit form the struggling Buffalo Sabres to get their power play working again.

Tobias Enstrom scored a tiebreaking goal with the man advantage during the second period and the Jets beat Buffalo 4-1 on Thursday, extending the Sabres' franchise-record road losing streak to 11 games.

Andrew Ladd, Tim Stapleton and Nik Antropov also scored for Winnipeg, with Stapleton also connecting on a power play. The Jets were 2 for 4 on the power play after failing to score with the man advantage in their previous five games.

``We've been struggling a bit on the PP,' Enstrom said. ``We've been trying to get some pucks at the net and scored some goals and today it worked out fine for us.'

Buffalo, 0 for 2 on the power play, has lost seven of its last eight games.

``You've got to win that battle,' Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said about the special teams. ``We had a tough time getting shots through. They got theirs.'

Drew Stafford scored for Buffalo.

The Jets outshot the Sabres 19-10 in the first period.

Ron Hainsey set up the first goal midway through the period with a slap shot from the point that went in off Ladd for his 16th of the season.

Stafford tied it at 4:18 of the second.

Enstrom put the Jets in front on a power play at 12:55 with his third goal in three games.

Stapleton added his power-play goal early in the third, and Antropov scored with 1:20 to go.

Jets coach Claude Noel wasn't celebrating.

``We missed some D-zone assignments ... and our goaltender helped us out. I think we were a little bit fortunate,' he said. ``We've got some work to do here.'

NOTES: The Jets improved to 22-20-5, and Buffalo dropped to 19-23-5. ... Kyle Wellwood had two assists to reach 200 career points. ... Ryan Miller made 29 saves for Buffalo.
