Detroit at Dallas (8 p.m. EDT). The Stars limp home after dropping the first two games of the Western Conference finals at Joe Louis Arena.

-Darren Helm and Henrik Zetterberg, Red Wings, scored first-period goals and Detroit held on for a 2-1 victory over Dallas.

Detroit owns a two games to none lead in the Western Conference finals after holding off Dallas 2-1 on Saturday night. The Red Wings have won each of their last five series after taking a 2-0 advantage, including two in this year's playoffs.

Johan Franzen was scratched from the Red Wings' lineup for Game 2 of the Western Conference finals because of concussion-like symptoms. Franzen is scheduled for tests Monday in Detroit and will miss that night's Game 3 in Dallas. Franzen has scored an NHL-high 27 times since March 2, a 27-game roll that includes a league-high and franchise-record 12 goals in the postseason.

Detroit goalie Chris Osgood improved to 8-0 as a starter in this year's playoffs after making 17 saves in a 2-1 win over Dallas in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals. Stars netminder Marty Turco stopped 32 shots, but fell to 0-9-2 in the NHL at Joe Louis Arena.

Dallas has failed to score more than two goals in each of its last six games after dropping a 2-1 decision at Detroit in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals on Saturday night.

Detroit's Darren Helm scored his first NHL goal on Saturday night, the opening tally in the Red Wings' 2-1 victory over Dallas in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals on Saturday night. The goal came nearly two months after his NHL debut.

Minnesota coach Jacques Lemaire says he'll return for an eighth season with the team. The Wild won the Northwest Division title this season, but were ousted in the first round last month by Colorado. Lemaire, who has coached the team since their inception in 2000, has a career record of 500-381-168 over 14 years, including 60-52 in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh center Max Talbot, sidelined with a broken right foot for three games, may play Sunday night in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals against Philadelphia. Talbot broke his foot while blocking a shot in Game 3 of the second-round series against the Rangers.

``Ribeiro is actually letting up on the guy and Osgood just sticks his stick out and butt-ends him. Ribeiro is not going to turn around and chop the goalie like that without having something happening. I looked at it and said, `What's he doing?' until I went in and looked at the tape.'' - Dallas coach Dave Tippett on an incident involving Stars forward Mike Ribeiro and Detroit goalie Chris Osgood at the conclusion of Saturday night's game.
