Pittsburgh took a two-game lead in the Eastern Conference finals by beating the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 Sunday night. The Penguins won the first two games at home for the third consecutive series, with Game 3 set for Tuesday night in Philadelphia. The Penguins are 7-0 at home in the playoffs and have won their last 15 at Mellon Arena.

In the closing seconds of Game 2 of the Western Conference final, Detroit goalie Chris Osgood used the handle of his stick to poke Dallas' Mike Ribeiro, who responded from behind the net with a two-handed stick slash across the goalie's chest. Ribeiro and Osgood were both fined undisclosed amounts Sunday by the NHL for their actions. But neither was suspended, so both will be on the ice Monday night for Game 3 when the best-of-seven series shifts to Dallas with the Red Wings holding a 2-0 lead.

Mikko Koivu scored with less than 4 minutes remaining to give Finland a 3-2 come-from-behind win Sunday over the United States at the world hockey championships that was marred by a postgame brawl. As the final horn sounded to end the game, U.S. forward Dustin Brown drilled a Finnish defenseman into the boards with a hit to the head, touching off a melee that featured a fight between David Backes of the U.S. and Amsso Salmela of Finland.

``It's something special - I was happy as a kid just to be back out there. It was extra special to get the game-winner.'' - Max Talbot after scoring the go-ahead goal midway through the third period to lift Pittsburgh to a 3-2 win over Philadelphia on Sunday.
