The U.S. Soccer Federation made the announcement Friday when it released its roster for three exhibition games against Canada and Russia.

The 28-year-old Buehler, a member of the U.S. teams at the 2011 World Cup and 2012 Olympics, married Bobby Van Hollebeke on Nov. 17, 2012. She has five goals in 108 international appearances.

Forward Alex Morgan (left ankle) and midfielder Tobin Heath (right foot) will miss the games while recovering from injuries. Midfielder Samantha Mewis, a senior at UCLA, was selected for the 24-woman roster and could make her national team debut.

The Americans host Canada on Jan. 31 at Frisco, Texas, then play Russia, on Feb. 8 at Boca Raton, Fla., and four days later in Atlanta.

All the selected players were at this month's training camp in Carson, Calif., and 18 will dress for each match.

The roster:

Goalkeepers: Nicole Barnhart (Kansas City), Jill Loyden (Sky Blue), Hope Solo (Seattle).

Defenders: Stephanie Cox (Seattle), Crystal Dunn (Washington), Whitney Engen (Tyreso, Sweden), Ali Krieger (Washington), Kristie Mewis (Boston), Kelley O'Hara (Sky Blue), Christie Rampone (Sky Blue), Becky Sauerbrunn (Kansas City), Rachel Van Hollebeke (Portland).

Midfielders: Morgan Brian (Virginia), Lauren Holiday (Kansas City), Julie Johnston (Chicago), Carli Lloyd (Western New York), Samantha Mewis (UCLA), Heather O'Reilly (Boston), Megan Rapinoe (Seattle), Erika Tymrak (Kansas City).

Forwards: Sydney Leroux (Seattle), Christen Press (Tyreso, Sweden), Amy Rodriguez (Kansas City), Abby Wambach (Western New York).
