NEW YORK GIANTS (4-7) at WASHINGTON REDSKINS (3-8)

NFC East foes clash Sunday night when the Giants visit the slumping Redskins.

New York won four straight games to give itself a slim chance of making the NFC playoffs, but lost a crucial home game 24-21 against the Cowboys last week. Washington, however, has really struggled as of late, losing its third straight game 27-6 at the hands of the 49ers on Monday night. The home team won both meetings in this series last year, with the Giants forcing four turnovers in a 27-23 home win, before the Redskins returned the favor with 207 rushing yards in a narrow 17-16 victory, giving them five straight ATS wins over New York.

The Giants are 13-3 ATS (81%) in road games versus awful passing defenses (260+ passing YPG allowed) since 1992, but in this same timeframe, Washington is 20-4 ATS (83%) versus poor rushing teams (90 or less rush YPG allowed) in the second half of the season since 1992.

Both teams should be getting important skill-position players back with New York WR Hakeem Nicks (abdomen) and Redskins TE Jordan Reed (concussion) expected to return after missing last week's action.

The Giants had a chance to climb back into the NFC East race, but lost to Dallas at home 24-21. RB Andre Brown has played well for the Giants since returning from a broken leg suffered in the preseason. He rushed for 127 yards on 21 carries against Dallas and caught four passes as well.

QB Eli Manning had two touchdowns and no interceptions in the defeat, but he was just 16-of-30 passing. Top WR Victor Cruz was held to just two receptions for 27 yards, as the wind was definitely a factor. The passing game of the Giants should have a lot more success going against a Redskins defense that has struggled against the pass all season.

New York's defense may have a tough time slowing down the Redskins potent rushing attack, but it has allowed just 98.8 YPG on the ground (7th in NFL). Alfred Morris and Robert Griffin III are quite the duo of rushers though, so the G-Men will need to keep them in check all game. The Redskins were embarrassed in a home game against the 49ers on Monday night, losing 27-6. QB Robert Griffin III really struggled against San Francisco, throwing for just 127 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. Griffin was also sacked four times.

RB Alfred Morris has been one of the only consistent performers for this Redskins team, rushing for 970 yards on 5.0 YPC with five touchdowns this season. However, the root of the Redskins problems this season has been their defense.

Washington is allowing 270.6 passing yards per game (26th in NFL) and will need to step up their performance with Eli Manning in town. Manning has struggled this season, but is still capable of making the Redskins pay for secondary miscues. Washington is also allowing 111.5 yards per game on the ground (14th in NFL) and could struggle to slow down the red-hot Andre Brown in this one.
