The final Sunday of play in the Big Ten regular season features a pair of interesting matchups between nationally ranked teams ahead of next week’s conference tournament.

Sunday’s early start pits the No. 25 Michigan Wolverines on the road against the No. 9 Maryland Terrapins. Later that afternoon, the No. 19 Ohio State Buckeyes will head to East Lansing to face the No. 16 Michigan State Spartans.

Wednesday’s 82-58 romp over Nebraska at home as heavy 17 ½-point favorites was the Wolverines’ sixth victory in their last eight games both straight-up and against the spread. They are 10-9 SU in Big Ten play while going 21-9 (17-13 ATS) overall. The total stayed UNDER 150 ½ points in Wednesday’s win after it had gone OVER in five of Michigan’s previous seven contests.

This lineup if four deep in double-digit scorers as part of a 75.2-point scoring average. Guard Zavier Simpson (12.9 points) and center Jon Teske (11.7 points) combined for 23 points against Nebraska.

Maryland is in a three-way tie with Michigan State and Wisconsin at 13-6 for the Big Ten regular season title. It has lost three of its last four conference games SU while going 2-6-1 ATS over its last nine outings. The Terrapins are 23-7 SU overall with a 14-15-1 record ATS.

The total has gone OVER in their last five games while averaging of 71 points per game. They allowed 75 points a game on defense during this same span. Overall, Maryland is scoring 75.2 PPG and giving up 67.8 points on the other end of the court.

The Buckeyes are 11-8 SU in conference play as part of a SU 21-9 (19-11 ATS) overall. Thursday’s 71-63 victory over Illinois as 5 ½-point home favorites was their fourth win in a row SU and ATS. Ohio State is 9-2 SU and ATS in its last 11 games with the total going OVER in six of its last eight contests.

Junior forward Kaleb Wesson leads the Buckeyes in both points (14.2) and rebounds (9.4). He put up 19 points with five rebounds in Thursday’s win. Ohio State is averaging 72.2 PPG and giving up 62.4 points a game on defense.

Tuesday’s 79-71 road victory against Penn State as two-point favorites was the Spartans’ fourth SU win in a row while going 3-1 ATS. This followed a 1-4 SU slide with a 0-5 record ATS in their previous five outings. The total has gone OVER in three of those four recent wins. Michigan State as a SU record of 21-9 on the season while going 14-16 ATS.

Xavier Tillman Jr. had the hot hand against Penn State with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Senior guard Cassius Winston (18.3 PPG) put up 14 points after scoring as least 20 points in each of his previous three starts.

Betting Trends

-- The Buckeyes have gone 3-2 both SU and ATS in their last five road games with the total staying UNDER in three of those contests. This is part of a 4-6 record (SU and ATS) in their last 10 games on the road.

-- The Spartans are 9-2 SU in their last 11 home games with a 7-4 record ATS. Yet, they have failed to cover in their last three games at home. The total has stayed UNDER in six-straight games at the Breslin Center.

-- Coming into the first meeting this season, Michigan State has won eight of the last 10 matchups SU with the 7-3 edge ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in three of the last five games between the two.
