Wright State got hot at the right time, rattling off three consecutive victories in the Horizon League tournament, including a 72-71 win over Northern Kentucky on March 8. So the Raiders have now had eight days to rest, and they're playing in their hometown of Dayton, so Wright State will have a heavy home game flavor.

Bryant put up a lot of fight in the Northeast Conference tournament, including a literal fight at home between fans of the Bulldogs and Wagner Seahawks. The Bulldogs clinched their first-ever NCAA Tournament bid with a 70-43 victory over the rival Seahawks, covering a 2.5-point line. The UNDER cashed in each of the three NEC tourney games, and four straight overall.

While Wright State is playing on its home floor, Bryant is playing its first-ever NCAA Tournament game, while sporting the nation's leading scorer, Peter Kiss. So there are plenty of things to be interested about in this play-in game.

While the Bulldogs handled NEC foes, for the most part, they didn't fare terribly well against teams from outside of the conference. Bryant lost at Cincinnati on Dec. 5 by a 73-58 score, and the Bulldogs were annihilated at Houston, a fellow NCAA Tournament team, by a 111-44 count as 23-point underdogs on Dec. 3. The Bulldogs also lost by 23 at Clemson, and by 19 at Rhode Island.

The Bulldogs have covered 12 of the past 16 games overall, while going 4-0-1 ATS in the previous five against teams with a winning record. The Bulldogs are also 8-3 ATS in the past 11 games following a cover, and 11-4 ATS in the past 15 following a SU win. They're 1-4 ATS in the past five neutral-site affairs.

As far as totals are concerned, the UNDER has connected in four in a row, while going 4-0 in the past four following a SU win. The OVER has hit in nine of the past 12 after a cover.

WRIGHT STATE RAIDERS vs. BRYANT BULLDOGS BETTING CONCLUSION

It's a tough assignment for Bryant, as it appears in its first-ever NCAA Tournament game - and it's a road game, for all intents and purposes. Sure, there will be a fair share of fans traveling from Smithfield, R.I. for the school's historic appearance, but that's much longer than the 12.8-mile trip down US 35 from Wright State University, near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, to downtown Dayton.

The Bulldogs will still be ready. While Kiss gets all of the attention, and man would I love to see Bill Raftery call this game, especially if there were a soft touch shot off the glass, there are other players for Bryant. Charles, don't call me Charlie, Pride is a high-flying scorer who averaged a double-double (20.3 PPG, 11.7 RPG) in the NEC Tournament. And Luis Hurtado and Hall Elisias are solid tertiary scoring options, giving the Bulldogs a handful of possibilities. Adham Eleeda can also handle the rock, and he is a top-notch free-throw shooter for late in the game.

But again, Wright State is home, and you can't discount that. Somebody is getting their first-ever NCAA Tournament win, and the difference is the venue. The Raiders will see Kiss and the Bulldogs back to Little Rhody with a setback after a hard-fought win.
