No. 8 Creighton opens conference play in the Big East as an -8-point home favorite for Monday night’s matchup. The betting line for the total has been set at 148.5 points.

Marquette is coming off nine-point loss to UCLA as a +4.5-point underdog to slip to 4-2 straight-up and 3-3 against the spread. The total has stayed UNDER in four of the six games. The Golden Eagles have lost their last three games against Creighton both SU and ATS with the total staying UNDER in two of the three meetings.

The Golden Eagles’ biggest win of the season came against then-No. 4 Wisconsin on Dec. 4 in a 67-65 upset as +4.5-point underdogs. However, they are fighting through some early season injuries. Both forward Theo John (knee) and guard Symir Torrence (foot) remain questionable for Monday’s game.

Guard Koby McEwen has been the team’s leading scorer with 15.3 points per game. He is shooting 50% from the field and 43.3% from three-point range. Forward Jamal Cain is adding 9.8 points with a team-high 6.8 rebounds.

There are five players averaging at least nine points a game as part of Marquette’s 74.2 PPG. The team is averaging 41.7 rebounds overall including 33.5 on defense. The Golden Eagles have a 43.8 field goal percentage that drops to 35.1% beyond the three-point line. Defensively, they have allowed 63.2 PPG.
