Ohio State’s toughest matchup in its SU five-game winning streak was a 90-85 victory against Notre Dame as a six-point favorite on Dec. 8.

Forward EJ Liddell scored 19 points against the Fighting Irish with 12 rebounds as Ohio State’s season leader in both categories. However, he missed his last start due to a non-COVID illness and he remains questionable for Wednesday’s game.

He is one of four Buckeyes averaging at least 13 points per game. Guard Duane Washington is scoring 14.8 PPG, but hitting just 38.1% of his shots from the field. Ohio State is scoring 80.4 PPG with a 44.2 field-goal percentage. That drops to 34.9% from outside the three-point line.

At the other end of the court, the team is allowing 64.2 points while pulling down 33.4 defensive rebounds a game.

The betting lines for this game will hinge on the availability of Liddell for the Buckeyes. Even if he goes, I like Purdue straight-up at home on the money line. With him in the lineup you will get a better number.

This should still remain a close game either way that goes right down to the end of the second half. In the end, the Boilermakers get the SU win.

The total line is another tough call based on Liddell’s playing status. My lean would be towards the OVER depending on where the game-time betting line is set. Betting trends and early results favor a higher scoring game.
