The Jayhawks have been opened as four-point home favorites for Monday’s Big 12 tilt. The betting line for the total in this game opened at 140 points.

Oklahoma State improved to 5-2 both straight-up and against the spread with Saturday’s seven-point upset over Texas as a two-point home underdog. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in four of the last seven contests.

As part of this current run, the Cowboys snapped a SU five-game losing streak to Kansas with a five-point win at home on Jan. 12 as +3.5-point underdogs. They are 2-4 ATS during this same six-game span.

The total went OVER or ended in a PUSH in five of those last six meetings. With Saturday’s 12-point road loss to West Virginia as a two-point road underdog, Kansas has just two SU wins it its last seven games and it has gone 2-6 ATS in its last eight.

The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in five of those previous seven outings. The Jayhawks have won 16 of their last 17 home games SU but they slip to 3-5 ATS at home this season. The total has stayed UNDER in six of those eight games.

Betting Analysis – Oklahoma State Cowboys

  • SU: 12-5
  • ATS: 9-7-2

It took double overtime to get past Texas on Saturday with freshman guard Cade Cunningham scoring 19 points while forward Kalib Boone went off for 22 points with 15 rebounds. In a true show of depth, guard Avery Anderson added 16 points and 10 rebounds for another double-double.

Cunningham leads the Cowboys in scoring with 18.2 points per game while shooting 43.3% from the field and 41.3% from three-point range. Guard Isaac Likekele (10.2 points) is pulling down a team-high 7.1 rebounds as part of team’s 40 boards per game.

Oklahoma State is averaging 76.8 PPG and connecting on 46.2% of its shots from the floor. The team is shooting 34.3% from three-point range. Defensively, the Cowboys are allowing an average of 71.5 PPG.

Betting Analysis – Kansas Jayhawks

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 12-7
  • ATS: 7-11
  • SU - Home: 8-1
  • SU - Away: 4-6
  • O/U: 10-8

Kansas is in the midst of one its worst Big 12 seasons ever under the guidance of Bill Self as head coach. At 6-5 SU in conference play, it trails Baylor by four full games for first place in the standings.

The Jayhawks have played especially poor on the road this season, so returning home for Monday night could provide a much needed boost. They still have decent scoring depth with five players averaging at least 10 PPG.

Guard Ochai Agbaji leads the way with 14.1 points a game while shooting 42.9% from the field. Forward Jalen Wilson (12.3 points) leads in rebounds with 7.4.

Kansas is scoring an average of 73.8 points with 37.8 rebounds a game. It is shooting 44.1% from the field and 35.1% from three-point range. The defense is allowing 68.5 PPG.

Oklahoma State-Kansas Predictions

You would think that Kansas should bounce back in a big way at home on Monday night with its last five losses coming on the road. However, the Cowboys are coming off a huge upset over Texas while also beating the Jayhawks in the first meeting this season.

In a tight matchup, I have the Jayhawks finding a way to win SU while Oklahoma State stays close enough to cover. I also have the total going OVER in this game behind a solid offensive effort from each team. That trend has bared itself out in recent meetings.

  • Score Prediction: Kansas 76 Oklahoma State 73
  • Best Bets: Oklahoma State +4
  • Best Bets: OVER
