Odds Subject to Change

Ohio State has been opened as a seven-point home favorite for Saturday’s contest with the betting line for the total set at 139.5 points.

Indiana has won its last two games straight-up as part of an even 3-3 record in its last six games. The PUSH as a three-point road favorite its last time out gives it a 2-3-1 record against the spread during the same span. The total has gone OVER in three of the last four games.

The Hoosiers are just 1-5 SU in their last six games games against Ohio State with a 2-4 record ATS. The total has also stayed UNDER in four of the six meetings.

Ohio State brings a SU five-game winning streak into this matchup while going 4-1 ATS. It is now 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS in its last nine Big Ten games. The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in seven of those nine conference tilts.

The Buckeyes are 9-1 SU (6-4 ATS) at home this season with the total staying UNDER in three of the last five home games.

Betting Analysis – Indiana Hoosiers

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 11-8
  • ATS: 11-7-1
  • SU - Home: 6-5
  • SU - Away: 5-3
  • O/U: 10-9

Indiana needed overtime to get past Northwestern 79-76 on Wednesday night and it also needed Al Durham’s career-high 24 points. Armaan Franklin matched his career-best scoring total with 23 points in that game.

Sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis continues to lead the team in scoring this season with 19.4 points per game. He also leads the Hoosiers in rebounds with 9.4. However, with just 10 points on Wednesday night, he has failed to reach his scoring total in each of his last four starts.

Indiana is averaging 72.8 PPG and shooting 44.5% from the field. That drops to 34.6% from three-point range.

Total team rebounds add up to 35.9 a game and the Hoosiers are allowing an average of 68.7 PPG.

Betting Analysis – Ohio State Buckeyes

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 16-4
  • ATS: 12-7-1
  • SU - Home: 10-1
  • SU - Away: 6-3
  • O/U: 12-8

The Buckeyes relied on a strong defensive effort to top Maryland 73-65 on Monday night as three-point road favorites. It also helped that both Kyle Young and Duane Washington Jr. scored 18 points to pace the offense.

Forward EJ Liddell is Ohio State’s top scorer overall with 14.9 PPG. He is shooting an efficient 49.7% from floor. Along with Washington and Liddell, forward Justice Sueing (10.4 points) is the third player scoring in double figures this season.

It all adds up to 77.5 PPG. The Buckeyes are pulling down 37.4 rebounds a game and converting on 45.5% of their shots from the field. They are hitting 35.2% from beyond the three-point line.

Defensively, Ohio State is holding opposing teams to 68.4 PPG. It has not allowed more than 65 points in three of its last five victories.

Indiana-Ohio State Predictions

Indiana is catching the Buckeyes at the wrong time. They have been steam-rolling their way through the Big Ten since early January with a loss to Purdue as the only setback in the nine-game run.

Ohio State also gets a big betting edge playing Saturday’s game at home. I'm going chalk in this one with the Buckeyes winning SU and ATS.

I also have the total staying UNDER behind another strong defensive effort by the Buckeyes. They have been especially stingy this season when playing at home.

  • Score Prediction: Ohio State 73 Indiana 65
  • Best Bets: Ohio State -7
  • Best Bets: UNDER
