AUBURN TIGERS VS. TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS PREDICTIONS

The Tigers registered a 77-64 victory over Mississippi last time out, failing to cover a 15.5-point number. Auburn is a very ordinary 3-2 SU across the past five games since rising to the No. 1 ranking, and the Tigers are 1-5 ATS across the past six games overall, too. In the most recent outing against the Rebels, the Tigers hit 46% (27-of-59) from the field, while going 36% (9-of-25) from behind the 3-point line. Auburn turned it over 11 times, same as Ole Miss, and the difference was in the rebounding category. Auburn had 36 boards to 32 for Ole Miss, while blocking nine shots to three.

The Volunteers bounced back from a low-scoring 58-48 loss at Arkansas last Saturday, picking up an 80-61 victory at Missouri as 10.5-point favorites as the OVER connected. Auburn is 6-1 SU across the past seven games, while going 4-2 ATS in the previous six outings. Tennessee hit just 45% (28-of-62) from the field, while bagging 50% (9-of-18) of its attempts from behind the 3-point line. The Vols were also an impressive 79% (15-of-19) at the free-throw line vs. the Tigers of Mizzou.

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 25-3
  • ATS: 18-10
  • O/U: 16-12

The Tigers were once the top-ranked team in The Associated Press' Top 25 rankings, but they're a very ordinary 3-2 SU since ascending to the perch. They're also a dismal 1-5 ATS across the past six games overall to follow up an impressive 10-1 ATS run from Dec. 22-Feb. 1, including signature wins over Murray State, LSU, Alabama (twice) and Kentucky during the stretch.

The Tigers are also 0-4 ATS in the past four games on the road, while going 0-4 ATS in the past four outings after a straight-up win. On a positive note, Auburn has cashed in 10 of the past 13 games following a winning overall record.

For totals, the OVER is 16-4-1 in the past 21 games overall against teams with a winning overall record, while going 9-4 in the past 13 games after a straight-up win. The OVER is also 13-4 in the past 17 games played on a Saturday, for whatever that's worth.

AUBURN TIGERS VS. TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS BETTING CONCLUSION

The Tigers have struggled a little in recent games, with losses at Florida and Arkansas since Feb. 8, both on the road. Prior to that, Auburn barely beat a terrible Georgia team, 74-72, coming nowhere near cover a 16-point number. In fact, they're 0-4 ATS in the past four on the road, nearly losing to a mediocre Mizzou team on Jan. 25, too.

The Volunteers are a perfect 14-for-14 this season at home, including passing tests for signature wins against the likes of Kentucky, Texas A&M, LSU and Arizona. Thompson-Boling Arena has been a place where ranked teams and other foes go to die, as the Vols really protest their court. Saturday will be no different, as Auburn has looked like a completely different team on the road than they are at home, but it is going to be a hotly contested and close game. Just play the money line, with a little bread on the OVER.
