How to read College Football Global Odds

The College Football Global Odds include operators that offering betting opportunities both inside and possibly outside of Nevada. These new operators to market have been known to provide incentives for bettors and that’s an advantage to players in those legal US States.

Similar to our Money Line and 1st Half Odds, every matchup is listed in order of Rotation and those numbers are preceded by the Date and Time of the College Football game.

The rotation for college football games typically lists them by scheduled starting time, which can lead to some confusion since the number will remain the same even if the games wind up changing due to television networks often shifting around action to present more attractive matchups. Home teams are listed at the bottom and will therefore be your even-numbered squad.

The numbers next to the teams are called Spreads. Favorites are the teams laying points, which is represented by a minus (-) sign. The team in the Underdog role is getting points, which is represented by the plus (+) symbol that you wouldn’t see on the board but would be represented next team onto you betting ticket or slip. You can add the spread to your team’s final score and have that edge throughout the game.

If there is no favorite, the line is called pick’em and is represented by (PK). Winner takes it. The amount of points a team is favored by is set by oddsmakers on Sunday afternoons and that figure fluctuates throughout the week based on the amount of money coming in on bets.

Opposite from the spread you’ll find the Total, which represents what oddsmakers believe will be the combined number of points scored between the teams. That number also increases or decreases based on bets coming in on the Over or Under.

College Football Global Sportsbook Odds

The 2021 College Football Championship will take place from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida in Jan. 11, 2021 and oddsmakers have already posted early future odds. Despite losing in the 2020 title game, the Clemson Tigers are listed as the top betting choice in the latest College Football futures betting market.

2021 College Football Contenders - Top 10

  • Clemson Tigers 5/2
  • Alabama Crimson Tide 3/1
  • Ohio State Buckeyes 3/1
  • LSU Tigers 10/1
  • Georgia Bulldogs 12/1
  • Florida Gators 14/1
  • Notre Dame Fighting Irish 20/1
  • Oklahoma Sooners 25/1
  • Texas Longhorns 33/1
  • Oregon Ducks 40/1
  • More...

How to read College Football Future Odds

Ex. - Bet $100 on Clemson Tigers at 5/2 odds will return $250
Ex. - Bet $100 on LSU Tigers at 10/1 odds will return $1,000

How do I bet on a College Football game?

As described above, there is a favorite and an underdog in each game.

Florida State -11.5
Syracuse +11.5

In this example, Florida State is listed as a 11.5-point favorite, while Syracuse is a 11.5-point underdog. For Florida State to cover the spread, it must win by 12 points or more. Syracuse can cover the spread two different ways as an underdog. First, if Syracuse loses by 11 points or fewer, it covers. The second way is if Syracuse wins outright by any score, so sometimes backing an underdog has its advantages.

VI Consensus College Football Line

The VegasInsider.com Consensus College Football Line is just as important as the Open Line and also a key resource on odds platform. The Consensus column could simply be called a “Median Line” since it shows the most consistent number provided by the sportsbooks on VegasInsider.com. The consensus line will be the same as the open line but once the wagers start coming in, this number is often different than the openers.

The Global College Football Odds consensus lines uses up to 10 sportsbooks that are allowed to operate in the United States.

The most popular and respected Global College Football Odds include:

  • FanDuel
  • DraftKings
  • PointsBet
  • BetMGM
  • Caesars
  • William Hill
  • More…

While many bettors like to shop for numbers, which is a great technique, not everybody always gets the best line. Therefore, the consensus open and eventually closing line is a great way to measure your skills as a bettor or handicapper.
