Tuesday’s Horse Racing Picks and Odds from Will Rogers Downs and Fonner Park on Tuesday March 24

It is Tuesday and we will head back out to Will Rogers Downs in Oklahoma and Fonner Park in Nebraska, the only two thoroughbred tracks running this afternoon.

Of the eight races yesterday in my Best Plays Report, four at each track, the only real success we had was a nice $13.40 winner and $81.60 exacta at Will Rogers Downs in the seventh race.

It looks as if racing will continue at several major tracks including Gulfstream Park, which has the $1 million Florida Derby (G1) coming up on Saturday.

Among the tracks still scheduled to run are Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita, Tampa Bay Downs, Fonner Park, Will Rogers Downs, Los Alamitos, Charles Town, Turfway Park, Remington Park and Oaklawn Park.

My plan for this week is to do the entire card for Gulfstream Park starting on Wednesday and my Best Plays Report will be Gulfstream Park along with Tampa Bay Downs tomorrow, then I’ll add Santa Anita or Oaklawn Park into the mix Friday and Saturday.

Horseplayers can stream all the horse racing action using the Watch TVG App. The horse betting company based in the U.S. is offering a risk free bet up to $200 for new players.

Keep an eye on the schedule for FS1 and FS1 and NBCSN as they will be adding some horse racing action this week as well.

My Best Plays Report for Tuesday includes my eight strongest plays from Will Rogers Downs and Fonner Park.

Tuesday’s Featured Race of the Day from Will Rogers Downs:

WRD Race 2 Md Sp Wt (1:45 CT)
#6 Dramacide   8-1
#5 O S U Kickoff   5-2
#2 Im the Man Now   8-1
#1 What Thinking   3-1

Analysis: Dramacide was not a threat in his debut and showed improvement second out at Remington Park where he pressed the early pace and weakened late to finish third, beaten 1 1/2 lengths. He has worked well since his last outing for the Ashford barn that is showing a 24% win clip (with a +ROI) with runners coming back off a 61-180 day layoff. The gelding is out of a Slewacide mare that has dropped five winners.

O S U Kickoff makes his first starts since his debut here last April. In that outing he was sent off as the 9-5 favorite, pressed the early pace and was no match for an 8 1/4 length winner. Three came out of that race to win next out including the winner Oh What Luck who beat state bred Alw1 foes at Remington Park in his next start and has not started since. Good works on the morning tab for the barn and this is not a real tough looking spot for his return. He is the first foal to race out of a Proud Citizen mare.

Wagering
WIN: #6 to win at 5-1 or better.
EX: 5,6 / 1,2,5,6
TRI: 5,6 / 1,2,5,6 / 1,2,5,6,8

Tuesday’s Featured Race of the Day from Fonner Park:

FON Race 6 Alw $2,500s (5:45 CT)
#2 Shooters Alley   5-2
#3 Cowboy Don   8-1
#4 Piccadilly Roadster   5-1
#1 Beta Capo Song   6-1

Analysis: Shooters Alley took the field gate to wire to win at this level last out in his first start off the claim by the Martinez barn that has been very live at the meeting, hitting at a 32% clip. The gelding was claimed two back for $2,500 out of an eight-length win against restricted foes. He is now 2 for 2 since landing here from Delta and he owns a solid pace profile throughout. Looks capable of winning right back here in this spot.

Cowboy Dan prompted the early pace and finished gamely to prevail by a head last out against $2,500 non-winners of two races in '19-20. It was his first start off a six-month layoff. He was claimed out of the race by the McDonald barn that is showing no starts. There is a trainer by that name that last started a runner in 1990. The gelding owns solid early and mid pace numbers and owns back numbers good enough to be in the mix here. Worth tossing in the mix here if he goes off near his 8-1 morning line.
