ALL STAR GAME HISTORY

The All-Star Game, often dubbed the "Midsummer Classic", is a pro baseball game in Major League Baseball between professional players from the National League and the American League. The event is usually held in the middle of July and the venue changes on an annual basis. Since 2003, the league that wins the All-Star game will also be rewarded with home-field advantage in the World Series.

There have been 91 All-Star games played and the series between the National League and the American League, and the AL inched ahead 46-43 in the series with a 5-2 victory at Coors Field in Colorado during the 2021 season.

There have been two ties, the most recent coming in 2002.

Including the 2021 decision, the American League has won the past eight Midsummer Classics.
