MLB Scores

Football and Basketball scores are divided in quarters while Hockey uses periods. The MLB Scores are displayed with innings, nine of them to be exact but bettors often see extra innings all the time and that happens when a game is tied after the first nine innings. What also separates the MLB Scores from the three other main sports in the United States is the clock, which isn’t used in baseball. That’s why bettors often see games take hours upon hours to finish and that happens with either extra innings or weather delays.

The MLB Scores starts populating matchups when the spring training begins in early February and continues through the World Series, which ends at the end of October. All of your MLB bets can be followed on the VegasInsider.com MLB Scoreboard and they’re simple to follow once you figure out the format for the Scores. The MLB Scores start with the Matchup, which has a designated Home and Away team.

All Games are listed in order of Rotation that are created by the sportsbooks. The Rotation numbers are assigned to each team and it identifies the bet that is being placed at an online sportsbook or in a casino. Those numbers eliminate any confusion between the bettor and the sportsbook. Along with rotation numbers, games are also listed by time and the VegasInsider.com MLB Scores show the Game Time in Eastern Time Zone (ET).

Next to the rotations are the Teams that are playing, followed by the Pitchers listed for each matchup. The MLB Scores always list the last name of the Starting Pitcher, followed by the initial of their first name.

The key section for bettors in the MLB Scores is the Line and the number shown is a consensus line that is created by multiple sportsbooks in the United States. The Line displays which team is the favorite in the matchup and that can be determined with a minus (-) sign followed by a number. The underdog has a plus symbol (+) listed in their corresponding row.

The MLB Scores section features Betting Trends for each matchup and this shows you how much money is being wagered on each team. It’s a great tool if you want to ride or against the betting public. Other great resources on the Scoreboard are the Line Movements and Preview for each matchup. Knowing how a sportsbook adjusts to the action is great plus the Preview offers a quick synopsis of each team’s clubhouse.

With 162 regular season games, there's plenty of opportunities to get in on the MLB action. If you are in a state where sports betting is legal, please check out our online sportsbook directory to find the best and most secure places to make baseball bets.

MLB Results & Records

The team that’s favored in each matchup is determined by the sportsbooks and their oddsmakers. The team with the better record isn’t always listed as the favorite but that’s known to be a very good starting point. The MLB Scoreboard shows records for all teams in their matchups and they’re divided into two categories. -- (Overall Record) and (Away or Home Record)

The Win-Loss is broken up by overall record and either the away or home record, depending on who is the host or the visitor.

The MLB Results on the Scoreboard help bettors determine whether they won or lost their wagers on the point-spread. The winning team is designated with a ‘red check’ and the ATS section determines the betting outcome. ATS or Against the Spread is a common term in the sports betting industry and even though a point-spread isn’t used in baseball, the Money-Line winner is still shown.

For Total bettors, it’s clear-cut and those wagers are identified as Over or Under. Plus, the MLB Results show the combined points scored so you don’t have to do the math in your head.

After games go final in the MLB Scores, a Recap link is shown which provides a quick synopsis on the action plus a Boxscore link gives a great statistical breakdown for both teams in the game.

MLB Livescores

Placing wagers on the professional teams in the MLB is one thing but following all nine innings of the action in the Livescores is even better, especially in extra innings. The VegasInsider.com MLB scoreboard shows real-time results as the games get underway. You won’t win or lose your wager until you see Final Score posted and that’s when you keep your eyes peeled for the Red Check and ATS results for each matchup. If you’re unsure of how you won or last, the Livescores populates a Recap link and that insight can help your sports betting techniques improve in the long run.
