New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Predictions

The New York Mets enter this matchup first in the NL East standings with a 10.5-game lead over the second place Atlanta Braves. The Mets most recently swept the Washington Nationals in a three-game series and have now won six straight. New York’s bats have been working this season and have scored five or more runs in eight of their last nine games. The bullpen has been great as well, holding opponents to 3.70 runs per game this season. Right-handed pitcher Taijuan Walker is scheduled to start on Thursday. Walker is 3-0 in seven games this season with an ERA of 2.83 and has given up 32 hits, 11 earned runs, and struck out 19 batters in 35.0 innings of work.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently first in the NL West with a three-game lead over the second place San Diego Padres. The Dodgers have been playing good baseball all-season and have won six of their last nine games. The offense has been the highest scoring in the league, averaging 5.5 runs per game. The Dodgers bullpen currently has an ERA of 2.76, which ranks as the best in baseball. The right-hander Tony Gonsolin is expected to take the mound on Thursday. Gonsolin is 5-0 in seven games this season with an ERA of 1.80 and has given up 26 hits, nine earned runs, and struck out 44 batters in 45.0 innings.

This should be a great series as these are two of the best teams in the league. The Met’s have been hitting the ball very well, but I expect that to slow down going against Gonsolin. New York will definitely win a game or two, but this is not the game to back them with Walker taking the mound. Taking the Dodgers moneyline here.

Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Analysis

Prior to the results of Wednesday night’s game against the Pirates, the Dodgers are 33-16 SU, 29-20 ATS, and have an O/U record of 22-25-2. The total has gone under in four of the Dodgers last five games. Going against this trend, the total has gone over in nine of their last 11 home games. Los Angeles has gone 13-4 SU in their last 17 games and 15-7 SU at home this season.

New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Conclusion

The Mets will be looking to win their seventh straight game on Thursday. This will be easier said than done going against a Dodgers team that is 15-7 SU at home this season. Gonsolin is the better pitcher in this matchup and I expect him to slow down the Mets offense. With that being said, the Dodger’s bats should be able to do enough damage against Walker to secure a win here. Backing the Dodgers moneyline.
