New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins Betting Predictions

The New York Yankees enter this matchup first in the AL East standings, seven games above the second place Blue Jays. In their last six games New York has scored 38 runs while giving up just seven, which pretty much sums up the kind of the season the Yankees are having. The offense has been productive, averaging 4.77 runs per game. The bullpen is arguably the best in baseball this season with a team ERA of 2.74. Left-handed pitcher Nestor Cortes is scheduled to start on Wednesday. Cortes is 5-1 in 10 games this season with an ERA of 1.50 and has given up 38 hits, 10 earned runs, and struck out 68 batters in 60.0 innings.

Minnesota is currently first in the AL Central standings, four games ahead of the second place Cleveland Guardians. The Twins have struggled as of late, losing six of their last 10 games. The offense was shutout twice over those 10 games, but have been solid on the season, averaging 4.35 runs per game. Minnesota’s bullpen is been pitching fairly well this season and have a team ERA of 3.66. The right-hander Chris Archer is expected to take the mound on Wednesday. Archer is 0-2 in 10 games this season with an ERA of 3.89 and has given up 36 hits, 17 earned runs, and struck out 32 batters in 39.1 innings of work.

I like the Yankees to cover the runline in game-two of this series. Cortes has been too good to bet against this season and their lineup continues to be a nightmare for opposing pitchers. No disrespect to Minnesota, but I would not be surprised if they get swept in this series. Backing the Yankees runline here as there is not much juice in the moneyline.

New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins Betting Conclusion

With Cortes taking the mound for the Yankees, I would not expect much offensive production from the Twins in this matchup. Minnesota’s bullpen may become short-handed at some point with five pitchers on the injured list. Regardless, the Yankees lineup will be too much for them to handle. Backing the Yankees to cover the runline here.
