Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays Betting Prediction

The Boston Red Sox enter this matchup second in the AL East standings, 11 games behind the New York Yankees for first place. The Red Sox swept the Cleveland Guardians in their most recent three-game series and have won eight of their last 10 games. Boston was great on both sides of the ball against Cleveland, scoring 18 runs throughout the series while giving up eight. This has been a common trend for the Red Sox as they are averaging 5.1 runs while allowing opponents four runs per game over their last 10. Boston is expected to start right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold Monday. Seabold was recently called up from Triple A-Worcester and will be making his first big league appearance.

Toronto is currently fourth in the AL East Standings 12 and a half games behind the New York Yankees for first place. The Blue Jays most recently went 1-2 SU in a series with the Milwaukee Brewers and have lost seven of their last 10 games. Toronto’s bullpen struggled against the Brewers, giving up 19 runs throughout the series, 10 of them coming in Sunday’s loss. The offense struggled a bit as well with 16 runs scored, but nine of those coming in game one. The Blue Jays will send the right-hander Kevin Gausman to the mound Monday. Gausman has gone 5-6 SU with an ERA of 3.19 this season.

While I’m not crazy about backing a pitcher making his debut, I like the value in the Red Sox moneyline in game one with how well they have been playing. Boston has won 19 of their last 25 games and the offense has played a big role in their success. Meanwhile, Toronto has struggled over their last 10 and may have a tough time against this hot Red Sox offense. Backing Boston moneyline in game-one.
