The Nets head into Saturday’s contest as a 4-point favorite over Dallas, marking the third consecutive event that the Mavericks have been listed as an ‘underdog’ in.

While the total for this matchup currently sits at 238.5 – which is the highest ‘over-under’ set for a Mavericks game so far this year.

Mavericks vs. Nets Current Form-Last Game

Brooklyn comes into Saturday riding an eight-game winning streak, despite Kevin Durant being active for only one of the victories across that stretch (at Golden State).

The Nets most recent victory came in blowout fashion over the Magic on Thursday – as 20 early points from both James Harden and Kyrie Irving ended up being far too much for Orlando to overcome during a 37-point win for Brooklyn (129-92).

Despite losing to the Sixers in their most recent affair, the Mavericks head into this matchup boasting wins in seven of their last 10 games – propelled by 25 or more points from Luka Doncic in eight of those contests.

Mavericks vs. Nets Head-to-Head

  • Jan. 2, 2020 - Mavericks 123 vs. Nets 111, Dallas -8, Over 223
  • Mar. 4, 2019 - Nets 127 vs. Mavericks 88, Brooklyn -5.5, Under 226.5

Even without the superstar acquisitions Brooklyn made this past offseason, the Nets have still won three of their last five meetings against the Mavericks – with the most recent matchup between these teams resulting in a victory for Dallas over a year ago.

Doncic racked up 31 points on 50% from the field in the matchup, but it still wasn’t enough to steal a victory against last year’s Nets squad without Kyrie in the lineup.

Dallas Mavericks Betting Outlook

Inside the Stats (2020-2021)

  • Overall: 15-16 SU, 13-18 ATS, 15-16 OU
  • Road: 7-8 SU, 8-7 ATS, 6-9 OU

The Mavericks have split their last four games SU now, with Dallas’ victories coming over the Celtics and Grizzlies, and their losses coming to the Sixers and Blazers.

The ‘under’ has now cashed in three consecutive matchups containing the Mavericks. Prior to that short streak though, the total had gone over in seven straight Dallas games.

Kristaps Porzingis is listed as questionable for Saturday’s tilt with the back injury that has kept him out the past three games. Having his offensive production back in the lineup would be crucial in a game where Dallas is likely going to need a ton of points to stay competitive.

Brooklyn Nets Betting Outlook

Inside the Stats (2020-2021)

  • Overall: 22-12 SU, 18-16 ATS, 23-11 OU
  • Home: 13-5 SU, 10-8 ATS, 12-6 OU

Prior to the Nets current 8-game winning streak, Brooklyn had lost four of five contests – with their only victory across that stretch coming in a 4-point win over the Clippers.

One of the most impressive aspects regarding the level of success Brooklyn has been experiencing recently, is the fact that their current winning streak has been comprised of five road wins – which includes victories over the Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Suns, and Kings while away from the Barclays Center.

The ‘over’ has now cashed in 23 out of 34 Nets games so far this year. Make note though, that the total has stayed ‘under’ in three of Brooklyn’s last four matchups.

Key Injuries

Dallas Mavericks

  • C Kristaps Porzingis: Back - Questionable

Brooklyn Nets

  • PF Jeff Green: Shoulder - Questionable
  • PF Kevin Durant: Hamstring - Out

Player Prop to Watch

Luka Doncic – Over 29.5 Points (-110)

Doncic heads into Saturday having scored 31 or more points in three of his past five games – highlighted by 44 and 46-point outings against the Pelicans and Blazers across that stretch.

I’ll back Luka to score 30 or more points in another matchup with the Nets here, considering Dallas tends to lean on him a bit more during fast-pace, high-scoring affairs.

Mavericks vs. Nets Prediction

The Nets come into Saturday’s matchup having won and covered the spread in eight straight games, with six of the victories across that stretch coming against Western Conference opponents already. I’ll back Brooklyn to run away with high-scoring one here, despite Durant being set to miss an 8th consecutive contest.

Score Prediction: Nets 127, Mavericks 119
Best Bet: Brooklyn -4
