It’s been chaotic for the Sixers as they’ve been without Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons – for much different reasons. Life was so hard in Sacramento they fired coach Luke Walton over the weekend. Both teams are desperate for a win as they tip off 10pE Monday night on NBATV.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Sacramento Kings Predictions

While it’s true both teams are struggling through the start of the season, it’s for opposite reasons. That will be on full display as the Sixers will overpower the Kings. Philadelphia has simply been without top talent for extended periods of time. Due to COVID or injury or trade demands, the Sixers went a stretch without Embiid, Simmons, and Tobias Harris.

They get Harris back, as he has Seth Curry and Tyrese Maxey to rely on for offense. Matisse Thybulle is back and will put an enormous amount of defensive pressure on Sacramento’s backcourt. The Sixers are still a good team without Embiid and Simmons, they just aren’t the best team in the East.

The Kings are going to be in some disarray as they will be playing their first game without Luke Walton. Beyond their overall record, the Kings were dealing with one of the more suspect defenses in the NBA. Richaun Holmes has a decent scoring matchup against Andre Drummond, but not enough of a rebounding advantage.

De’Aaron Fox will see a lot of Thybulle on him and comes off a rough shooting night this past Saturday against the Jazz. Harrison Barnes has cooled off after a hot start in the beginning of the season and will deal with Harris on the Sixers most of the night.

After a refreshing – and rather surprising – road victory in Denver, the Sixers came back to earth with a loss to the Blazers. Tobias Harris is playing well, it’s just the Sixers are taking on better teams during this stretch. Even Portland saw Damian Lillard explode against Philadelphia, so star power is a problem for this team.

The Kings don’t have much – if any – star power. The Sixers have been able to get by against lesser teams with Harris leading a supporting cast. The shots will come from Curry and Maxey – two regular starters along with Harris.

The Kings have been scoring points, even with ten losses on the season. Tyrese Haliburton and Fox were picking up some slack when Barnes started to struggle. But things were so bad overall they fired their coach before Thanksgiving.

Hard to overlook how many problems a team is having that they need to fire a guy this early in the season. It’s also difficult to think Buddy Hieldoff the bench is going to outpace Furkan Korkmaz and Georges Niang. The Kings woes will continue against the Sixers.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Sacramento Kings Betting Conclusion

The Sixers may have fallen to the 10th seed in the East, but they are still 9-8 ATS. The Sixers are a good team without their top two superstars, they may not be a playoff team, but good enough with Harris to beat the Kings.

Sacramento just doesn’t have the defensive capabilities to slow down the Sixers starters. Maxey will penetrate and force the Kings to crash on defense, allowing for Curry and Green to get some open – or just easier – looks. The Kings are going to have to get a better night out of Morant if they want.
