Philadelphia 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets Predictions

The Nets remain atop the Eastern Conference one week away from Christmas at 20-8, holding a two-game edge over defending champion Milwaukee for the top seed.

Philadelphia has dealt with injuries all season, while guard Ben Simmons still has not suited up for the team. The 76ers are currently the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference at 15-14, as Philadelphia has yet to win a game against a division foe by sitting at 0-5 within the Atlantic.

Philadelphia 76ers Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 15-14
  • ATS: 12-16-1
  • O/U: 10-17-2

The 76ers have looked flat offensively in their last two games since knocking off the Warriors as home underdogs last Saturday.

Joel Embiid was a late scratch in Monday's 126-91 drubbing at the hands of a red-hot Memphis squad, as the Sixers converted only 4-of-22 three-point attempts.

Embiid returned on Wednesday against a short-handed Heat squad at home, but Miami jumped out to an 11-point lead after one quarter and never looked back in a 101-96 triumph. Philadelphia lost as eight-point favorites, but received a strong performance from guard Tyrese Maxey, who scored 27 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the floor.

Philadelphia slipped to 6-7 at Wells Fargo Center, but the 76ers own a winning road mark at 9-7.

Brooklyn Nets Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 20-8
  • ATS: 12-16
  • O/U: 12-16

Brooklyn is dealing with plenty of COVID issues at the moment, most notably James Harden placed in the protocols on Tuesday.

The Nets outlasted the Raptors as 4.5-point home favorites on Tuesday, 131-129 in overtime to capture their third consecutive victory. Kevin Durant followed up a season-high 51-point effort at Detroit on Sunday with 34 points against Toronto and his second triple-double of the season.

However, the Nets are riding an 0-6 ATS slide at Barclays Center, while owning a 4-10 ATS mark on their home court this season.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets Head-to-Head

The home team captured all three matchups last season, but the Nets broke that trend with a 114-109 come-from-behind victory at Wells Fargo Center on October 22.

The Nets erased a 14-point deficit, capped off by outscoring the 76ers, 29-18 in the fourth quarter. Durant posted a triple-double by scoring 29 points, pulling down 15 rebounds, and dishing out 12 assists.

Philadelphia has captured five of the past eight regular season meetings since eliminating Brooklyn in the first round of the 2019 playoffs.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets Betting Conclusion

The Sixers will look to pick up their first Atlantic Division win tonight and although Embiid's status will likely be up in the air until gametime, Philadelphia is a strong look tonight. Brooklyn is without Harden, LaMarcus Aldridge, Bruce Brown, Paul Millsap, and others due to COVID protocol.

Philadelphia is 4-1-1 ATS in its past six opportunities as a road underdog and should rebound after a close loss to Miami on Wednesday.
