After finishing ninth in the West with a record of 39-33 SU last year, Golden State stormed out to a triumphant start to the season, as the Warriors entered December boasting impressive records of 18-3 SU and 15-5-1 ATS – with 14 of those victories coming by a double-digit margin.

The last few weeks have been relatively shaky for the Warriors though, considering Golden State is just 11-5 SU and 7-8-1 ATS across the last 16 games – despite getting tagged as favorites in 13 of those contests.

On the other hand, Dallas also posted a strong start to this season, as the Mavericks kicked things off with a solid 9-4 SU run – but winning never comes particularly easy for them, considering Dallas went just 5-8 ATS across that timeframe.

I’ll lay the points with Golden State here, as despite entering Wednesday riding a three-game win streak, the Mavericks are just 5-5 SU and 6-4 ATS across their last ten games, having scored 105 PTS or less in six of those matchups (107 PPG) – which typically isn’t enough to top a Warriors squad that ranks sixth in scoring and second in effective field-goal percentage. (111.4 PPG, 56% EFG).

Their magic seemingly returned over the holidays though, considering the Warriors’ boast impressive victories over the Jazz, Suns, Grizzlies, and Heat across their latest five-game stretch.

Dallas is a very dangerous squad when Luka Doncic is present, but clearly, the two-time All-Pro can’t single-handedly move mountains, considering Dallas ranks just 26th in scoring and 20th in effective field-goal percentage (105.1 PPG, 51.9% EFG) – which is inexcusable for a squad with such a gifted offensive player running the show.
