UTAH JAZZ VS. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS PREDICTIONS

After earning the top-seed in the West with a record of 52-20 SU last year, Utah posted a surprisingly pedestrian start to this season, as the Jazz opened with a mediocre 8-5 SU and 7-6 stretch – while scoring roughly 110 PPG across that window.

Utah has played excellent at both ends of the floor since mid-November though, considering the Jazz sit 21-11 SU across their last 32 games – while racking up 117 PPG offensively and surrendering just 109 PPG defensively during that timeframe.

On the other hand, Golden State stormed out to a triumphant start to the season, as the Warriors kicked things off with an impressive 18-3 SU and 15-5-1 ATS run – with 14 of those victories coming by 10+ PTS.

The last few weeks have been relatively shaky for the Warriors though, considering Golden State is just 15-10 SU and 10-14-1 ATS across the last 25 games – despite getting tagged as favorites in 20 of those contests.

I’ll take the points with the Jazz here, as both of these teams have struggled recently, with Golden State sitting at 4-6 SU across their last ten games, and Utah sitting 2-6 SU across their last eight – but my vote of confidence still belongs to a Jazz squad that leads the league in both scoring and offensive efficiency (114.7 PPG, 1.130 OE).

UTAH JAZZ BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 30-16
  • ATS: 20-25-1
  • O/U: 23-22-1

Utah has been the most consistent squad in the West over the last few regular seasons, which is no coincidence, considering the Jazz wield an incredibly well-balanced attack – currently ranked 1st in the league in offensive efficiency (1.130 OE), and 11th in defensive efficiency (1.057 DE).

Utah’s consistency quickly fades without Donovan Mitchell on the floor though, considering the Jazz have averaged just 108 PPG across their latest eight-game stretch – with half of those losses coming in the absence of Mitchell.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 33-13
  • ATS: 25-19-2
  • O/U: 17-28-1

After last year’s mediocre 39-33 SU regular-season showing, Golden State returned seeking vengeance to open this season, as the Warriors kicked things off with wins in 18 of their first 20 games – with their only two losses across that span coming by slim margins of four points or less.

Golden State hit a bit of a rough patch around Thanksgiving though, considering the Warriors are just 15-10 SU and 10-14-1 ATS in their last 25 games, but fortunately, Klay Thompson has arrived on the scene at just the right time – highlighted by the five-time All-Star averaging roughly 15 PPG on 21 MPG across his first six outings of the season.

The Warriors are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games. (AP)

UTAH JAZZ VS. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Warriors won two-of-three regular-season meetings against Utah last year, with all three of those matchups soaring over the total at a lofty average of 240 PPG. The most recent matchup between these teams took place on New Year’s Day 2022 though, which resulted in another high-scoring victory for Golden State (123-116).

KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH

  • UTA: Bojan Bogdanovic - SF (18.1 PPG, 4.1 REB, 1.8 AST)
  • UTA: Rudy Gobert - C (16 PPG, 15 REB, 2.3 BLK)
  • GSW: Steph Curry - PG (26.3 PPG, 5.3 REB, 6.2 AST)
  • GSW: Klay Thompson - SG (21 MPG, 14.7 PPG, 2.8 REB, 2 AST)

UTAH JAZZ VS. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS BETTING CONCLUSION

After knocking off the Rockets in thrilling fashion on Friday night (W, 105-103), the Warriors enter Sunday’s contest as narrow home favorites over the visiting Jazz – marking just the third time Utah has been an underdog this season.

I’ll take the points with Utah here, as the Warriors have been terrible on offense recently, averaging just 104 PPG across their latest 4-6 SU skid – setting the stage for another unfavorable matchup against a Jazz squad that leads the league in both scoring and offensive efficiency (114.7 PPG, 1.130 OE).

UTAH JAZZ VS. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS BETTING TRENDS

  • The Jazz are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games.
  • The Warriors are 5-2 ATS in their last seven matchups against Utah.
  • The total has gone UNDER in four of the last five Jazz' games.
  • The Warriors are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games.
