After last year’s dazzling NBA title run, Milwaukee stumbled out to a surprisingly slow start to this season, as the Bucks kicked things off with a lackluster 6-8 SU and ATS skid – with four of those SU losses coming in matchups they were favored in.

The Bucks have quietly dominated since their opening skid though, considering Milwaukee enters Wednesday riding a sturdy 34-17 SU run, with 25 of those victories coming by eight points or more – despite sitting just 23-28 ATS across that same window.

On the other hand, Atlanta also posted a surprisingly slow start to the season, as the Hawks kicked things off with a frustrating 17-25 SU and 15-27 ATS skid – despite getting tagged as favorites in 25 of those matchups.

The Hawks have played solid basketball since the midway point of January though, considering Atlanta boasts a sturdy record of 14-8 SU and 13-9 ATS across their last 22 games – while scoring 116.3 OPPG and allowing just 111.3 DPPG during that timeframe.

I’ll back Milwaukee here, as the Hawks enter Wednesday riding a relatively bumpy 3-3 SU and 2-4 ATS stretch, while tallying 115 OPPG and allowing 111.7 DPPG during that span – setting the stage for a tough road matchup against a Bucks squad that’s scored 120+ PTS in six of their last seven games (124.4 OPPG).

The Hawks entered this season with high expectations following last year’s unexpected Eastern Conference Finals run, as Atlanta dominated the Knicks in a five-game first-round set and then stunned the top-seeded Sixers in the second, before inevitably falling short against Milwaukee in a competitive six-game ECF set.

Atlanta has been incredibly inconsistent since New Year’s Day though, considering the Hawks are just 15-13 SU and 14-14 ATS in their last 28 games – while yielding averages of 114.2 OPPG and 112.4 DPPG across that timeframe.

Milwaukee Bucks Betting Analysis

After finishing with the best record in the East in two of the last three regular seasons, Milwaukee’s rough start was a bit of a head-scratcher, as the Bucks’ compiled a record of 162-65 SU across the previous three seasons – and then opened this season just 6-8 SU.

Milwaukee has played excellent basketball, when healthy, since mid-November though, considering the Bucks enter Wednesday riding a sturdy 34-17 SU run – with nearly a third of those losses coming in the absence of two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo (5). 

Hawks vs. Bucks Head-to-Head

The Bucks won two-of-three regular-season matchups against Atlanta last year, with the first two contests soaring over the total at an average of 236.5 PPG – while the third stayed just under with a score of 111-104. These teams also met up in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals, which resulted in a relatively comfortable six-game series victory for Milwaukee. The Hawks are 2-0 SU against Milwaukee this season though, with the first matchup staying under the total at a score of 120-100 (U 224) – while their most recent meeting stayed under at a score of 121-114 (O 233.5).
