Phoenix Suns -4.5 (-110) @ DET

The Suns have certainly dealt with their fair share of health issues as of late, primarily highlighted by the absence of Devin Booker, and they enter tonight’s contest with tired legs playing on the second half of a road back-to-back following a 106-94 win over the Celtics last night. But fortunately, the Suns are still capable of rolling out of bed and beating Detroit under pretty much any set of circumstances.

The Pistons are 2-2 in their last two games, which is an inspiring feat for this squad. However, don't look too far into Detroit’s recent success, considering their wins came against Charlotte and Brooklyn, and they also lost to an awful Houston team during that stretch.

There’s no denying the fact that Phoenix is tired and beat-up at the moment. Jae Crowder, Cam Payne, and Landry Shamet are all slated to miss tonight’s contest along with Booker. Despite their crowded injury report, though, the Suns simply keep gaining steam, considering they’re now 7-2 in their last nine games, with their only losses coming in tough matchups against Dallas and Atlanta.

The Suns are currently positioned sixth in the Western Conference standings with a record of 28-26. So, it’s not like they're in a position to start taking some nights off. The Pistons may be 2-2 in their last four, but don’t be fooled, they’re still 3-9 in their last 12. There's a good chance Phoenix smells blood in the water, and runs away with this one.

Kawhi Leonard (LAC) Over 26.5 Points

In the Clippers’ most recent contest, Kawhi Leonard drew a tough defensive matchup against Giannis Antetokoumpo for the majority of the affair, and he struggled miserably from start-to-finish, highlighted by Kawhi scoring just 17 points on 7-of-26 from the field in L. A.’s heartbreaking 106-105 loss to the Bucks on Thursday night.

However, prior to his latest outing, Leonard had scored 27+ points in nine of his last 11 outings for the Clippers, with his lowest scoring output during that stretch ringing in at 24 points in a double-digit loss to Denver.

So, I’ll back Kawhi to bounce back in the scoring department in tonight’s matchup against a Knicks squad that’s ranked 28th in the league in defensive rating across their last nine contests (122.5 DRtg).

Hawks-Nuggets Over 234 (-110)

Denver tends to float back-and-forth between fast paced shootouts and hard fought defensive battles, with very few landing somewhere in the middle, highlighted by the Nuggets racking up 119+ points in 11 of their last 15 games, however, they also fell short of the 100-point scoring mark in three of those contests.

What type of battle will Denver partake in tonight, though? The Hawks rank Top 10 in the league in points scored, and Bottom 10 in points allowed, currently yielding averages of roughly 116.5 PPG at both ends of the floor. Their defense appears to be getting worse too, highlighted by Atlanta ranking 26th in defensive rating across their last nine contests (119.6 DRtg), while surrendering 120+ points in six of those affairs (119 PPG).

Nikola Jokic is listed as questionable for Denver heading into this one, but even if he’s out, there’s a good chance they’ll revert to a backcourt-centric rotation in order to keep up with this run-and-gun Atlanta squad . So, I’ll take the ‘over’ in tonight’s matchup between a pair of teams that have both scored 118+ points in seven of their last ten games.
