PHILADELPHIA 76ERS vs. MILWAUKEE BUCKS BETTING PREDICTION

The Bucks are the hottest team in basketball at the moment, they enter Saturday riding an impressive 16-game winning streak, while pacing the league in net rating by a comfortable margin during that span (+12.1 NetRtg), with the next teams up in the pecking order being the Cavaliers (+8.2 NetRtg), Knicks (+5.9 NetRtg), and Suns (+4.4 NetRtg).

There’s no denying the fact that Milwaukee has been one of the most consistent squads in the league over the last few regular seasons, primarily thanks to the steady dominance of two-time MVP winner Giannis Antetokounmpo, however, along with that consistency, often comes a relatively modest ceiling, but for the time being, this Bucks’ team appears to have no limits.

In the playoffs, the overall level of defensive play is amplified, and Milwaukee quickly becomes a much more beatable opponent. But in the regular season, asking guys to stand in the way of a force like Antetokounmpo on defense is a tall order, and more often than not, opposing frontcourts turn into turnstiles when facing the Bucks.

However, Philly isn’t one of those teams. The Sixers match up well against Milwaukee at the defensive end of the floor, anchored by All-Pro center Joel Embiid, Philly currently ranks 3rd in points allowed and 8th in defensive rating, and when combined with their 7th ranked offense, this squad is more than capable of conjuring together a winning formula on any given night, especially if Antetokounmpo’s wrist is still feeling less than 100%.

The Sixers enter Saturday following losses in three of their last four games, with two of those defeats coming by slim margins of three points or less. However, prior to their latest skid, a case could’ve been made for Philly standing as the hottest team in basketball, considering they entered the month of March riding high on an impressive 14-3 run, and quite frankly, they fell just a few bad bounces shy of extending that number to 17-4 heading into this one.

All things considered, this is a pretty even matchup. The Bucks and Sixers have split their last four meetings straight down the middle 2-2, and the only reason Milwaukee is laying such a hefty price is because they’ve won 16 straight games.

So, instead, look at this as a heavyweight regular season clash between two of the top squads in the East, more of a 50-50 proposition, if you will. Personally, Milwaukee strikes me as way overdue for a loss, and I think we’ll see the Sixers break the streak on Saturday night, but even if Milwaukee prevails yet again, Philly probably still makes them sweat in this one.
