The spread in this game has moved all over the place, starting with Washington being the slight favorite but then flipping to Los Angeles who is now favored (depending on your book). All eyes should be on former Rookie of the Year winner, Justin Herbert, who will look to prove that last season wasn't just a fluke.

Washington on the other hand, is bringing in a new QB in Ryan Fitzpatrick who is coming off his best career season with the Dolphins last year. Can Fitzpatrick live up to the hype and lead this team to victory or will his past turnover woes come to bite him in the butt? One of the things Chargers fans are most excited about is the health of this team.

It feels like every single year the Chargers don't make it through camp without a serious injury, but it seems like they've escaped it unharmed this year. The return of Joey Bosa and Derwin James are extremely exciting, as we haven't seen them suit up in awhile but the talent is unquestionably there.

On the Washington side, the only notable injury news is it's looking likely that Curtis Samuel will sit out this game with injury. That means we should see work from rookie Dyami Brown along with Cam Sims on the outside.

I'll be betting the Washington Football ML at +105. A lot of this comes down to the Chargers offensive line versus Washington's defensive line. While the Chargers offensive line isn't terrible, it has plenty of holes. Washington's front five can probably go toe-to-toe with any in the country. I think that will be a major problem for the Chargers. Herbert struggled a bit last season against teams with great defensive units and I think they may find it hard to score at times, if Washington can limit the mistakes on offense then this is a very winnable game.
