New York Giants vs. Green Bay Packers Picks, Predictions, Odds
Sports Betting Expert
The fifth Sunday of regular season NFL action will kick things off with a neutral-site matchup between the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers. Coverage begins from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London at 9:30 a.m. ET on NFL Network.
NEW YORK GIANTS vs. GREEN BAY PACKERS BETTING PREDICTION
The Giants are off to a surprisingly strong 3-1 start under new head coach Brian Daboll, as the G-Men posted wins over the Titans, Panthers, and Bears, plus a competitive loss to the Cowboys in their first four contests, despite scoring 21 PTS or less in all those affairs (19 PPG, 5 TO). However, the Giants’ defense really felt the pressure in those first four contests, as they held their opponents to 16 PPG on 313 YPG across their three victories, and allowed just 23 PTS on 336 YDS in their one loss.
Green Bay, on the other hand, is also off to an ugly 3-1 start to the year, as the Packers opened with a head-scratching 23-7 loss to Minnesota in Week 1, before ultimately going on to win their next three contests against the Bears, Bucs, and Patriots. However, nothing’s come easy for Green Bay, as the Packers’ offense averaged just 18.8 PPG and turned the ball over seven times across their first four matchups of the season, resulting in two of those wins coming by slim margins of three points or less.
I’ll take the under here, as most people have given the Giants a free pass for their quartet of terrible offensive performances to open the year, and rightfully so, as they boast a solid 3-1 record. However, the Giants’ true colors finally appeared to show through against Dallas in Week 3, and Daniel Jones is currently nursing an ankle injury, so we’ll probably see limited possessions in this matchup if the G-Men elect to lean on their run game more than usual.
Score Prediction: Packers 23, Giants 13
Best Bet: Under 41 (-110)

NEW YORK GIANTS BETTING ANALYSIS
The Giants finished last in the NFC East with a record of 4-13 last season, which tied the Jets for the third-worst mark in the league. Health issues were partly to blame for the Giants’ struggles, especially on the offensive side, as New York posted a modest 4-7 record through the first 12 weeks of the season. However, Jones’ season-ending neck injury immediately derailed their campaign, and they went 0-6 the rest of the way.
Giants’ RB Saquon Barkley participated in 13 contests last season, which tied his career best attendance since suiting up for all 16 games in his impressive Rookie of the Year campaign back in 2018. However, Barkley dealt with a lingering injury for most of last year, and the Giants’ 31st ranked offense didn’t exactly breed run-heavy scenarios often (15.2 PPG), so, it’s good to see him back in the saddle early this season (143 TOT YPG, 3 TD).
GREEN BAY PACKERS BETTING ANALYSIS
Green Bay won the NFC North with a record of 13-4 last season, which narrowly edged Tampa Bay for the top seed in the conference. However, Rodgers’ second straight MVP campaign came to an abrupt halt in the Divisional Round, as the Packers went in cold after their first-round bye and fell to the Niners in a snowy slugfest at Lambeau Field (L, 13- 10).
The Packers traded away All-Pro wideout Davante Adams this past offseason, which has depleted their receiving core to the ranks of Allen Lazard, Christian Watson, Sammy Watkins, and rookie Romeo Doubs; and while the panic level remains low surrounding Green Bay’s shortcomings, scoring 14 PTS or less in two-of-four matchups to open the season certainly doesn’t give me enough confidence to lay 7+ points with the Packers in a matchup against a scrappy Giants squad that’s had all four matchups decided by one possession thus far.
