Stars at Predators Betting Odds Overview

The Stars and Predators meet Thursday in the front end of the home-and-home. It's the third meeting in the regular season. Dallas won 4-1 at Bridgestone Arena on Dec. 14, and the Stars won at the Cotton Bowl in the Winter Classic outdoors in a 4-2 victory.

Dallas heads into this one with five victories in the past seven against teams with a losing record while going 11-5 in the past 16 as an underdog. In addition, the Stars are an impressive 7-2 in the past nine appearances on a Thursday.

Predators Current Form

The Predators have won just once in the past five games against a Western Conference team. They're also 4-9 in the past 13 games in fhe fourth game of a 4-in-6 (four games in six days) situation. They're also 3-10 in the third game of a 3-in-4 (three games in four days) situation.

Stars to Watch

The Stars haven't been terribly prolific, but D John Klingberg has posted two goals and an assist with a plus-1 rating in the past two outings as he starts to make up for a slow start. C Jamie Benn has managed a power-play goal with four points across his past three outings with 10 shots on goal (SOG). LW Denis Gurianov has managed three goals and four points with a plus-3 rating and 11 SOG across four outings. C Tyler Seguin has picked up six goals (two power-play goals) with 10 points and a plus-2 rating with three game-winning outiings with 39 SGO across the past 11

 Unfortunately for the Stars, RW Corey Perry has stumbled across the past four outings with just one assist, a plus-2 rating and five shots on goal. LW Roope Hintz has been blanked across the past three outings with seven SOG. D Andrej Sekera is scoreless across the past seven outings with an even rating and just seven SOG. LW Andrew Cogliano is also scoreless over the past eight outings with a minus-2 raitng, while RW Blake Comeau has managed a minus-1 rating and 10 SOG while going scoreless across the past eight. 

Predators to Watch

For the Preds, D Roman Josi has managed a goal with four points and 15 SOG across the previous four contests. C Craig Smith posted a power-play goal to account for the only goal last time out.

On the flip side, W Matt Duchene has managed just two assists with a minus-2 rating and eight shots on goal across the past eight. C Nick Bonino is also good for just one goal and a minus-3 rating across the past six contests, while W Kyle Turris has registered just one assist and a minus-6 rating with 15 SOG across the past eight outings. W Mattias Ekholm has managed to go scoreless with a minus-6 rating and 10 SOG in the past four.
