PITTSBURGH PENGUINS vs. MINNESOTA WILD PREDICTIONS

The Penguins exploded for 11 goals on the lowly Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, but crashed back to Earth in a 3-2 loss at home against the New York Rangers on Tuesday. The Pens would probably be very happy with an offensive effort somewhere in between the two performances. the UNDER result against the Blueshirts snapped a 3-0 run to the OVER from March 23-27. The offensive support for Tristan Jarry has been feast or famine lately, as the Jackets have scored 5, 1, 11 and 2 in his past four starts.

The Wild will be looking for the regular-season sweep, as they have posted a 5-4 shootout victory on Nov. 6 in the Steel City as the OVER cashed. Jarry allowed four goals on 40 shots in that loss, while Cam Talbot held on for the victory while yielding four goals on 39 shots.

Minnesota has picked up seven consecutive victories since a loss March 13 against the Nashville Predators, as the Wild have registered 23 goals during the win streak while coughing up just 10 goals. The UNDER has been on a six-game run since March 19, too.

  • SU: 40-18-10
  • ATS: 33-35
  • O/U: 33-32-3

The Penguins have managed a 1-2-1 record across the past four games, with an 11-goal outburst in the only victory at home against the Red Wings on Sunday. In the three losses, the Pens have a combined six goals while allowing 12 total goals.

Pittsburgh has managed a 16-7 record across the past 23 games on the road, while going 20-8 in the past 28 contests against Central Division foes. The Pens are also 13-5 in the past 18 against Western Conference opponents. However, the Pens are just 1-4 in the past five as an underdog.

As far as the totals are concerned for Pittsburgh, it's all about the UNDER. The UNDER is 8-2-1 in the past 11 games on the road, while going 4-1-1 in the past six against teams with a winning record, while going 3-1-1 in the past five as an underdog.

MINNESOTA WILD BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 41-20-4
  • ATS: 31-34
  • O/U: 36-26-3

As mentioned, Minnesota picked up the shootout victory earlier this season in Pittsburgh. That snapped a five-game losing skid in this Eastern-Western Conference series. The OVER cashed, which is also against the trends. The UNDER is 5-2 in the past seven meetings in St. Paul.

The Wild have cashed in seven straight games while going 4-1 in the past five against teams with a winning overall record. The Wild have won a crazy 14 games in the past 16 against Metropolitan Division foes. Minnesota is also 23-9 in the past 32 against Eastern Conference teams, too, while going 40-12 in the past 52 as a home fave.

Like Pittsburgh, it's all about the UNDER for Minnesota. The UNDER is 6-0-1 in the past seven games overall, while going 6-0-1 in the past seven at home while going 5-0-1 in the past six as a favorite.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS vs. MINNESOTA WILD BETTING CONCLUSION

The Penguins have been a difficult team to figure out lately. Of course, their two losses in the past three games are each against the rival New York Rangers, one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. But they're a completely different team at home than on the road. The last time the Pens were on the road, they lost 5-1 at MSG against the Rangers. Prior to that, Pittsburgh lost an inexplicable game at Buffalo in a 4-3 shootout. They're 2-3-2 across the past seven games on the road.

The Wild showed they have plenty of offense for the Pens, topping them in the Steel City back in November. Now, the Wild will use former Penguins backstop Marc-Andre Fleury against his original NHL organization. The Wild have rattled off seven straight victories, and there's no reason to believe the Penguins can derail this train.
